The Middle East’s Peace of the Grave

The Middle East's Peace of the Grave

After both great wars of the last century nations got together to create organizations that would ensure that large conflicts would not occur again.

After World War I, it was the League of Nations. When Woodrow Wilson (who was reelected in 1916 after promising to keep the U.S. out of the war in Europe) tried to get the U.S. to sign on, membership in the League was rejected by Congress in the interest of retaining our national sovereignty. The Versailles Treaty that followed the defeat of Germany also set in motion all the elements of that led to World War II and the creation of colonies, new nation-states, in the Middle East by the French and English after the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

Even as World War II was winding down, Franklin D. Roosevelt had work begun on the creation of the United Nations.

In 2007, in response to a question from New York Times’ editors, then Senator Barack Obama explained how he would resolve the problems in Syria. “I would meet directly with Syrian leaders. We would engage in a level of aggressive personal diplomacy in which a whole host of issues are on the table…Iran and Syria would start changing their behavior if they started seeing that they had some incentives to do so, but right now the only incentive that exists is our president (Bush) suggesting that if you do what we tell you, we may not blow you up.”

“My belief about the regional powers in the Middle East is that they don’t respond well to that kind of bluster. They haven’t in the past, there’s no reason to think they will in the future.”

So, naturally, the President is currently threatening Syria’s Bashar al-Assad with military action and, having decided to let Congress determine whether he should be granted permission to proceed, may be deterred if it votes to deny it.
George W. Bush invaded Iraq in 2003 after putting together a “coalition of the willing” and going to the United Nations to secure a resolution permitting that action. His Secretary of State, Colin Powell, made a presentation to the Security Council in which he presented proof that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. Obama’s Secretary of State has argued forcefully for U.S. intervention in Syria to rid the nation of Assad, but America currently has no international support, including longtime ally Great Britain.

Bush’s intervention in Iraq, March 2003 to April 2009, led to casualties whose estimates range from 110,600 by the Associated Press to more than a million by the Opinion Research Business Survey. The intervention in Libya in 2011 had estimates of casualties of protesters, armed belligerents, and civilians ranging from 2,000 to 30,000.

Even a “limited” military action in Syria would inflict more casualties, adding to the 100,000 that Assad has already slaughtered and is likely to expand the war into Lebanon, home to Iran’s proxy, Hezbollah, as well as Jordan and possibly Turkey. Americans are telling their representatives in Congress not to engage our military.

Writing in The Weekly Standard on September 6, Reuel Marc Gherecht, a senior fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies and a contributing editor, dissected the problems posed by Syria and Iran, along with al Qaeda. “When it comes to the Middle East, Obama’s presidency has largely been predicated on two ideas: A hegemonic America is a bad thing, and the second Iraq war was a serious mistake.”

“Time has been unkind to Obama,” said Gherecht. “The withdrawal from Iraq has not left that country better off…al Qaeda now boasts, along with Iran and its militant Iraqi allies, that it drove the Americans out of the country.” Hardly a week has gone by since American military forces left that bombs by Sunni militants have not killed Shiite Iraqis.

In Syria, as Assad’s forces have been unable to quell the rebellion, he has turned to the use of poison gas.

What kind of president would throw in the world’s lot with evil al-Qaeda?

What kind of a president could reportedly sleep when four courageous Americans were being slaughtered in a terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya—but within a week of the first anniversary of the tragedy send the U.S. military to fight side by side with al-Qaeda in Syria?

What kind of president could play 15 rounds of Spades while the SEAL Team 6 sent by him was taking out Osama bin Laden?

What kind of president would allow his Secretary of State to announce to the world that Saudi Arabia would be willing to finance the U.S. attack on Syria?  John Kerry could have added and “we’ll borrow the rest from China”.

No kind of president.  And that’s precisely what Barack Hussein Obama really is.
Obama has always needed to be the ‘Man from Nowhere’ in order to avoid accountability for anything he does.

This ‘Man from Nowhere’ cuts and runs from his own words.  That’s what Obama did yesterday in Sweden when he said: “The World set the red line, not me”.

Like so many cowardly deniers in the world today, Obama refuses to acknowledge that in many places, including Syria, Muslims are killing Muslims.

What kind of president on the day before he was to sell congress on attacking Syria, would send out a White House video addressing the Islamic Society of North America’s 50th annual convention, congratulating Muslims for “the many achievements and contributions they have made to American society from its early history to the present day”?

The Most Embarrassing President of My Lifetime

“Speak softly and carry a big stick.” — Teddy Roosevelt
“The buck stops here.” — Harry Truman
“I didn’t set a red line.” — Barack Obama

Barack Obama is, without question, the most embarrassing president of my lifetime — and that is saying something, since my life so far has encompassed 12 presidencies, some of which have brought a lot of embarrassment to the nation. Even Richard Nixon, with his Watergate scandal, Jimmy Carter, with his malaise, and Bill Clinton, with his lewd behavior in the Oval Office, could not top this president for pure, unadulterated disgrace.

Of course, in Obama’s case, it is not a matter of personal scandal like it was for Clinton. By telling the world a year ago that he was drawing a red line in the hot desert sands of Syria — that red line being the use of chemical weapons — he created the debacle that currently threatens to engulf the Middle East. He blustered at the time that if the regime of Bashar al-Assad crossed that red line, there will be a price to pay. No one yet knows what that price will be, but from the current discussion, it appears that it will involve the destruction of at least three camels, four sheep, a half-dozen goats and an abandoned aspirin factory. That oughta show ‘em!

What it will do, in all likelihood, is unify the Islamic crazies in the Middle East and turn Assad into a regional hero, emboldening him to attack Israel, secure in the knowledge that the United States has no stomach for a wider war.

Israeli Official Calls Barack Obama Coward : Freedom Outpost

With Barack Obama's Rose Garden statement on Saturday, the Israeli website Marriv is reporting that an unnamed diplomat official in Jerusalem bluntly called Barack Obama a "coward" for stepping back from an attack on Syria.

"Obama is a coward; it is obvious that he does not want to attack and is looking for reinforcement [for this approach]. It is hard to believe that after Congress turns down his request, he will go on an operation like this on his own, without support from the international community, without the support of public opinion and without Congress," the source said.

The site went on to say that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wanted to see specific action by America in Syria and restore credibility and strengthen the American deterrence in the region.

Maariv reported (English translation from Hebrew via Google):

"Netanyahu wants to attack American symbolize the centrality of the U.S. in the region and will also through a strong message against Iran and extremists in the region. PMO estimated that the American government under the presidency of President Barack Obama wants to reduce the military presence in the region and get involved in wars in the region. However, the desire to engage in domestic issues and foreign policy move focus from the Middle East to the Far East. Despite the differences between the crisis in Syria and Iranian nuclear program, Netanyahu fears American hesitancy to act Syria sends a negative message to Iran that the U.S. military will not act to stop its nuclear program.  According to the sources, it is difficult to avoid the impression that following the American hesitancy Israel will probably be left alone and forced to act alone against Iran without U.S. Israeli officials estimated negative impact of U.S. hesitancy will also increase the motivation of extremists like Hezbollah in the Middle East.  Some estimated that Obama's reference to Congress is an attempt to buy time to find diplomatic solutions to prevent an attack. One possibility is that Assad will destroy or transfer its chemical weapons arsenal to Russia or another country at a price of no attack. Several senior diplomats said that Assad forwarded messages in this regard to the Russians. However, no official confirmation."

Syrian Rebels Connected to Benghazi Terrorists - CowboyByte

As President Obama prepares to make good on his Syrian “red-line” promise, new information shows the very people a U.S. strike would benefit are connected directly to the same al Qaeda terrorists who attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on 9/11.

U.S. intelligence agencies earlier this month uncovered new evidence that al Qaeda-linked terrorists in Benghazi are training foreign jihadists to fight with Syria’s Islamist rebels, according to U.S. officials. Ansar al-Sharia, the al Qaeda-affiliated militia that U.S. officials say orchestrated the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. diplomatic compound and a CIA facility in Benghazi, is running several training camps for jihadists in Benghazi and nearby Darnah, another port city further east, said officials who discussed some details of the camps on condition of anonymity.

It is time for the first step to restore the Constitution

May 27, 2012
by David DeGerolamo

The 92 Syrians killed by the Assad regime will become the rallying point for Western intervention in yet another war or kinetic action. The truth is that there never was a UN ceasefire. Like Iran, Syria talks and the West appeases. This is not a call for war; although war will be the convenient excuse to misdirect our attention from an EU (and then US) economic collapse. The truth is that Syria knows that whatever they do, Putin will back them up militarily. The same reasoning applies to Iran. If Putin is the key to the Middle East, why is Obama not concentrating on the root cause? Or is he waiting to be reelected in order to have more flexibility? We have to consider the possibilities that:

1. The president of the United States has no interest in the Middle East other than to establish a Muslim caliphate.

2. The president has every reason to appease Putin as a fellow Communist as he was taught by his childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis.
3. The president has placed Islam over Israel.
4. The president has made the United States a "paper tiger" in the world's eye.
5. Congress, the Supreme Court and the US military are not going to save our nation.

Item number five needs to be further explained.

As the UN, the US Congress has been rendered impotent by individual greed, partisan politics and the administration. Obama's plan to bypass Congress and the Constitution went unchallenged by both Congress and the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is more concerned with prestige than power. Proof? Eric Holder's mismanagement of the Department of Justice. We now live in a country "without rule of law" (WROL). Any country which does not (or will not) enforce its laws is only a precursor to tyranny or revolution. Our military generals and admirals have sworn allegiance to the commander-in-chief. However, the more important points are the politics, power and money that these military leaders are enjoying or constrained by. What does a retired military leader do? They start (or work for) a military subcontractor where their monetary spoils are used to purchase Plan B estates outside of the United States. This Ayn Rand scenario as outlined in Atlas Shrugged is also the same strategy as the "leaders" in Washington. If Plan A works, they will enjoy even more power under a dictatorship. If Plan A fails and the people restore Liberty and the Constitution, Plan B is also a great life. What did you think a $5 trillion deficit last year was buying besides votes? So where does that leave the People? If the Constitution is not being obeyed by our government, it is up to the former soldiers who have sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution to take action. Your oath and sacred honor dictate it. Your country is calling for you to save it. It is time for the first step to restore the Constitution. Or do we want our children to be shown in movies like below?
