Beaufort County (NC) Commission calls for nullification and constitutional convention

(You can thank the Beaufort Tea Party Patriots for their efforts!)

The Beaufort County (N. C.) Board of Commissioners, meeting in special session January 18, 2013, adopted unanimously a resolution calling upon the N. C. General Assembly to take necessary measures to nullify any Federal action within the State that infringes on the Second Amendment's guarantee of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. The resolution further directed the County Manager to insure that no county employees or resources were used in Federal actions that infringe on Second Amendment rights and called upon the Legislature to adopt necessary measures to call for, with the concurrence of two-thirds of the other states, the convening of a constitutional convention for the "specific purpose of amending the Unites States Constitution to strengthen the Second and Tenth Amendments…"

The motion was made by Commissioner Hood Richardson and seconded Commissioner Stan Deatherage and it was adopted with Vice Chairman Al Klemm and Commissioner Gary Brinn voting for adoption. Each commissioner made a brief statement of why they supported the resolution as can be heard in the video below. Three commissioners, all Democrats, were absent: Jerry Langley, Ed Booth, and Robert Belcher.

The action took place before an overflow crowd of citizens most of whom appeared to be in support of the action.

A Message from Beaufort Patriot Tea Party

More loss of freedom to the Federal Government

Most of us were taught in elementary school (hopefully) about the Minutemen. You remember; those courageous patriots who took up arms to fight against British oppression. What few were taught was how American liberties have consistently been taken away since 1776. The pattern has been repeated over and over again. Few realized when Gibbons v. Ogden was handed down in 1824 (giving the Federal Government supremacy over inter-state commerce) that we would ever experience ObamaCare. And even fewer realized that the adoption of the Sixteenth Amendment would result in the IRS not having to adhere to the Bill of Rights.

The Creeping Leviathan still lives.

We share with you a story in the Beaufort Observer that should chill your soul. Imagine someday having to get a government permit to move from one place to another, either temporarily or permanently.

Please note that S 1813 has passed the Senate and now sits in the House awaiting consideration.

We urge you to contact your Congressman and tell him to either vote against S 1813 or work to have it amended to remove Section 40304.

Beaufort Candidates' Fourm April 3, 2012

Beaufort Candidates' Fourm--April 3, 2012, 7:00 p.m.

The Beaufort Patriot Tea Party, in cooperation with the Beaufort Observer and the County Compass, is sponsoring a Candidates’ Forum Tuesday April 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Beaufort County Community College. Candidates for the legislative seats from Beaufort County as well as the County Commission have been invited to participate.

This is an excellent way to gain information about who you will vote for in the May 8th primary. Candidates have been told they will be afforded time to make a statement about the issues they think most important and where they stand on those issues. We will also collect questions from the audience before the session starts and pose some of those questions to the candidates as time permits. If you have a question you want to hear discussed please give it to one of the registrars at the table as you enter the lobby before the session starts.

This will also be an excellent opportunity for each Tea Party Patriot to build their 10 X 10 network. Contact ten people and ask them to come with you, or meet you at the Forum. This presents you with a practical reason for contacting your ten people and sets the stage for doing so again as early voting begins (April 19 through May 5).

We will also have voter registration forms at the table. Anyone who is not registered to vote, or wishes to change party affiliation, may do so by picking up a Registration Form at the Forum and mailing or taking it to the Board of Elections (before April 13).

The May 8 primary will be critically important in determining who will control the majority in both the Legislature and County Commission. It is vital that we select nominees who will offer a conservative choice for the voters in November.

Please plan to attend Tuesday night and get ten patriots to be there with you.

Your life and liberty is at stake NOW and your SENATOR is wavering on taking a stand.  NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) eliminates Habeas Corpus and your rights as a citizen.  In short, your life and liberty could be taken without recourse.  We have a man who has done extensive research on the subject and you need to hear the findings.

We will be outlining our plans for the upcoming Candidate Forum to be Held April 3, at Beaufort Community College. You will have a report on other upcoming events as we prepare for the coming election. We cannot continue to sit in front of the TV and see our America slip away. BEAUFORT PATRIOT TEA PARTY MEETING

TUESDAY, JANUARY 24, 2012, 7:00PM.
4525 US 264 WEST
MOUNT OLIVE COLLEGE WEST END.

This will be a working and planning meeting to get ready for 2012. We are facing one of the most important elections for the life of America. At the same time we are facing the erosion of our local and State Government. It will fall into the hands of the TEA PARTY to lead the charge against the rampant corruption in all of these levels of Government.

These are some of the items we will need to discuss:

1. How do we gain more strength with the Tea Party.
2. How do we effectively get out the vote in 2012.
3. What are our best tactics to get conservative and honest candidates elected.
4. How do we continue to educate the public.
5. How can we have a presence at all of the upcoming festivals and fairs.
6. How do we raise money for our needs.
7. When should we start rally’s again. Where and how should they be.
8. How do we network.
9. Who should we affiliate with.
10. Promoting upcoming Constitution Seminars.
11. We need to review our working committees to get the job done.
12. How do we communicate.
13. How do we get out the vote.

Please plan to attend and bring a friend. Your ideas and synergism are very important. We have to act now. There may not be a second chance.
