The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday that would allow more beach driving access to Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
The measure, sponsored by Rep. Walter Jones, R-N.C., will go
to the Senate. The Senate took no action on a similar bill in 2012 after it had
passed the Republican-controlled House.
North Carolina Sens. Richard Burr, a Republican, and Kay
Hagan, a Democrat, back the measure.
