Race for NCGOP Vice-chairman a true test of THE Pope’s “party loyalty” message

State GOP vice-chairman Joyce Krawiec’s appointment to an unexpired state Senate seat from Forsythe County has created a job vacancy within the party hierarchy.  Krawiec’s move to the Senate meant that she had to resign her party post.  Party insiders are expected to meet within a month to pick someone to finish her unexpired vice-chairman term.

Krawiec sworn in as state senator

Joyce Krawiec of Kernersville, R-Forsyth, was sworn in Friday to represent N.C. Senate District 31 in the General Assembly. She replaces Sen. Peter Brunstetter, R-Forsyth, who resigned in November to accept a job with Novant Health.

Lt. Gov. Dan Forest administered the oath of office to Krawiec in the old Senate chamber in the State Capitol in Raleigh. Republicans in Forsyth and Yadkin counties nominated Krawiec last week to fill the vacancy. Her term ends Dec. 31, 2014.
