Silencing dissent by SWATing messengers of truth

“Fasten your seatbacks and tray tables in their full upright and locked position. We’ll be on the ground shortly.” That is the final warning aboard the aircraft known as America, which will be using runway 39A to taxi to the terminal of tyranny. Most of the passengers aboard the luxury aircraft have no clue to what awaits them, as the captain and crew have lulled the majority into a false trance of tranquility.

The few aboard the aircraft who were aware of their final destination tried to warn the other unsuspecting passengers, who have been immersed in their personal electronic devices, sleeping or watching the airline version of the corporate media, the mouthpieces for their fascist facilitators.

So it is in the United States today. Except those aboard this hijacked luxury aircraft who have been warning others of the danger ahead have been the targets of an increasingly aggressive campaign to silence them - to silence us - by any means necessary. This is the historical hallmark of the last warning of the final approach to the terminal of tyranny.

They are coming for us

Most people are familiar with the accounts of Glenn Greenwald’s partner (ironically named David Miranda, at least to those of us in America), being recently harassed at Heathrow airport in the UK after Greenwald began exposing the scope of the NSA spying campaign. Despite the warnings that this action portended, most people simply decided to turn their personal devices of diversion louder, effectively drowning out the warning bells tolling for the death of one of the most important freedoms in America - the freedom to tell the truth.

The middle class or the middle men? | WashingtonExaminer.com

Washington Examiner
By Sen. Mike Lee
July 24. 2013

Today, President Obama will - for the eighth time in five years - officially "pivot" his attention back to the economy.
Unfortunately, word is that the president's remarks will not include any new policy initiatives, but merely repackage ones he has proposed before.
In other words, five years into office, four years since the recessions supposedly ended, and three years since his administration declared "Mission: Accomplished" on the economy (remember "Recovery Summer"?), the president's response is not just to give a speech.
It's to give the exact same speech.
Washington has therefore greeted the news of the president's latest "pivot" with a bit of a shrug. The speech will be more of the same we've heard for five long years - tax increases on the wealthy, more spending on green energy and other fashionable special interests, and Obamacare.
All of the above will be presented as an agenda to support and grow the middle class, which of course Republicans will oppose because they are - the president will insist - the Party of the Rich.
It's a shame the speech is going to be so widely ignored. Because the argument the president is going to make - that bigger government is the only thing that can protect the middle class from our unfair economy - is precisely the argument Republicans are going to have to refute if we ever hope to rebuild a national majority.
The good news is that the president's case is utter nonsense.
Big government is not the solution to unfairness in our economy - it's the cause.
There are three great crises in our economy today, each a crisis of fairness and equality - each caused in large part by the very policies President Obama supports.
First, there is the crisis of upward mobility. In America today, people born in poverty are often trapped there. It's not the free market that forces poor kids into underperforming schools, punishes single parents for getting married, and penalizes people for hard work - it's big government.
Second, there is the crisis of cronyism. If the economy seems rigged these days, that's because it is. Big government, big business, and big special interests manipulate the rules to profit at everyone else's expense.
Companies succeed not by serving customers, but politicians and bureaucrats. In Barack Obama's economy, Wall Street gets a bailout, Solyndra-gets a hand out, liberal interests get a carve-out, and everyone else gets left out.
And finally, there is the crisis of the middle class: stagnant wages, inequality, insecurity, and the exploding costs of housing, health care, and education. Contrary to the president's rhetoric, all of the above are directly tied to federal policy.
Wages rise when small businesses grow. But small businesses can't grow when crony capitalism protects large corporations from smaller competitors. And it's not a coincidence that the industries that have seen the worst inflation - housing, health care, and education - are the very industries controlled by government!
It is liberal big government - Barack Obama's government - that today ensnares the poor, privileges the rich, and squeezes the middle class.

No Wonder America Is Broke

To quote "Dragnet" let me start with "The Facts, just The Facts". But hold on to your hat, chair, lunch...these facts are "chunder-blowing" producing!

"Just The Facts".

1. Federal Spending has MORE THAN TRIPLED since 1965 with LBJ's "Great Society"/"War on Poverty", and NEARLY DOUBLED since 1980 with Jim Wright's & Tip O'Neil's "We just wanna help ya' " DNC Congress.

2. There CURRENTLY are 342 SEPARATE Gov. programs "for" Economic Growth- yeah, I put for in ""...cuz that hasn't worked so good has it?!!

3. There CURRENTLY 130 SEPARATE Gov. programs to "help" the disabled- yeah, help in "" for the same reason.

4. There CURRENTLY 130 SEPARATE Gov. programs to "help" at-risk youth...(oh, & noticed that's the 3rd time I said CURRENTLY BECAUSE the way Obama, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid are going this will QUADRUPLE soon.)

5. Through Gov. Waste, Fraud & Incompotence, the Federal Gov. spent MORE THAN $25,000 PER HOUSEHOLD IN 2008!!! BLIMEY! If the Gov. had just GIVEN US the $25,000 we'd better off!!! Besides IT'S OUR MONEY ANYWAY!!! And that figure is UP $4,000 since 2001 when it was a "paltry" $21,000 PER HOUSEHOLD!

6. The Budget DEFICIT- SO FAR- this year IS $1.8 TRILLION!!! And the year isn't over yet! Just the "stimulus" bill (2009/2010) ALONE dumps $6,700 PER HOUSEHOLD of NEW DEBT into the laps of OUR Children and GRAND CHILDREN!

7. THIS YEAR ALONE in California the Gov. will "spend"/WASTE $200,000 on TATTOO REMOVAL, $870,000 on a Red Wolf Breeding Facility, oh and $1.7 MILLION on a SWINE ODOR "RESEARCH"!!! This is ONE State! ONE year!!!

8. The U.S. Gov. THIS YEAR has spent $4,545,000 for "WOOD UTILIZATION RESEARCH"!! Since 1985 we've WASTED $90 MILLION ON THIS "RESEARCH"!!! Crikey! Who's doing this "research?!! The Amish?!!! I think we KNOW HOW to "utilize WOOD"!!

AMERICANS FOR PROSPERITY--Too Good to be True: S.3085

We’re often told that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

That’s definitely the case with the President’s new housing plan, which he has been pushing lately along with allies Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA) in the Senate.

Supporters argue that by making just a few tweaks in the mortgage markets, they can help up to 3 million homeowners refinance at today’s low mortgage rates. This, they claim, will save the average person $3,000 per year—all at no cost to taxpayers.

What they’re conveniently forgetting is that whenever the feds step in and rewrite mortgage contracts to favor homeowners, those on the other side of the contract (investors) get hurt. And it’s not just “fat cat” bankers that face losses, but pension funds, money market accounts, and mutual funds, too—where middle class Americans put away savings to buy that new house or fund their retirement.

Taxpayers will also be hit hard because the Federal Reserve, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and state and local governments are likewise big investors in these mortgage contracts. In other words, as with all government “stimulus” programs, this one will fail because the government can’t create new money in the economy out of thin air. Instead, they just shift it around (inefficiently, we might add).

Even if you buy the “stimulus” argument, past experience shows us this plan will do little good. This would be the President’s sixteenth attempt to fix the housing markets since he started tinkering in March 2009. Nearly all of those programs had underwhelming results, and house prices have actually continued to fall since that time.

When will the President and his friends on the Left realize that the best path forward is to get the government out of the way and let the housing market heal?

Take action today: Tell Congress you’re tired of housing bailouts!

Doggy glitter gets a share of farm bill billions

What does sparkly styling spray for dogs have to do with the 2012 farm bill?

It's among the thousands of products U.S. taxpayers are subsidizing through little-known programs that have been embedded in the farm legislation for decades and that lawmakers are now fighting to extinguish. The list of recipients of farm bill subsidies is long and sometimes laughable. There's money to study the healthfulness of peas and lentils. There are programs that support popcorn producers and winemakers. There's even a subsidy to encourage bird watching. "I know that mothers all over America, that have advocated for their children to eat their peas, will be pleased to know that there is a study that is going to cost them $25 million to study peas, lentils and garbanzo beans," Sen. John McCain deadpanned on the Senate floor last week.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Big government, big business by CCTA Chairman, Nancy Murdoch

May 18, 2012

It’s in vogue for big business and corporations to be bashed by the president, Democrats and liberals. Why don’t they share the same contempt for big government? Corporations and businesses provide jobs. The businesses themselves often pay corporate taxes and the individuals within the company pay taxes, as do their shareholders. Large corporations voluntarily provide money to build hospitals, help the poor and needy, and donate to worthy causes. Foundations are created by wealthy people of business to provide scholarships for students, promote the arts, fund school programs, and help communities.

On the other side of the coin is big government. As Ronald Reagan said in his 1981 inaugural address, “We are a nation that has a government — not the other way around.” Steadily, though, we are changing into a government that has a nation.

In 2009 a public sector worker averaged total income (salary and benefits) of about $61,000. The same government worker earned $123,000, plus great job security. Right after the stimulus while the public sector lost 2.5 million jobs, the federal government gained 416,000. It seems as if the largest percentage of jobs “created or saved” were government ones, or those of green energy companies that have since gone bankrupt, owing the taxpayers millions of dollars. In 2006 the Department of the Transportation only had one employee earning more than $170,000 per year; now it has 1,690. Last year a number of White House employees received raises ranging between 17-86 percent. When was the last time you received a raise that large?

Does anyone really think any of these government jobs will go away? Wasteful and lazy employees still get paid, doing what it takes to ensure job security, and taking luxurious vacations on our dime. Government entities are motivated to spend all or more of their budget or it might get cut next year, and to hire as many people as possible.

The demagoguery of bashing big business may make good political sound bites, but how wise is to rip into those who are paying the salaries of those in government? Some big businesses like GE are in bed with the government; it’s working out nicely for them as they outsource American jobs and ingenuity to China while avoiding paying taxes. Crony capitalism is far more common than the free market.

Companies with bad business practices soon pay the consequences, but rarely have enough power to affect the average person’s life. The monopoly of government has the potential to inflict tyranny upon its citizens. Nowhere in history has a huge, powerful government worked out well for the man on the street in the long run.

AMERICANS FOR PROSPERITY: POLICY ALERT--SUBSIDIES FOR BRAZIL?

It’s bad enough that the U.S. spends $3 billion every year on subsidies to prop up American cotton farmers. Such payments enrich agri-businesses at taxpayer expense, hurt consumers while causing cotton prices to rise, and stand in the way of free trade and the free market.

But did you know that the U.S. also spends nearly $150 million of your taxpayer dollars each year to pay off Brazilian cotton farmers? It’s all part of an absurd scheme detailed in our recent blog post: U.S. Pays Off Brazilian Cotton Farmers to Prop Up U.S. Cotton Industry

Special handouts to cotton farmers—both abroad and here at home—are just a few of several examples of wasteful subsidies that should be on the chopping block, and fortunately Congress will get a chance to take a swing at them summer.

Every five years Congress reauthorizes the various farm subsidies paid out by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in one giant bill—a grab bag of handouts to big agri-businesses and special interests. Given that the last “Farm Bill” was enacted in 2008, debate over the next one will be heating up on Capitol Hill in the coming months.

Eliminating ill-conceived farm subsidies not only takes the government’s heavy hand out of our economy, but it can also save significant amounts of taxpayer money. One proposal by Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) would cut back on these special handouts and save $136 billion over the next decade, all while maintaining a safety net for farmers.

Whether it’s in “green” energy or in agriculture, picking winners and losers has never proven to be a wise use of taxpayer dollars. Keep an eye on Congress as they debate the Farm Bill this year—voices like yours demanding an end to wasteful subsidies could make a huge difference.

The Scandal That Could Sink Obama

Monday, April 16, 2012
CRONYISM SCANDAL

80% OF DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY GREEN LOANS WENT TO "OBAMA-RELATED COMPANIES"

Under the guise of "investing" in so-called green energy, the Obama Administration is perpetrating yet another massive scam on the American people. It has now been documented that Obama is using your hard-earned tax dollars to line the pockets of his biggest campaign donors.

But don't take our word for it...

According to research done by Hoover Institution Fellow Peter Schweitzer, the hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer-backed loans handed to Solyndra - the now bankrupt company that was run by Obama campaign bundler George Kaiser - is just the "tip of the iceberg."

In fact, a staggering 80% of the federal grants and loan guarantees made to green-tech firms by Obama's DOE since 2009 were made to companies whose chief executive or chief investors were major contributors and big money men to Obama's 2008 presidential campaign.

TELL CONGRESS - STOP THE "GREEN ENERGY" SCAMS - SELECT HERE

Schweitzer's research reveals a devastating picture of corruption in Washington, D.C. Democrats, Republicans, Congressmen, Senators, administration officials and bureaucrats - the corruption is widespread.

Billions upon billions of dollars literally have poured into the coffers of Obama's biggest campaign donors whose quasi-green products, like bankrupt Solyndra's solar panels or the exploding Finnish eco-car, were not only questionable, but very clearly doomed to failure from the beginning.

Given the number of reports warning the Obama Administration against many of the "green" loans and government handouts, it is now obvious that the money transfers were never meant to rescue the American economy or create jobs... Rather, the program from the very beginning was about nothing more than lining the pockets of loyal Obama supporters.

TELL CONGRESS - STOP THE "GREEN ENERGY" SCAMS - SELECT HERE

Even the non-partisan Government Accountability Office (GAO) has chastised the Obama Administration for the manner in which DOE loans and handouts were granted. According to GAO:

•Many of the loans lacked adequate documentation and performance measures.
•Obama's DOE granted many loans based on favoritism while denying or disadvantaging other equally and often more qualified potential borrowers.

And DOE's own inspector general, Gregory Friedman, has testified that many of the contracts have been steered to "friends and family."

Yet despite all this, Barack Obama wants to double down on the program. In fact, Obama's Department of Energy has announced its intention to issue even more "green energy" loans. How many major Obama 2012 donors do you think will be on the receiving end of those new loans and grants?

Let's not wait to find out. It's time to be proactive and demand that Congress - holder of the purse strings - immediately step in and STOP ALL "GREEN ENERGY" LOANS and HANDOUTS NOW! Furthermore, we must demand a more complete and full investigation into the Obama Administration's green scam.

We must act now, before yet another taxpayer dollar is flushed down the green scam toilet.

TELL CONGRESS - STOP THE "GREEN ENERGY" SCAMS - SELECT HERE

Why America is Devolving Towards Absolute Government Control

The relentless encroachment of socialism upon America’s economic, cultural and governmental landscape is like a bad dream to most red-blooded Americans. When society changes it can seem like the ineluctable drift of evolution or chance. But in the case of America’s ongoing continued expansion of government powers, spiking taxes, and shrinking military, it’s all part of a planned elitist push into socialism. And one need not believe in conspiracies when contemplating this shift. In fact, for those paying attention, it was all outlined long ago by the Fabian Socialist society, and other groups such as the Frankfurt School, as explained below.

Why Congress should reject the highway bill

We're expecting debate to start on Monday or Tuesday in both the House and Senate on the infamous Highway bill. The legislation is how Congress plans to inefficiently fund transportation projects all across the country over the next few years, and it's a decidedly inept process.

The Club for Growth has been all over this from the beginning. They have issued Key Vote Alerts against BOTH the House and Senate versions.

Republican leaders in the House are claiming that their bill is a positive step forward because it doesn't include earmarks, but it's still remarkably inefficient. It contains no spending cuts and is paid for by dubious and uncertain offsets. It's also a bailout, paid for by you and me, for all of the poor funding decisions made in the past. The Senate version was written, in part, by Sen. Barbara Boxer, so you know it's not a recipe for limited government. One of the dumbest provisions, thanks to Sen. Max Baucus, would use auto import tariffs to pay for more spending. If that passed into law, the floodgates would open for new tariffs to pay for new highway spending!

Why Congress Should Reject the Highway Bill

Washington Examiner, Andy Roth
February 9, 2012

Everyone knows that if you take the bacon off a greasy cheeseburger, it’s still packed with tons of calories and saturated fat. So why do members of Congress think cutting pork from the 2012 Highway Bill should suddenly make it appetizing to fiscal conservatives?

The Highway Bill — the last one expires at the end of March — traditionally uses gas tax receipts to fund highway construction and maintenance, but it also finances “enhancement projects” like bike paths, transportation museums, and the infamous “Bridge to Nowhere.” Just over the past seven years, reckless spending on pork projects like these have caused the federal government to bail out the Highway Trust Fund three times to the tune of nearly $30 billion, according to the Heritage Foundation.

GOP leaders are claiming that fiscal conservatives should support the current bill because it does away with these projects. They’re even including expanded oil drilling as a sweetener to the deal, even though it has nothing to do with the Highway Trust Fund. But the bill is still a huge waste of money. It doesn’t cut any spending. It still requires higher-than-market wages that are a sop to labor unions. Worst of all, it perpetuates a system based on central planning from Washington.

Net Right Daily: Are We Over the Edge?

By Rick Manning

I wonder if we have lost our nation.

I don't come to the conclusion lightly. But, If those Americans who take more in benefits from the government than they produce have not already overwhelmed the system to form an effective majority, they are perilously close.

As early as elementary school, I wondered how the Roman Empire fell and could not understand it. I learned something of the dole system that was established to help make the poor dependent upon the Imperial government, but did not fully understand the correlations.

Now, America is on the verge of putting itself on auto-pilot to insignificance, crushed under the weight of debt to support those who have the political numbers to protect themselves from the necessary spending cuts that would save our country.

The government itself has grown so large that too many Americans look at it as the founder of their feast rather than a necessary evil.

So, while the people will rise up on issues that affect their entertainment like the Wikipedia led outrage over the Internet piracy bill, they are sanguine on real issues that cut to the heart of our nation's survival.

Since October 1, 2008, our nation has spent $5.2 trillion more than we have taken in, and the size and scope of government continues to expand. To put the total national debt into perspective, 15.2 trillion dollars is the equivalent of 15,251 billion dollars or one million dollars multiplied 15.251 million times. And we keep adding more than one million dollars multiplied by a million to it every year.

To make matters worse, the U.S. Congress' Joint Committee on Taxation found that in 2009, 51 percent of all households, which includes filers and non-filers, paid no income tax for tax year 2009. In the same year, the Committee also found that 30 percent of households that filed taxes received more money back from the government than they paid into it throughout the year.

In addition, the Wall Street Journal quotes just released U.S. Census Bureau data which shows that 48.6 percent of Americans live in a household receiving some form of taxpayer funded assistance.

That’s right. Almost one half of Americans are at least partial beneficiaries of some kind of government dole, and according to USA Today only 54 percent of the people who file tax returns end up paying any taxes at all.

Just sixteen years ago, three out of four tax filers paid some taxes, making the lower taxes argument a clear political winner. But today, with almost half of tax filers not paying any taxes and many of those actually getting more back from the government than they paid in, the political advantage enjoyed by those who pay taxes over those who demand services has been lost.

The political advantage lies with the 49 percent of the people who are in households getting taxpayer assistance instead of those who make the money and pay the freight.

Oath Keepers: Michael LeMieux: NDAA FOLLOW-UP AND FURTHER TREASONOUS ACTS

http://www.newswithviews.com/LeMieux/michael160.htm

By Michael LeMieux
January 4, 2012
NewsWithViews.com

Directly on the heels of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), that arguably makes US Citizens detainable by the military, comes the coup de grace in the form of a new bill called the "Enemy Expatriation Act."

But before I get into this bill let me preface that with a few observations.

First, our nation was founded upon the principle of individual liberty and self-determination. A belief that all men were created equal and endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights imbued within each of us at the time of our birth. We did not, and do not, derive our rights from government and therefore cannot legally have them taken from us by that government.

Second, as our Declaration of Independence states, the purpose of government is to secure the rights of its citizens, and as important, they derive their powers from the consent of the people. I ask you to think upon the following question in light of the previous statement: If the government derives its power from the people, how can the government wield power that the people do not have? If the people do not have such a power then the government, on their behalf, cannot likewise yield such power.

Third, the federal government was created by consent and compact, a Constitution. Within that Constitution the branches of government were laid out, defined, and scope assigned. Each branch of government was given certain powers to act for the betterment of the nation as representatives of a collective set of nation states that recognized the need for a single voice in foreign matters and as an arbiter between the states to ensure regular trade and commerce between the states and settle disputes.

To ensure that the federal government did not go further than the prescribed powers they enumerated the legislative powers of the government to a few distinct areas (Article 1, Section 8). But they went a step further, to emphasize the point to the federal government and to put to rest some resistance within the states, that federal government would not stay confined, they added the Tenth Amendment stating: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Now I ask of you; with the enormity of our federal government, with its massive spending, size, and laws that reaches into every aspect of every citizen's life, is our government today one of limited power? I think the answer is a blatant no.

So how does a government, such as ours, go from limited power that literally had no direct impact on the lives of the citizens of the states to one of tyrannical proportions? You cannot make improvements to your own property without permission and paying a tribute. You have the flow of toilets and shower heads dictated to you on what you can and cannot have. We have been using incandescent light bulbs for years but now the government is forcing you to use highly toxic, mercury filled, bulbs (for our own good). And the list of expansive government powers is as long as the list of government agencies and sub-agencies within the federal government. But it did not happen overnight.

We have heard from those of this administration that they do not want crises to go to waste. This is not a new concept - every major governmental expansion has been preceded by one crises or another, manufactured or real, it does not matter. Politicians know that they can take advantage of the public, using their positions of power, during times of national crises and pass laws they know they would not be able to do otherwise.

Inch by inch, nudge by nudge, taking more and more power with each passing legislative session until one day we will (have) awake to find ourselves living under an unconstitutional tyrannical government. I do not say this lightly, I have spent most of my adult life in the service of my country and have offered up my life if need be, but I am abhorred by what I have seen her become.

This brings me to this newest legislation by "our representatives" in Congress. This is Senate bill S. 1698, entitled as the "Enemy Expatriation Act." This bill is two pages, a novelty in the age of 1,000+ page bills, and states (relevant parts):

SEC. 2. LOSS OF NATIONALITY.

Obama Creates Thousands of Make-Work Jobs for “Low-Income, Disconnected Youth”

Keeping with the big government mentality, various federal agencies are creating thousands of positions to meet the goals set by a new Obama initiative to find jobs for “low-income and disconnected youth.” Announced by the president this week, the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Summer Jobs 2012 is being promoted as a private-federal [...]

ANOTHER OBAMA POWER GRAB IN DISGUISE!

Obama tries to seize mantle of small government from the GOP, Obama looks to merge six trade, commerce agencies into one

President Obama, looking to make the federal government leaner, is looking to merge six trade and commerce agencies, a senior administration official confirmed to The Hill……..

The president's proposal is an attempt to put Republicans on the defensive in an election year by forcing them to choose whether to support something they have long stood for — reducing the size of government and cutting spending. The plan could help Obama counter charges from the GOP that he is a big-government liberal who has tried to expand the bureaucracy during his term in office.

MAKING LAWS OBAMA’S WAY: ‘LAWLESS PROCESS’

Constitutional expert accuses Washington of 'headlong plunge'

Violating the rules of the U.S. House. Inappropriately handing out the legislative powers of Congress. Upending the legislative process Usurping the powers reserved to the states in the U.S. Constitution. These are not accusations or charges stemming from actions by Congress and the White House, instead, these are accomplishments of Congress and the White House in members’ purpose-driven plan to open the U.S. military to openly practicing homosexuals, lesbians and those with other alternative sexual lifestyles.

That’s according to constitutional expert Herbert W. Titus, of counsel to the Vienna, Va., law firm of William J. Olson, P.C., and teacher of constitutional law for almost three decades at a number of American Bar Association-approved universities.

But perhaps there shouldn’t be any surprise, according to critics, as Barack Obama has advocated that the nation should move beyond the “constraints” of the founding document.

That happened in 2001 when Obama told Chicago radio station WBEZ-FM that the U.S. has suffered from a fundamentally flawed Constitution.

Titus’ analysis, published in the William & Mary School of Law review journal, is titled “The Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Repeal Act: Breaching the Constitutuional Ramparts.”

He told WND that the results of such actions recently were made clear when it was revealed that as part of the U.S. Senate’s efforts to make its policy align with the military code, senators approved a repeal of the ban on bestiality.

The vote generated a furor nationwide when Les Kinsolving, WND’s correspondent at the White House, asked of Obama press secretary Jay Carney if, in light of the 93-to-7 U.S. Senate vote, whether the commander in chief approved or disapproved of bestiality in the armed forces.

Carney said, “I don’t have any comment on – I don’t have any comment on that. Let me go to another question.”

Kinsolving tried to ask whether the president thought the law would be endorsed by animal support groups, and Carney said, “Let’s get to something more serious.”

In the wake of the controversy, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., a contender for the GOP nomination for president, called the idea “abhorrent.”

In a commentary, Kinsolving later wrote, “On the air of my talk-radio program on WCBM Baltimore, which has Internet callers from across the nation – and where I often agree to disagree agreeably with callers – almost all of the callers were grateful that I asked that question of Press Secretary Carney.”

Titus said the fracas was just an indication of what will develop under the change that knocks down more than two centuries of precedent in the military.

“It’s an example of what you might call the dissonance between Congress and the bureaucracy,” Titus told WND.

But he wrote in his law review article that the real issue is the process that was used to destroy the standard for military behavior regarding intimate and personal relationships.

“At stake in the repeal of DADT is not just whether a seismic change in military policy is sustainable without damage to military readiness and unit cohesion,” he wrote.

“The lawless process by which the repeal is being accomplished shakes the American constitutional republic at its very foundations. The central purpose of separation of powers, checks and balances, and federalism in the nation’s constitution is to prevent the kind of headlong plunge taken by Congress and the president to repeal DADT in response to emotionally charged cries for equality,” he wrote.

“By the failure of both the legislative and executive branches to abide by the written covenant with the American people to exercise only those powers enumerated in the Constitution, and to exercise those powers only in accordance with the processes specified therein, the leaders of both major political parties have demonstrated that with the repeal fo DADT they have violated their oaths of office to support the Constitution of the United States,” he said.

Specifically, he said:  The DADT Repeal Act violated House rules

Titus notes that H.R. 2965, the eventual “repeal” vehicle for Congress, originally was titled “Enhancing Small Business Research and Innovation Act,” and the House rules require that “no motion or proposition on a subject different from that under consideration shall be admitted under color of amendment.”

“It is self-evidence that the subject of DADT – open homosexual behavior in the military – is not ‘germane’ to small business technology and innovation,” Titus wrote. “The purpose of the DADT Repeal Act – permitting open homosexual behavior – is clearly unrelated to H.R. 2965′s original purpose of providing federal assistance to small business technology and innovation.”

He wrote that in the past, the House even has determined that a bill to eliminate wage discrimination based on sex “could not be amended to ban wage discrimination on the basis of race.”

He also noted the DADT Repeal Act failed the jurisdictional test – whether the proposed amendment is within the jurisdiction of the House committee reporting the bill, which came out of the House Small Business and Science and Technology committees.

“The American people are constitutionally entitled that any bill enacted into law be handled in accordance with the established rules of proceeding adopted by Congress,” Titus wrote. Instead, “the lame duck Democratic leadership … used its supermajority to bypass [the] process.”

The DADT Repeal divested Congress of legislative power

The DADT policy was codified following official findings from Congress.

“The DADT Act directed the DoD to carry out a congressional policy in a manner prescribed by Congress in the exercise of the legislative powers vested in it by Article I, Section 8, Clause 14 [of the Constitution],” Titus said.

In the repeal, however, “Congress divested itself of its constitutionally entrusted legislative powers. First the so-called DADT Repeal Act repealed nothing. Rather, [it states] as follows: ‘No Immediate Effect on Current Policy – Section 654 of title 10, United States Code, shall remain in effect.’ Instead, Congress left the repeal decision to the Secretary of Defense.”

In short, he wrote, “Congress delegated the legislative power vested in it … to the unelected bureaucrats of the DoD. Even the president has only a nominal role – that of certifying to select congressional committees that the DoD exercised the discretionary poweres delegated by the repeal act.”

The result is that the act not only delegates legislative authority, it “transfers the executive power vested solely in the president …. into the bowels of the Pentagon.”

The DADT Repeal Act upends the legislative process

“Whatever policies and regulations are ultimately selected by defense officials to replace DADT, they will not be the product of a constitutionally prescribed process,” Titus wrote. “Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution states that a bill becomes a law when it passes both houses of Congress and is signed by the president, or, if unsigned, is not returned to the house of origin by the president within 10 days. Under the DADT Repeal Act, the rules and regulations governing homosexual behavior in the military will become law without having to comply with either the bicameral or presentment principles.”

He continued, “According to the DADT Repeal Act, it is the Secretary of Defense, an unelected official, who will decide what policy will replace DADT. … And what role does Congress play? No role whatsoever, not even a legislative veto.”

The DADT Repeal Act threatens powers reserved to the states

Titus explained that the National Guard, unless actually called into action, is made up of individual militias of the states – not a creation of Congress. He noted that the U.S. Supreme Court recently affirmed that in District of Columbia v. Heller, when the justices wrote that unlike armies and navies, “which Congress is given the power to create … the militia is assumed by Article 1 already to be in existence.”

Congress is given the power, the Constitution says, to “provide for calling forth the militia” and the power not to create, but to “organize” it, Titus argued.

“Therefore, the states have traditionally set enlistment standards for their National Guard units, the most prominent of which is that one must be a citizen of the state to enlist in that state’s National Guard. There is no good reason why the states may not also determine who, among those citizens, is ‘able-bodied,’ that is, has a sound body, not incapacitated for service in the military,” Titus said. “It follows that, as a matterof state law … a statement may determine that an active, open, practicing homosexual is ineligible to serve.”

He said the issue is not whether someone exhibiting homosexual behavior would make a good soldier, the issue “is the impact of his behavior upon ‘unit cohesian’ of the whole.”

The DADT Repeal Act plays into hands of the courts

Titus said tucked into the act is an acknowledgment that the DoD will review ongoing litigation.

That provides, he said, an open door for every type of homosexual influence to demand protection by the courts.

“Because the Supreme Court has recognized … that homosexuals have a fundamental right to ‘an autonomy of self that includes freedom of thought, belief, expression, and certain intimate conduct’ …. any military rules governing their expressive activity, including sexual conduct, will be perceived as an intrusion ‘upon personal and private lives.”

Activist judges undoubtedly will use the circumstances, he warned.

“There is every reason to believe that many judges will substitute their views for those of the military in the formulation and implementation of the rules that will govern homosexuals and their sexual activity in the armed forces,” he said.

It was in an interview with Chicago’s public station WBEZ-FM in 2001 that Obama charged that the Constitution is flawed.

He was discussing “redistributive change” and noted that the U.S. Supreme Court under Chief Justice Earl Warren failed in its rulings on civil rights issues in the 1960s because it failed to “break free from the essential constraints” in the U.S. Constitution.

MARK LEVY: The Reason for the Tea Party Season

2011 has come and gone, and for at least 47 percent of Americans it will be painless come tax time. For the rest of us who will experience some pain, Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn has released his annual "Wastebook" to remind us how excruciatingly wasteful our government is.

Despite Coburn's evidence of government irresponsibility, the tea party continues to be labeled as radical or clueless for wanting to rein in government spending. With that in mind, even the squishiest liberals shouldn't be able to justify the following expenditures, but I'm sure they'll try -- and China loves them for it.

AG Holder: Government Has ‘Responsibility’ to Automatically Register Citizens to Vote

Where in the Constitution is it written that it is the governments duty to do this? NO WHERE!

http://patriotsforamerica.ning.com/forum/topic/show?id=2734278%3ATopic%3A310989&xgs=1&xg_source=msg_share_topic

"All eligible citizens can and should be automatically registered to vote," and it's the government's "responsibility" to see that it happens, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said on Tuesday.

In a call to modernize voter registration, Holder noted that many elections officials still are manually processing new applications, many of them handwritten -- a situation that produces errors and confusion at the polls, he said.

"Fortunately, modern technology provides a straightforward fix for these problems," Holder continued. "It should be the government’s responsibility to automatically register citizens to vote, by compiling -- from databases that already exist -- a list of all eligible residents in each jurisdiction."

The lists would be used "solely to administer elections" and "would protect essential privacy rights," Holder told a gathering at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library in Austin, Texas.

Holder also called for "permanent, portable" voter registration that would follow voters to a new polling place when they move. "Until that happens, we should implement fail-safe procedures to correct voter-roll errors and omissions, by allowing every voter to cast a regular, non-provisional ballot on Election Day," Holder said.

Holder insisted that making voter registration easier is "not likely, by itself, to make our elections more susceptible to fraud." Voter fraud will not be tolerated by the Justice Department, he said, adding that "in-person voting fraud is uncommon."

Wes Vernon—Renew America: What would you do differently from Obama (if you wanted to bring America down)?

The Occupy Wall Street (OWS) crowd (with White House ties) is the natural outgrowth of several generations of classroom Marxist indoctrination. Foremost has been the hate-America "history" taught in writings of the late Communist Party member Howard Zinn

OWS parrots the communist line to the dotted i and crossed t. A revisit to a basic civics lesson therefore is in order. The reader is asked to consider: If you were a Marxist revolutionary or committed socialist, and you wanted to destroy America from within by stealth and in carefully planned steps, what is President Obama doing that you would not do?

A high-level OWS endorsement

The OWS battle cry is "the [top] 1 percent vs. the 99 percent [the rest of us]." President Obama has said to the occupiers, "We are on their side," and addressing them directly, he added, "You are the reason I ran for office."

And why shouldn't OWS and the current White House occupant not be in sync? He preaches class hatred all the time, most notably in his Kansas speech this past week wherein he all but declared total political war on the United States, especially its job-creators.

A civil right?

The Marxist view of the world is that if someone has more in worldly goods than you do, it means he is robbing you of what is rightfully your "fair share." And ergo, the "inequality" in and of itself has led to the "lousy economy" (in Bill Clinton's words).

The naïve brainwashed, along with those who know what they are doing, preach class hatred as political gospel. To them, there is a direct correlation between financial "equality" and freedom. In reality, there is no cause and effect there whatsoever.

Lesson 1 — Wealth is not created by government. Lesson 2 — In order for wealth to be created, (duh!) some people hire other people. And, yes — Lesson 3 — Absent incentive to hire along with adequate capital to invest, monetary equality ("level playing field?") can be attained only when all of us are equally poor and equally miserable.

Lesson 4 — Brace yourselves for this one: Material security is not a "civil right."

The ever-evolving "top 1 percent"

Let's suppose government confiscated every penny owned by the "top 1 percent." Would the Marxist preachers of class hatred be satisfied? Likely they would be rubbing their hands as they gleefully vilify the new "top 1 percent." Thus, the spiral continues downward until we are all equally poor and equally miserable.

At that point, an all-powerful government, in a performance intended to infer the process of "riding to the rescue," offers or imposes a takeover. That old slippery slope has been repeated with disastrous results, but the credulous fall for it every time. The end result has either been bankruptcy — currently a dangerous possibility facing the U.S. — or in some cases the ultimate result — the Holocaust or the Gulag.

Editorial by Howard Galganov: After The Cash Runs Out

Take time to read this, Mr. Galganov has really target the problem in this country (as usual)!
~ Lynn

There are many very good people who enter the rock and roll world of politics, who do so to make a positive difference. I know several of them. But, there are far too many who enter the realm of government for the wrong reasons, or become corrupted after tasting the sweet wine of influence. Having a group of politicians debate budgets, and how to pay down deficits while they grow entitlements, is akin to Mafia God-Fathers deciding how much money to take from their marks, as if the marks have a choice. AND WE’RE THE MARKS.
