October 1, 2012, 7:00 pm:  Craven County Commissioners Meeting will be held at Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary School as part of recognizing Craven County’s 300th anniversary in 2012.  Citizens who have asked to speak include Bill Harper on ‘Proud and American’, Ray Griffin and Sam Laughinghouse on prayer, and Hal James on the county’s 300th  celebration and NC Eastern Region Council.  The elementary school is at 2000 Farm Life Ave., Vanceboro, NC  28586.

 

October 3, 2012, 3:00 pm:  Dan Forest, Conservative Candidate for Lt. Governor of NC will host a Town Hall Meeting for the Jones County Community at Gypsy’s, 126 W. Jones St., Trenton, NC.

October 3, 2012, 8:30 pm:  The Lenoir County Republican Party will host a DEBATE VIEWING PARTY at GOP Headquarters, 1603 W. Vernon Ave., Kinston, NC.  Come on out and watch the  first Presidential Debate with your fellow Republicans and Friends. We'll provide the salsa and chips, popcorn, soft drinks and water BUT we'll let you provide the entertainment, because you'll be welcome and encouraged to yell at the television.  Contact:  Michele Nix

October 6, 2012, 8:00 am:  Craven County GOP Men’s Breakfast Meeting at the Emerald Country Club, New Bern, NC.  Our monthly meeting has been moved up a week because of the Mum Fest. October 7, 2012, 2:30-4:00 pm:  21st Annual Life Chain, our community will once again be profoundly reminded that ABORTION KILLS CHILDREN.  Once each year LIFE CHAIN invites the churches in each city and town across North America to stand on a designated local sidewalk and pray for one hour and a half, while holding one of the approved pro-life signs provided.  New Bern, NC Route:  MLK Blvd. from the Mall to IHOP, both sides of the highway.

October 13, 2012, 11:00 am-2:30 pm:  Moore Tea Citizens—Saturday Seminar:  Raising All Voices Movie "A Pebble In Your Shoe," Douglass Community Center, Southern Pines, NC.  Tim Johnson, founder of the Frederick Douglass Foundation, and Kevin Daniels, North Carolina chair of the FDF will be our two featured speakers. Pastor Joshua Haire, leader of the First Missionary Baptist Church, will express his views regarding faith and the history of blacks in America.  We will view the video, "A Pebble In Your Shoe".  In the film Dr. James Taylor, Pastor of the University Christian Church in Norman, Oklahoma since 2007, traces American history from the perspective of the Black voter. He reveals the history of the Democratic Party in its efforts to thwart Civil Rights for Blacks. He challenges viewers to reflect on why they vote as they do. He asks Black voters to come back home to Conservative values.
