SEN. TED CRUZ ISSUES MAJOR GAY MARRIAGE WARNING FOR PASTORS AND CHRISTIANS, ALIKE

Supporters of traditional marriage often fear the free speech ramifications that could emerge as as result of increasing support for gay marriage in the United States. But are these worries really legitimate?

In an interview with CBN’s David Brody, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a Republican, joined in this chorus, warning that the push in favor of same-sex unions could, indeed, put First Amendment protections at risk.
“If you look at other nations that have gone down the road towards gay marriage, that’s the next step of where it gets enforced,” he said of hate speech regulations that are in place in other countries.
“It gets enforced against Christian pastors who decline to perform gay marriages, who speak out and preach biblical truths on marriage and that has been defined elsewhere as hate speech — as inconsistent with the enlightened view of government,” Cruz added.

HOLD ON, DOMA WASN’T TOTALLY THROWN OUT:

HERE’S THE PROVISION THAT COULD LEAD TO ANOTHER GAY MARRIAGE BATTLE

The Supreme Court’s historic rulings on gay marriage have people on both sides of the debate responding strongly. As TheBlaze previously reported, the majority of justices struck down a key part of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) this morning — and subsequently also threw out the contentious Prop 8 appeal (read that decision here). As for DOMA, there may be some confusion surrounding what, exactly, was included in the original 1996 law and which parts of the legislation that was signed into law by Democratic President Bill Clinton have been axed.   To begin, the portion of the DOMA law that was ruled against in United States v. Windsor is a provision that denies benefits to legally-married gay couples. Same-sex couples, under federal law, will now, as a result of the ruling, be considered “married.” But before today, under Sec. 7 of the law, marriage was explicitly confined to unions between men and women.   CONTINUED:  http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/06/26/hold-on-doma-wasnt-totally-thrown-out-heres-the-provision-that-could-lead-to-another-gay-marriage-battle/

Are You Sure You Are a Democrat?

Today's Democrat Party (the party of ABORTION) is NOT THE PARTY OF YOUR PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS!

One look at the recent NC State Democratic Convention demonstrates the extreme liberal fringe that makes up today’s North Carolina Democratic Party. Resolutions adopted by the NCDP at their convention include:

• A single-payer national healthcare system (which would be significantly to the left of the job-killing monstrosity that is ObamaCare)

• Repeal of the marriage amendment (that was recently approved by 61% of North Carolinians)

• The full legalization of marijuana (not just for medicinal purposes, which is a position to the left of even California Democrats)

• The abandonment of nuclear energy as part of the U.S. energy policy (which would in turn force us to become even more dependent on foreign oil)

• Full abolishment of the death penalty

• A demand for collective bargaining rights for workers (which would be extremely detrimental to attracting new business investment in North Carolina)

• Opposition to state-level immigration reform (while the federal government continues to ignore the issue)

• The creation of a Cabinet-level Department of Peace and Nonviolence (which is just absurd)

These positions are so outside of the mainstream, one wonders if they were even meant to be serious. Of course, you never know what to expect when you’re dealing with the same body that decided to keep their Party Chairman after his role in the cover-up of a sexual harassment scandal, who continue to support the least popular governor in the country (who may have recently committed fraud by altering official documents to protect her pet spending projects), and who just nominated a candidate for governor who has promised to keep the exact same policies as his predecessor.
