The Social Reformer’s Definition of Life: Demeaning the ‘Sanctity of Life’ for an Enhanced ‘Quality of Life’ (Roe v. Wade, revisited)

“One day, I walked into an operating room, to just be an observant, which we would do generally, as a medical resident. It was the 1960′s and abortion was still legal. They were performing this hysterectomy, which was a caesarean section. And they lifted out a fetus that weighted approximately 2 pounds, and it was breathing and crying and struggling to breathe. And it was put in a bucket and set in the corner of the room, and everybody in the room just pretended that they didn’t hear it. Soon the crying stopped. And the baby died. And I walked out of that room a different person. That same day in the OB suite, an early delivery occurred and the infant boy was only slightly larger than the one that was just aborted. But in this room everybody did everything conceivable to save this child’s life. My conclusion that day was that we were overstepping the bounds of morality by picking and choosing who should live and who should die. There was no consistent moral basis to the value of life under these circumstances. Some people believe that being pro-choice is being on the side of freedom. I’ve never understood how killing a human being, albeit a small one in a special place, is portrayed as a precious right.” (Ron Paul, Liberty Defined, pg. 1 and the Natural Right Convention 2007)

On Monday, January 23, thousands of pro-life supporters marched on Washington DC in the freezing rain to show their lend their voice to those who have no voice of their own – the unborn. In the struggle for rights and recognition, those most fragile and innocent among us look to those with a conscience and a heart to speak for them. Doctors and lawyers have let them down. Politicians have let them down. And in too many cases, their very mothers have let them down. But in the end, in the tribunal that mattered most (except in the kingdom of heaven, of course), the exalted Justices of the Supreme Court let them down. They minimized them, just as the others have. Next year, January 22, 2013, will mark the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, which held that abortion is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution under an implied right to privacy and thus established the notion of abortion-on-demand. The 1973 U.S. Supreme Court announced nationalized abortion law, prohibiting states from deciding on the matter, and leaving the unborn defenseless.

TPN--JUDSON PHILLIPS: Which Presidential candidate actually supported the Tea Party movement?

Tea Party support is something all of the candidates in the GOP primary want. Of course they do. This movement represents the heart and soul of conservatism in America and none of them are going to win without it.

Which Presidential candidate actually supported the Tea Party when he was not running? The answer will surprise you.

Ron Paul’s supporters, especially the more obnoxious one’s like to claim that Ron Paul is the father of the Tea Party movement.

The basis for their claims is that in December 2007, Ron Paul had a fundraiser and he called it a “Tea Party.”

On February 18th, 2009, Rick Santelli of CNBC lit the fire for what would become the Tea Party with his famous rant from the floor of the Chicago Mercantile. Within a couple of days activists from across the country were planning the first Tea Party Rallies.

Neither Ron Paul nor his supporters had anything to do with the planning of those rallies.

How do I know?

It is simple. I was a part of the planning. We who were planning those rallies met almost nightly for conference calls. People who were on those calls have become some of the leading figures of this movement. Amy Kremer was on there, as was Eric Odom, Mike Leahy, activists who formed the Dallas and St. Louis Tea Parties and some others throughout the country.

Ron Paul did not support nor did he appear at any of those rallies.

After February 2009, we began planning the Tax Day Tea Party rallies, which would define this movement.

Where was Ron Paul? Again nowhere.

But there was one politician who stepped up and was willing to help the Tea Party movement. He was not running for office at the time and all he did was ask what he could do.

He did not try to take control of the movement nor did he try to use it for his own benefit.

Who was this person?

It was Newt Gingrich.

TEA PARTY NATION--The Tea Party is Dead! Long Live the Tea Party

Posted by J. Andrew Reid on January 13, 2012 at 11:09am

Many left wing rags, including the mainstream media which more and more fits that description, have been reporting the demise of the Tea Party while touting the rise of the 99% crowd otherwise known as Occupy ___________ (fill in the blank with any city in the US).

Before you waste one moment of your time worrying about the demise of the Tea Party or conservatism please take the source of these articles into account. When did we start taking The Huffington Post seriously? This is the crowd that only feels they are getting their point across when they can talk over you. They do not have a defensible platform on which to present their case so they cannot allow you to challenge them. When they are losing they respond by trying to convince folks that there is no point in listening to you because you represent a shrinking minority espousing stale ideas or that your crowd is full of bigots, homophobes, Islamophobes, racists, one percenters, Uncle Toms, or anything else they can think of. Some of the 99% are just out of work graduates who, when they figure out the extent to which they have been duped, will be in Washington protesting the real reason for their problems.

Has anyone noticed that a large portion of Ron Paul supporters are young people? Many are so fed up with the current state of affairs that they want the pendulum to swing to whomever is the opposite of Barack Obama. This election cycle Ron Paul is that person. I am not endorsing Ron Paul but I am saying this should tell us something.

Conservatism is not on the wane but is gaining in popularity with those who are truly educated about the current state of our country. Every day more and more people are coming to the conclusion that conservatism is the only answer. This is the reason that Democrat and Republican registrations are down and those declaring that they are Independents is on the rise. Truly educated people know that Democrats are more liberal than most Republicans but they also know that many Republicans are too liberal to be called conservatives and that this is the reason we are in our present deplorable condition.
This situation is why there is a Tea Party. Many of the folks who post comments here are trying to educate themselves so that they can do what is necessary to get the "Ship of State" back on the course set by this country's founders. The "Ship of State" is a huge vessel and cannot be turned on a dime. Many here find this to be frustrating because they want to make dramatic changes that will restore this country to the founders vision now.

I share in this frustration but we must not be discouraged and need to realize that the same thing that is preventing us from getting the real conservative candidate we want and correcting all of the things we know need fixing is what will ultimately save us from Barack Obama. He too is frustrated because, though he can inflict much damage, the Ship of State is too large for a one term president to scuttle or even to make a sharp left turn with. This being said, it is important to realize that Obama has managed to get us pretty far off course to the left and, given a second term, could do irreparable harm so we must do whatever is needed to be sure that he is not re-elected.

Carlton's Corner: This Should Make Your Blood Boil.....

I'm a fanatic ( one who won't change his/her mind and won't shut up).

Pegs me exactly. I admit it. I am indeed a fanatic when drawn into issues concerning the FR (Federal Reserve)
Having expressed my views on this criminal organization more then once to my email addressees, we are finally beginning to detect some signs that others, with at least a bit of clout, may finally be realizing and homing in on the source of the grandest financial 'fleece job' ever recorded in the annuls of our history.

But what should really nag all of us are the questions--why has it taken so long for the masses to understand the magnitude of this perpetual 'fleece job"--if indeed they understand , or even care, now? And what effect will this 'audit' have on the visibility of the organization-if any?

Remember as you read the following article---its about audting one of the most corrupt institutions in the world--one that is not a government institution at all, but is composed of FR Banks which are nothing more than private credit monopolies, domestic swindlers, rich and predatory money lenders which prey on the people of America for the benefit of themselves and their foreign customers---Repeating: " their foreign customers"

In other words, these FR Banks are naught more than agents of the foreign central banks.

Making the FR little more than an out-of-control credit monopoly --an extremely extensive, arrogant and dangerous one at that!

Do yourselves a great service by learning all you can about this dandy institution that has managed to survive and flourish at the expense of you and I and will, if not curbed, play a prime role in finally destroying the economy of this country.

So read and make up your own mind. Fanatics needed badly!

Carlton

The first ever GAO audit of the Fedral Reserve was carried out in the past few months due to the Ron Paul, Alan Grayson Amendment to the Dodd-Frank bill, which passed last year. Jim DeMint, a Republican Senator, and Bernie Sanders, an independent Senator, led the charge for a Federal Reserve audit in the Senate, but watered down the original language of the house bill (HR1207), so that a complete audit would not be carried out. Ben Bernanke, Alan Greenspan, and various other bankers vehemently opposed the audit and lied to Congress about the effects an audit would have on markets. Nevertheless, the results of the first audit in the Federal Reserve’s nearly 100 year history were posted on Senator Sander’s webpage earlier this morning.

What was revealed in the audit was startling:  http://iowastatedaily.com/opinion/article_f61ac908-cddb-11e0-bce9-001cc4c03286.html?mode=print

$16,000,000,000,000.00 (TRILLION) had been secretly given out to US banks and corporations and foreign banks everywhere from France to Scotland. From the period between December 2007 and June 2010, the Federal Reserve had secretly bailed out many of the world’s banks, corporations, and governments. The Federal Reserve likes to refer to these secret bailouts as an all-inclusive loan program, but virtually none of the money has been returned and it was loaned out at 0% interest. Why the Federal Reserve had never been public about this or even informed the United States Congress about the $16 trillion dollar bailout is obvious the American public would have been outraged to find out that the Federal Reserve bailed out foreign banks while Americans were struggling to find jobs. To place $16 trillion into perspective, remember that GDP of the United States is only $14.12 trillion. The entire national debt of the United States government spanning its 200+ year history is only $14.5 trillion.

The budget that is being debated so heavily in Congress and the Senate is only $3.5 trillion. Take all of the outrage and debate over the $1.5 trillion deficit into consideration, and swallow this Red pill:  There was no debate about whether $16,000,000,000,000 would be given to failing banks and failing corporations around the world.

In late 2008, the TARP Bailout bill was passed and loans of $800 billion were given to failing banks and companies. That was a blatant lie considering the fact that Goldman Sachs alone received 814 billion dollars. As is turns out, the Federal Reserve donated $2.5 trillion to Citigroup, while Morgan Stanley received $2.04 trillion. The Royal Bank of Scotland and Deutsche Bank, a German bank, split about a trillion and numerous other banks received hefty chunks of the $16trillion. ****

When you have conservative Republican stalwarts like Jim DeMint(R-SC) and Ron Paul(R-TX) as well as self identified Democratic socialists like Bernie Sanders all fighting against the Federal Reserve, you know that it is no longer an issue of Right versus Left. When you have every single member of the Republican Party in Congress and progressive Congressmen like Dennis Kucinich sponsoring a bill to audit the Federal Reserve, you realize that the Federal Reserve is an entity onto itself, which has no oversight and no accountability.

Americans should be swelled with anger and outrage at the abysmal state of affairs when an unelected group of bankers can create money out of thin air and give it out to megabanks and supercorporations like Halloween candy. The list of institutions that received the most money from the Federal Reserve can be found on page 131 of the GAO Audit and are as follows:

Citigroup: $2.5 trillion($2,500,000,000,000)
Morgan Stanley: $2.04 trillion ($2,040,000,000,000)
Merrill Lynch: $1.949 trillion ($1,949,000,000,000)
Bank of America: $1.344 trillion ($1,344,000,000,000)
Barclays PLC (United Kingdom): $868 billion* ($868,000,000,000)
Bear Sterns: $853 billion ($853,000,000,000)
Goldman Sachs: $814 billion ($814,000,000,000)
Royal Bank of Scotland (UK): $541 billion ($541,000,000,000)
JP Morgan Chase: $391 billion ($391,000,000,000)
Deutsche Bank (Germany): $354 billion ($354,000,000,000)
UBS (Switzerland): $287 billion ($287,000,000,000)
Credit Suisse (Switzerland): $262 billion ($262,000,000,000)
Lehman Brothers: $183 billion ($183,000,000,000)
Bank of Scotland (United Kingdom): $181 billion ($181,000,000,000)
BNP Paribas (France): $175 billion ($175,000,000,000)
