Last week a Reverend — who resides in the same category of “Reverends” as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson — impugned the intellectual integrity of Sen. Tim Scott, alleging that the South Carolina Republican is literally a mindless mouthpiece for the Tea Party.

Within the constricted worldview of Rev. Dr. (dual honors of dubious worth) William Barber II, leader of North Carolina’s chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, behaving conservative while black is an offense deserving of discredit. Hence his Martin Luther King Day remarks in Columbia, S.C. condemned “right-wing extremists,” with the Palmetto State’s replacement for Jim DeMint singled out for special denunciation.

“A ventriloquist can always find a good dummy…,” Barber told a crowd of about 300 loyalists at Zion Baptist Church. “The extreme right wing down here finds a black guy to be senator and claims he’s the first black senator since Reconstruction and then he goes to Washington, D.C., and articulates the agenda of the Tea Party.”

Debunking Media Myths About Student Voters (in NC) | Pundit House

Leftist groups in North Carolina and beyond continue to hold a losing hand in the voter ID game; but with the help of the highly partisan media, they’re trying to bluff their way out of it.

Case in point is the voter ID bill and the superb corrections the NC Senate made to the final version in the area of student ID cards. The House had allowed for 76 different college ID cards to count as “valid ID” for voting purposes; but the Senate, realizing the potential for fraud, simply said “no.”

Before the ink was even dry on the bill, the Soros-backed “Blueprint NC” mobsbegan a campaign to reverse this sensible law. Using their typical agitation rhetoric, one leftist activist called the student ID provisions, “unnecessary, mean-spirited changes that target and punish college students who want to participate in the civic life of their college community.”

While not nearly as colorful, the truth is that no college students will be denied their right to vote. The only impact will be that students will be forced to do one endeavor they have never been required to do before voting: To put it bluntly, they will soon have to . . . well . . . to think before they vote.

In case those words offend any college students reading this column, I have some news that might soften the blow of this “draconian” measure: You won’t need to think too soon, because the Legislature delayed implementation of that provision until January 1, 2016.

Liberal groups lay out blueprint for attack on NC state leaders

RALEIGH, N.C. — A strategy memo circulated recently among liberal-leaning groups prescribes "crippling" legislative leaders and Gov. Pat McCrory with bad press and pressure tactics.

The memo, which was first reported by The Charlotte Observer, details communications strategy, political tactics and polling data that progressive groups can use to push the policy agenda in Raleigh, where Republicans control both the governor's mansion and the legislature.

According to documents included with the memo and interviews, the strategy outline was produced by Myers Research and Strategic Services for Project New America. It was originally provided to Progress North Carolina, a liberal nonprofit that has aggressively attacked McCrory during the 2012 campaign and his early term in office. Progress North Carolina shared the memo with Blueprint NC, a nonprofit that coordinates the activities of liberal-leaning nonprofits. In turn, Blueprint NC distributed it to its member organizations.
