The liberal double standards on civility were on full display yesterday. Jimmy Hoffa, the President of the Teamsters Union called on supporters to “take those SOBs out.”
Who are the SOBs? You and me of course.
Coming from the President of the Teamsters, we know what he means by “take those SOBs out.” The Teamsters Union has a long and storied history, punctuated with frequent violence and ties to organized crime.
Jimmy Hoffa called for violence against the Tea Party.
What makes this worse is Hoffa did it at an event where Obama was the key speaker. Hoffa said, “Obama, we are your army. We are ready to march.” Obama was not present when Hoffa made his remarks, but is certainly aware of them.
The silence we hear from the Obama regime is not shocking. Obama and the liberals have a double standard on civility. Threats and even violence from the left is ignored. There is no violence from the Tea Party so the Obama compliant media manufactures the myth of it.
In January, Gabrielle Giffords was shot. The left immediately jumped out accusing conservatives of being responsible for the shooting. As it turned out, what little political beliefs the shooter had were on the liberal side. Then the liberal line went from conservatives caused the shooting to the corrosive environment based on the hate speech, which they conveniently blamed on the Tea Party.
On January 13, Obama went to Arizona where he called for civility. Since then, there has been no civility. The Tea Party and Conservatives have been talking about the problems and the solutions. The left has been telling us to “go straight to hell,” and claiming Conservatives wanted to see black people “hanging from trees.”
The ball is in Obama’s court right now. The Illinois Tea Party has called for Jimmy Hoffa to resign. Hoffa will not resign from the Teamsters Union. Thuggery is a long-standing and cherished Union tradition.
But it is time to make Obama live up to his words.
Obama must repudiate the words of Hoffa and he must do it today.
In January, Obama called for a more civil discourse. When the Teamsters President wants to “take those SOBs out,” we know exactly what he means. It is a call to violence and it is unacceptable.
Either Obama condemns this speech or he does not. If he does, then perhaps it is a step towards the hard left moving away from their rhetoric of violence.
I’m not holding my breath.
Obama will not condemn this type of rhetoric because he believes it. He will not condemn Hoffa because he needs Hoffa and the Unions.
We need to call them out on this. There is a myth that the Tea Party is the source of the heated rhetoric. We need to take this to the streets of social media and every time a liberal tries to claim the Tea Party is responsible for the heated rhetoric, we need to remind them of Maxine Waters, Andre Carson and Jimmy Hoffa.
And we also need to remind them of the silence of Barack Obama.

Randy's Right: Obama Signs Deal to Allow Mexican Truckers Onto U.S. Highways

In yet another blow to U.S. workers, the Obama administration has signed a deal for Mexican truckers to operate inside the United States.
The news headlines all sing hallelujah over some soon to be disappearing punitive tariffs Mexico put on 99 U.S. products simply because we wouldn’t let Mexican truckers, instead of American ones, on U.S. highways. There is no mention in the major press of the cost to American workers, the increased illegal drugs entering the country, the illegal immigrants being smuggled into the U.S., and the wages and jobs lost. Nor is there anything mentioned about border security in the press, or even challenging Mexico for being in violation of NAFTA by their attempts to subvert U.S. labor law in the first place.
The teamsters have been fighting this tooth and nail and just came out swinging. Mexican truckers have lax safety standards and much lower wages, yet will be allowed to work in the United States, by driving on American roads, displacing U.S. truckers.
Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa today castigated the U.S. Department of Transportation for agreeing to open the border to long-haul Mexican trucks. Opening the border endangers America’s highway safety, border security and warehouse and trucking jobs.
Hoffa said the program is probably illegal because it grants permanent operating authority to Mexican trucks after 18 months in the so-called “pilot program” outlined in the proposed rule published in the Federal Register. Congress has not granted DOT the legal authority to do so, Hoffa said. Further, DOT would use money from the Highway Trust Fund to pay for electronic on-board recorders for Mexican trucks. Hoffa questioned whether DOT can do that legally.
“Opening the border to dangerous trucks at a time of high unemployment and rampant drug violence is a shameful abandonment of the DOT’s duty to protect American citizens from harm and to spend American tax dollars responsibly,” Hoffa said.
“This so-called pilot program is a concession to multinational corporations that send jobs to Mexico. It erodes our national security. It endangers motorists. It ignores the rampant corruption among Mexican law enforcement. It lowers wages and robs jobs from hard-working American truck drivers and warehouse workers.
“It adds insult to injury to force U.S. taxpayers to pay for monitoring equipment on Mexican trucks so Mexican carriers can take away their jobs,” Hoffa said. “The DOT shows more loyalty to the Mexican people than it does to Americans.”
Here we go, more illegal aliens, more drug wars, violence and more lost jobs. The teamsters really came out slamming. One can also imagine what Teamsters are thinking now considering they worked very hard to get Obama elected.
Since 2007, violence has worsened as drug cartels compete for trade routes to the U.S. More than 40,000 people have been killed, and kidnapping and torture are rampant.
Further, a Homeland Security incident report from Oct. 15, 2010 indicates that drug traffickers have hijacked and cloned legitimate trucks to transport illicit cargo across the border. According to the document, criminals hijacked over 10,000 commercial trucks in 2010 in Mexico.
Hoffa said DOT cannot guarantee the safety of Mexican trucks.
“Mexican trucks simply don’t meet the same standards as U.S. trucks,” he said. “Medical and physical standards for Mexican trucking firms are lower than for U.S. companies. And how can Mexico enforce highway safety laws when it can’t even control drug cartels?
“The Bush-era pilot program was a failure that shouldn’t be repeated,” Hoffa said.
The U.S. government spent $500 million on the pilot program, which began in September 2007. Only about three Mexican trucks per day traveled beyond the border zone until the program was shut down, according to the Transportation Department’s office of inspector general. The inspector general also reported that “FMCSA does not have assurance that it has checked every Mexican truck and driver … when they cross into the border in the United States.”
Of course challenging Mexico’s illegal tariffs never seemed to cross the mind of the Obama administration. Remember all of that 2008 election brew ha-ha about reforming NAFTA? A very sad day for the U.S. worker as well as national security.

Drivers Beware!

Many Americans will be on the highways this summer. Some will be simply commuting. Others will be working and others will be traveling. For those of you on the interstates this summer, beware! You will have an unwanted companion on the highways.
Mexican trucks.
That is right. Mexican long haul trucks have been excluded from America, but thanks to the Obama regime, that is going to change this summer. And they are doing it in such a manner that will keep congress out of it unless congress gets creative and busy very quickly.
This is lunacy on so many levels.
First, Mexican trucks and their drivers are not up to American standards. In one of the worst decisions of the Bush administration, a test program was put into place that would allow Mexican trucks to travel in a limited portion of the United States. Fortunately, in 2009, Congress killed that really bad idea.
Mexico has nothing that is equivalent to American standards for a commercial driver’s license (CDL). They do not drug test their drivers nor do they even do serious background checks. Can we say terrorist with a truckload of explosives?
Additionally there are no medical testing requirements for drivers as there are in America and the safety standards for Mexican trucks are a joke. Do you really want to be traveling down a highway, going down a steep grade with a Mexican truck behind you, hoping the uninspected Mexican truck’s brakes do not fail?
The other casualty of this idiocy, besides the Americans who will die at the hands of Mexican truckers, is American truckers. The cost for Mexican truckers is less than American truckers. If you want to ship something on a Mexican truck, the cost will be lower. People being rational economic creatures, generally chose the least expensive option. This will put American companies and American truck drivers out of business. Unemployment in the United States is officially at ten percent and the real figure is much closer to twenty percent.
Does the Obama regime really want to do more damage to the economy and put more Americans out of work? In a word, YES!
When the United States did not approve the Mexican trucks on American roads, Mexico retaliated by placing tariffs on some American goods. Of course, our worthless government, more interested in protecting foreign interests than American interests, did nothing.
The authority for Mexican trucks to come onto American roads is a part of the North American Free Trade Agreement. NAFTA and the other free trade agreements have been nothing short of a disaster for America. We have gotten nothing out of them and seen our businesses go south (literally).
If we ever needed a good reason to repeal NAFTA and the other free trade agreements, this is it.
For the Tea Party movement, we need to stand up to his idiocy by the Obama regime. This is simply another example of his merry band of socialists trying to hurt America. From a political point of view, this presents a good opportunity. Not only is it something we can use to beat the Obama regime, but also it gives us the chance to split a group away from the liberal coalition.
The Teamsters Union is not going to be happy about this and will not take it lying down. There is an old saying, “my enemy’s enemy is my friend.” In this instance, the Obama regime has made the Teamsters Union their enemy with this decision. Perhaps it is time for us to make the Teamsters our friend.
