A 14 year old girl should not be 'sexual' yet--let alone bi or otherwise! No matter what the liberal left and the PC police say homosexuality IS a sin and you can't change that fact. Of course that doesn't mean we should not treat those sinners without compassion and prayer. ~ Lynn

Texas Gov. Rick Perry got put in the hot seat by a 14-year-old, allegedly bi-sexual young woman at a stop in Decorah, Iowa, last night. The girl challenged Perry on his stance on gays in the the military.
She interjected into an otherwise jovial exchange after the campaign event, and with cameras rolling, asked Perry:
”Im just wondering why you are so opposed to gays openly serving in the military and wondering why you want to deny them that freedom when they’re fighting and dying for your rights.”
Perry handled the loaded question with poise, though his answer did meander a bit. Below is the gist of of what he said:
“This is about my faith…there are a whole host of sins, homosexuality being one of them, I‘m a sinner and so I’m not gonna be the first one to throw a stone, it’s just like the Boy Scouts…that again is one of those issues that I don’t agree with… i don’t agree that openly gays should serve in the military…Don‘t ask don’t tell was working… I hate the sin but i love the sinner”

NC General Assembly
Defense of Marriage Amendment
As you know, the Marriage Amendment passed in the Legislature this week. It will be on the ballot for the May 2012 primary so that the people of North Carolina can vote on it.
The bill states that Article 14 of the NC Constitution is amended by adding a new section that states, "Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State. This section does not prohibit a private party from entering into contracts with another private party; nor does this section prohibit courts from adjudicating the rights of private parties pursuant to such contracts."
A Pro-Marriage Amendment rally was held on Sep 12th at the Halifax Mall adjacent to the Legislative buildings in Raleigh. The rally was hosted by The Upper Room Church of Christ in Raleigh and was attended by a diverse group of concerned citizens of both political parties. As we were walking toward the rally, some of them were saying that they just couldn't believe that in NC marriage would be controversial.
Inspirational leaders from The Upper Room Church of Christ addressed the crowd, including Pastor Patrick L. Wooden and his wife Pamela. Church coordinators for the event were Wanda Thomas and Anthony Wilson. They did a commendable job in getting people out because it was a huge crowd. Our own Felice Pete, of the congregation and President of the Wake County Republican Women, was there with her new baby. What dedication to the Defense of Marriage!
Kevin Daniels, President of the Frederick Douglass Foundation of NC was also a speaker and drew praise for his comments. The rally was inspiring and uplifting while giving evidence that marriage between one man and one woman is beneficial for families and reflects on our nation's Christian heritage. The people attending the rally made a difference in the legislative vote by showing that they care about the definition of marriage in NC.
During the next eight months there will be much debate from both sides. The White House has already responded to North Carolinians by stating that "President Obama opposes laws 'designed to take rights away.'"
In related news, House Republicans are seeking ways to delay the termination of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," enacted during the Clinton administration. Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT) expires on September 20, 2011. In brief, under DADT military members keep their sexuality preferences private.

Watt (D-12th, and Brad Miller (D-13th) DO NOT WANT TO PROTECT NC JOBS!The bill "Amends the National Labor Relations Act to deny the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) any power to: (1) order an employer (or seek an order against an employer) to restore or reinstate any work, product, production line, or equipment; (2) rescind any relocation, transfer, subcontracting, outsourcing, or other change regarding the location, entity, or employer who shall be engaged in production or other business operations; or (3) require any employer to make an initial or additional investment at a particular plant, facility, or location."
The House passed the measure in a vote of 238 to 186 with 9 not voting on Sep 15, 2011.
NC Representatives voting for the legislation to prevent the NLRB from overstepping its authority as in the case of the NLRB against Boeing in SC, resulting in potential job losses:
Renee Ellmers (R-2nd), Walter B. Jones (R-3rd), Virginia Foxx (R-5th), Howard Coble (R-6th), Mike McIntyre (D-7th), Sue Myrick (R-9th) Patrick T. McHenry (R-10th), and Heath Shuler (D-11th).

A case study of a long-range three-phase plan beginning to come together:
Just before Christmas we saw the initial implementation of Phase II of the Soros plan toward his dream of creation of the “one world government” concept, that being to weaken the greatest armed forces the world has ever known starting with repeal of the “don’t ask, don't tell” policy.
Phase I, of course, heralded the beginning of the downfall of the greatest free market economy in the world.
Phase III we could tab as signaling the downfall of the greatest communication system in the world.
Other than armed invasion, control of any nation can occur only if three major events are created and implemented:
1. The economy must be destroyed to facilitate rebuilding in accordance with the proper doctrine.
2. The armed forces must be neutered to the point of ineffectiveness.
3. The communication system must be controlled.
A cursory look at the Hugo Chavez kingdom down south reflects a classic “real world” example of this three-phase action, which he accomplished with great finesse. Our oval office “plant” learned much from this case study as all three phases are now in process right here at home — under our very noses.
Only one obstacle remains to ensure the icing on the cake: his re-election in 2012. This would be virtually ensured by passage of the Immigration Reform Act and the ensuing millions of votes created by a mere stroke of his pen. His next pressing initiative — he must have them!
It must not be allowed to pass.
Are we smart enough to thwart this madness and save our country? Only a short two years remain.

The Lamest Duck
President Obama at a White House press conference on Dec 22, 2010 was jubilant that the so-called "lame-duck" Congress delivered victories for him on a number of initiatives. "Obama said Congress had its 'most productive post-election period' in decades." "And it comes on the heels of the most productive two years that we've had in generations." (Bloomberg News) Recall that when Republicans were the "lame duck" Congress they passed zero legislation.
President Obama's only one regret is that the DREAM Act did not pass, but he has vowed to continue again with the next Congress. A true picture of "accomplishments" includes a 2011 annual budget that was not passed but temporary extensions were granted to keep the government running, a 2010 unemployment rate of 9.8%, and a deficit of $1.3 trillion.
Most Recent Congressional Actions
Senate--New START Treaty.
On Dec 22 the Senate ratified the new START treaty, a nuclear arms reduction treaty with Russia. The vote was 71 to 26 and 3 did not vote. Senator Burr voted against it and Senator Hagan voted for the treaty. Eleven Republicans broke rank and voted with the Democrats and they are: Senators Alexander (TN), Brown (MA), Cochran (MS), Collins (ME), Corker (TN), Gregg (NH), Isakson (GA), Johanns (NE), Lugar (IN), Murkowski (Alaska), and Snowe (ME).
A key problem with the treaty is that it allows Russian coordination over U.S. plans for a global missile defense system. Interestingly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently warned the U.S. Senate that the New START treaty "cannot be reopened, becoming the subject of new negotiations," according to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010
The legislation passed on Dec 18, which allows gays and lesbians in the military services to openly flaunt their sexual preferences. The vote was 65 to 31 with 4 not voting. All Democrats voted for the repeal, except Senator Manchin (D-WV) who did not vote. Both Senator Burr and Senator Hagan voted for the repeal.
Eight Republican Senators voted with the Democrats including Senators Burr, Kirk (IL), Ensign (NV), Brown (MA), Voinovich (OH), Murkowski (Alaska), Collins and Snowe (ME).
Senator Burr's vote was a surprise since he did not indicate his support for the repeal previously, and initially agreed with Republicans in a procedural vote in bringing the measure to the floor. However, when the final vote was taken he voted for repeal. Politico reported that Senator Burr said, "It's just that we've had a generational change and I have vehemently objected to making a policy change of this magnitude at this time. When cloture was passed, that settled that," "It's not accepted practice anywhere in our society, and it only makes sense. But again, I was vehemently opposed to the timing of this."
[In checking Senator Burr's website several times, no comment is posted concerning his vote, as of Dec 23, 2010. His office is closed for Christmas, but they will be contacted for a comment upon reopening.]
According to Politico, Senator Collins said, "I didn't expect eight. I was delighted but surprised with the vote from Sen. Burr. I think that was a gutsy vote and I was delighted. But he was not someone who I thought to lobby on the issue." [A lot of people were surprised.]
Gay-rights leaders and White House officials were on hand to congratulate themselves for legislation which just a week ago was thought to be dead. Repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell is "historic," according to Obama and reported by Politico. Joe Solmonese, president of the gay-rights group Human Rights Campaign said, "Today, we pulled out a victory from what was almost certain defeat just a few days ago."
Pat Buchanan believes this is a "political payoff" to the "homosexual rights lobby," at the "expense of our military." Among the military most opposed to the repeal are combat veterans who "warn that this will create grave problems of unit cohesion and morale." Buchanan also stated, "Marines have been sacrificed by the Democratic Party and Barack Obama to the homosexual lobby, with the collusion of no fewer than eight Republican senators."
Continuing Appropriations Act 2011
On Dec 21, the Senate passed a fiscal year (FY) 2011 funding bill to keep the government running through March 4, 2011. Senator Burr voted against it and Senator Hagan voted for it. The funding continues at the FY 2010 levels since the Congress has not passed a 2011 budget. The 2010 budget deficit is about $1.3 trillion, but the accumulated debt is nearly $13.9 trillion while the debt ceiling is at $14.3 trillion, according to the Wall Street Journal.
9/11 Healthcare Bill
The Senate unanimously approved the bill on Dec 22 for first responders who became ill as a result of 9/11. The $4.3 billion bill funds healthcare for the first responders at $1.8 billion and allows $2.5 billion to "re-open the Victim's Compensation fund," according to Senator Gillibrand's (D-NY) office. [Note: Exact cost figures are slightly different in other publications, but approximate these.]

Washington, DC - Mathew Staver, on behalf the Freedom Federation, made the following statement in response to the Senate's vote to repeal Section 654, Title 10, U.S.C. (1993), which is usually mislabeled by the subsequent Executive policy known as "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT): "Our armed forces should take heart, because the American people will not turn its back on you. This vote happened because opportunistic Senators - only days before Christmas - put political interest groups above supporting our men and women in uniform."
Staver continued, "This action will be overturned in the next Congress because it breaks the bond of trust that must exist between the military and those who command in the Pentagon and Congress. Today's vote will prove as costly to its proponents as ObamaCare was to its advocates. We promise a full mobilization of faith-based and policy organizations, veterans, and military families in the states of every Senator who voted for repeal of DADT against the advice of our service chiefs and during a time of war. Those Senators - and the Pentagon leaders responsible for this breach of trust - should understand that they will be the object of concerted political action against them."

After abandoning on Thursday night a $1.3 trillion omnibus Senate spending bill, Democratic Senate Leader Harry Reid filed cloture for the DREAM Act and a stand-alone repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” – both of which are now expected to reach the Senate for final votes as early as this weekend.
Reid, faced with receding Republican support for the spending bill (not to mention threats to read it aloud in its 1,924-page entirety), turned his attention instead to two bills that liberal Democrats hope to push through in the final days of the lame duck congressional session.
The Senate is now expected to vote on debate for both the DREAM Act and a repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” on Saturday morning, and the Washington Post reports that final votes on both bills could take place as early as Sunday or Monday.
The Saturday vote on “Don’t Ask” will be Senate Democrats’ third attempt this year to eliminate the policy, which prohibits openly gay men and women from serving in the military, and many believe it the best – and possibly last – chance to repeal the measure before a newly Republican-heavy Congress convenes in 2011.
“I want to thank Senator Reid for his leadership in bringing the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Repeal Act of 2010′ to the Senate floor for a vote,” said Independent Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, one of the bill’s sponsors, in a recent statement. “I am confident that we have more than 60 votes to end this law that discriminates against military service members based solely on their sexual orientation. Repealing ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ will affirm the Senate’s commitment to the civil rights of all Americans and also make our military even stronger.”
The most recent attempt to repeal “Don’t Ask,” which was tied to a larger defense spending bill, is believed to have failed as a result of procedural objections by moderate conservatives like Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown, who has said he would vote for repeal – but not until Congress had passed a tax plan.
Upon the passage early Friday morning of a sweeping bipartisan tax bill, however, Democrats expect they now have the necessary 60 votes to avoid a filibuster and pass the bill.
Republican Sens. Brown (who on Thursday confirmed his willingness to vote for the bill), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Olympia Snowe (Maine) have said they would support the bill, and all but one Democrat – West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin – is believed to be in favor of voting for repeal.
The prospects of the DREAM Act, however, are less clear. The measure, which would provide undocumented young people with pathways to American citizenship, has inspired criticism from Republicans and Democrats alike, and a Senate vote on the legislation was recently delayed due to lack of sufficient support for passage.
