Will Angry Left Sacrifice Obama In '12 Election?

Suddenly, liberal op-ed writers are trashing — even lampooning — Barack Obama as a one-term president ("one and done"). Centrist Democrats up for re-election in 2012 openly worry about inviting a kindred president into their districts, lest the supposed new pariah lose them votes.

Left-wing think tanks, environmentalists and academics vent their anger against Obama for supposedly being too soft on Republicans, and too ready to compromise with right-wingers. But what really caused the left-wing falling-out, less than three years after the hope-and-change crush on Barack Obama? For now, polls.

Obama's popularity has fallen to little more than 40% approval. Suddenly, Democrats worry the public anger could be contagious. It might infect them as well, in the way a sinking George W. Bush hurt congressional Republicans up for re-election in '06.

Yet the left cannot fairly blame Obama. After all, he rammed through on a strictly partisan vote the century-old liberal dream of a federal takeover of health care — something that Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson and Bill Clinton never could do. Keynesians never dreamed that a president could actually borrow $5 trillion for domestic spending in less than three years.

The Obama administration even tried to shut down a brand-new Boeing aircraft plant on the shaky argument that the company might thereby be hiring fewer union workers somewhere else.

For environmentalists, Obama kept oil producers out of new fields in Alaska, the American West, the Gulf and other offshore sites. Hundreds of billions in borrowed federal money went to failed "wind and solar" plants to jump-start "millions of green jobs."

NEW BERN: Important Board of Election Meeting

Here is a non-partisan meeting. The NC BOE is sending someone from the compliance dept down to New Bern Wed October 27 – 3PM in the Co Comissioners’ chamber to hear from interested parties about the malfunction of the iVotronic s all around the county – the state for that matter.

Please come out and be a part of this if you can!  We would like to pack the place. Maybe the overflow can parade out front with signs like Stop Stealing Our Votes and I want my Franchise back.

Hopefully all of the media, including TV will be there, so we need a good crowd.

SEE HOW THIS CAN AFFECT AN A ELECTION!  This has been happening in Craven County, around the state of North Carolina and in other states!

Vote Flipping and Touchscreens  (2008)

There have been a number of recent reports of touchscreen voting machines "flipping" voters' choices in early voting in the US Presidential election. If true, that's a very serious problem, apparently confirming everyone's worst fears about the reliability and security of the technology. So what should we make of these reports, and what should we do?

In technical terms, many of the problems being reported may be related to mis-calibrated touch input sensors. Touchscreen voting machines have to be adjusted from time to time so that the input sensors on the screen correspond accurately to the places where the candidate choices are displayed. Over time and in different environments, these analog sensors can drift away from their proper settings, and so touchscreen devices generally have a corrective "calibration" maintenance procedure that can be performed as needed. If a touchscreen is not properly accepting votes for a particular candidate, there's a good chance that it needs to be re-calibrated. In most cases, this can be done right at the precinct by the poll workers, and takes only a few minutes. Dan Wallach has an excellent summary (written in 2006) of calibration issues on the ACCURATE web site. The bottom line is that voters should not hesitate to report to poll workers any problems they have with a touchscreen machine -- there's a good chance it can be fixed right then and there.

Unfortunately, the ability to re-calibrate these machines in the field is a double edged sword from a security point of view. The calibration procedure, if misused, can be manipulated to create exactly the same problems that it is intended to solve. It's therefore extremely important that access to the calibration function be carefully controlled, and that screen calibration be verified as accurate. Otherwise, a machine could be deliberately (and surreptitiously) mis-calibrated to make it difficult or impossible to vote for particular candidates.

Is this actually happening? There's no way to know for sure at this point, and it's likely that most of the problems that have been reported in the current election have innocent explanations. But at least one widely used touchscreen voting machine, the ES&S iVotronic, has security problems that make partisan re-calibration attacks a plausible potential scenario.

I led the team that examined the security of the iVotronic (and the rest of the ES&S system) at Penn for the State of Ohio last year. Among other problems, we found it to be particularly easy to tamper with the calibration of the iVotronic's touchscreen by entering its cofiguration menu. This can be done entirely from the front panel (the part voters have private access to), and doesn't require knowing any passwords or other secrets.

One of the simplest, and yet most important, configuration parameters of the iVotronic DRE is the calibration of its touchscreen input sensors. Calibration (which can be performed in the field through the screen itself) affects how voters' tactile input "maps" to different locations on the screen. If the procedure is performed incorrectly (or has been deliberately altered), voter choices might not be correctly recorded.

It is easy to surreptitiously re-calibrate the screen of an iVotronic terminal in a way that allows most input to behave normally but that denies access to specific screen regions (e.g., those corresponding to certain candidate selections).........

A terminal can be maliciously re-calibrated (by a voter or poll worker) to prevent voting for certain candidates or to cause voter input for one candidate to be recorded for another. The terminal will remain in this state until the problem is detected (e.g., through voter complaints) and the terminal correctly re-calibrated by poll workers (which may require consultation with the central county office). Voters may or may not recognize that their votes are not correctly recorded, depending on voter training and other factors.

While a maliciously calibrated terminal may be noticed by voters and can, in principle, be corrected in the field, the attack is extremely simple for a poll worker ..........and so may represent a serious practical threat. We note that iVotronic behavior consistent with such attacks has been reported in various jurisdictions during actual elections.

Some wording has been ommitted, so as not to further contribute to the problem.

NC FREEDOM

Be aware, Constitutional amendment on Nov. 2 ballot

By Sybil Stafford

On the Nov. 2 ballot in NC is a referendum for a “Constitutional amendment providing that no person convicted of a felony may serve as Sheriff.” For or Against? The actual law will read “No person is eligible to serve as Sheriff if that person has been convicted of a felony against this State, the United States, or another state, whether or not that person has been restored to the rights of citizenship in the manner prescribed by law. Convicted of a felony includes the entry of a plea of guilty: a verdict or finding of guilt by a judge, magistrate, or other adjudicating body, tribunal, or official, either civilian or military: or a plea of no contest, nolo contendere, or the equivalent.” The bill was sponsored by Rep. Sutton of District 47 and ratified July 1, 2010.

At first this seems like a good idea but after much thought I decided that it is a dreadful idea.

First: It is our civic duty to vet who we are voting for, preferably before the primary so we have the best person running for the office.

Second: We live in a country that is passing so many laws it is almost impossible to not break a law in normal daily life. Example: When you are born in this country if you do nothing you have broken a law because you have not bought health insurance.

Third: In Arizona Sheriff Arpaio is being investigated and sued by the federal government for enforcing the illegal immigration laws. He is a good sheriff that the government is trying to destroy.

Fourth: I believe there could be a situation where a corrupt sheriff would set up a good person whom he believed is going to run against him. Have him arrested and convicted by his cronies. And as mentioned in my third reason it could be any other branch of local, state or federal government.

Fifth: People have run for sheriff that are felons before and they were not elected. County governments are small areas where it is easy to find out about the people running, and the opponent will absolutely let everyone know that the person running against him is felon. The system works, we do not need a Constitutional Amendment to fix what is not broke.

Matthew Lyon served in the Fifth and Sixth Congresses of the United States (March 4,1797 – March 3, 1801). In 1798 he was found guilty of violating the Alien and Sedition Acts. His violation was he had criticized President John Adams. He was sentenced to four months in jail and a $1000 fine. While in jail he was elected to the Sixth Congress and his constituency paid his fine. In 1800 he cast the deciding vote for Thomas Jefferson for President when the election went before the House of Representatives because of an electoral tie.

We are not Homer Simpson! We can think for ourselves! We must keep the option to decide this matter for ourselves. The system has not failed us so why change it?

This amendment should be debated. People should not go blindly to the polls and vote without thinking about this.

Fake Poll Warnings: We are not alone

Friends of ALIPAC and members of the American media,

By now, many of you may have heard that both Fox News and CNN conducted polls in the last thirty days with some surprising results. According to the Fox News poll done via the firm Opinion Dynamics on August 10-11, 2010; a whopping 68% percent of Americans favor "giving illegal immigrants who pay taxes and obey the law a second chance by allowing them to live in the United States"!

Looks like FOX NEWS was following the lead of CNN when they released a poll run by the Opinion Research Corporation on July 16-21, 2010 claiming that 81% percent of Americans favor "creating a program that would allow illegal immigrants already living in the United States for a number of years to stay and apply for US citizenship provided they are employed and payback taxes."

Isn't that amazing everyone? An astounding 68%-81% percent of Americans want illegal aliens to stay and become voters?

Not only are we scoffing at this flagrant abuse of the truth that should be prosecutable as mass fraud, but so are the candidates for public office that have run their own polls in their districts.

These fake polls are the best money can buy and they are designed to confuse you, the candidates, and Congress.

The Open Borders Lobby and Amnesty supporters are using these two bogus polls to encourage illegal aliens to stay in America at a time when many are fleeing. They are also using these polls to lobby Congress and candidates but we have a plan to put a stop to this fraud.

Yet, we cannot underestimate the power of these bogus lies.

Thus, ALIPAC is beginning steps today to destroy these lies in full public view.

The fake polls contradict a poll run by Fox using the very same polling firm Opinion Dynamics run on May 18-19, 2010 that found in question #33 that 61% of Americans believe we need to enforce our existing immigration laws vs. 34% that believe we need to overhaul our laws.

Poll

http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/052010_Immigrationpdf.pdf

FOX News and Opinion Dynamics might want to give more time between polls before publicizing such direct and contradictory results. We are not sure what kind of nation shattering changes may have occurred that would shift public opinion so dramatically in favor of Amnesty in just two months.

Perhaps the answer is in the announcement between these two polls that Fox News owner and Newscorp CEO Rupert Murdoch now supports Comprehensive Amnesty for illegal aliens?

Fox News Owner Rupert Murdoch Pushes for Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

http://www.alipac.us/article5391.html

Might this dramatic change possibly explain why FOX NEWS has joined CNN in the mass fraud poll game?

Not only does FOX NEWS polling contradict, but so does a new Zogby International poll out today showing 70% percent of Americans support DEPORTATION for illegal aliens!

http://www.alipac.us/article-5617-thread-1-0.html

In fact, our current collection of polls and surveys on the matter at ALIPAC, which is the top collection of polls on this subject in the nation, has been updated today and now includes more than 50 polls that contradict the claims by FOX and CNN that 68-81% percent of Americans want the illegals to stay!

Take a look and study these results carefully so you will know how Americans really feel about illegal immigration. You must understand clearly that you speak for the majority of Americans and that some of these other polls are lying by trying to cast your view as the minority view.

(Link Found on ALIPAC.us Homepage Top Center)

If we were to believe the false claims by FOX and CNN of mass support for Amnesty for illegal aliens that would allow illegals to become voters thus destroying any hopes of future border security or immigration enforcement in America, however, there are some major problems with this logic.

Let's assume for argument's sake that American citizens are really that dumb.

This would mean that 70% percent of Americans support deportation (August 20-23, 2010 ZOGBY International Poll), but not for the illegal aliens currently in the US who can pay taxes, a fine and stay. This would mean that 69% of Texans and over 60% of all Americans want an Arizona style law in their state (Rasmussen Reports, July 2010), but not for the illegal aliens already here to be affected by it. It would mean that 70% of Americans favor sanctions on employers that hire illegals (Rasmussen Reports, June 2010), but not for the ones currently hiring illegals which can pay a fine, taxes, and become legal.

It would mean that while 80% percent of U.S. voters oppose proposals for government-backed health-care plans for illegal immigrants (Rasmussen Reports poll, June, 2009), 77% of American adults are opposed to making drivers licenses available to people who are in the country illegally (November 2007, Rasmussen Reports), and 81% oppose in-state tuition for illegals (Civitas Poll, NC, 2005), that 68-81% of Americans favor allowing illegals to stay, have healthcare benefits, licenses, and in-state tuition.

These wild conflicting numbers just DO NOT ADD UP!

ALIPAC is so confident that we are right and these new claims by FOX and CNN are wrong, that we are going to recreate the polls they ran. If for any reason ALIPAC's new polls should show that 70-80% of Americans want the illegals to stay, we will give full and public consideration to disbanding ALIPAC.

We will make that wager here and now because we know we are right.

For now, we are updating our collection of scientific polls and we will be sending accurate polling information to every federal candidate in America.

We want every ALIPAC supporter to know the truth and be confident as activists in that truth.

We will make an announcement soon about how we intend to reproduce the CNN and Fox News polls and put the raw data results on public display online and circulate them to the nation via national press release.

It is time for these fraudsters who are using their mega wealth and influence to conduct this mass fraud upon the American public to know that the the truth has more power than lies and that we are well equipped and prepared to get the truth to the American public.

The current federal laws, and requirements of the US Constitution, combined with more than 60% percent of Americans want the illegal aliens to go home. They are already going home in large numbers, and that is how it is going to be in America.
