Americans for Prosperity--ACTION ALERT!

June 4, 2013

North Carolina has a shot at expanding school choice for parents, but we need your help!

House Bill 944 – the Opportunity Scholarship Act – would create North Carolina’s first school voucher program. This bill, if passed, would give scholarships for students to attend private schools and provide increased educational freedom for families!

Help North Carolina expand educational freedom by contacting your representative to support House Bill 944.

Some state and local governments offer vouchers to help parents pay for tuition at a private school instead of enrolling their children in the local public school. Giving parents more resources to choose the best option for their children’s education has improved outcomes for these children, but it also has improved the quality of the public schools that now must compete for students or be left behind.

Eleven states and the District of Columbia have established this type of program – now it is time for North Carolina to step up for parents.

Click here to contact your state legislators and Governor McCrory and urge them to support House Bill 944.

This bill is not a partisan issue. Both Democrats and Republicans are sponsoring this bill. It is simply about increasing educational freedom for families.

AFP-North Carolina supports House Bill 944 – the Opportunity Scholarship Act - and we hope you will ask your lawmaker to do so as well.

Sincerely,
Dallas Woodhouse
North Carolina State Director
