After the SBI crime lab scandal and the
outrageous appointing of Roy Cooper’s lobbyist, a person with no law
enforcement experience to head the SBI, the General Assembly is considering
moving the SBI to the Department of Public Safety, a move considered for years
by Republicans and Democrats.
Cooper apparently released information
about an investigation into a political donor who may have broken campaign
finance laws. Cooper’s staff seemed leave the impression that
some of Coopers political opponents may have done something wrong, although
there is no apparent factual basis for that allegation and little likelihood
under existing campaign finance law.

There’s been quite a bit of suspicion for some time thatCharlotte
pastor Mark Harris’ Senate campaign was merely a stalking horse to peel Tea
Party votes away from Greg Brannon. Harris labels himself a
conservative — like Thom Tillis does. But he’s named
former congressman, NCGOP chairman and Ripon Society fanboy Robin Hayes as
his campaign chairman. Hayes’ longtime political strategist, Tom Perdue,
has also come aboard the Harris effort.
There’s been quite a bit of suspicion for some time that
Observers have been
quick to note how — in forums and other public events — Harris and his
supporters are quick to criticize Tea party favorite Brannon, but are silent on
Thom Tillis, the favorite of Establishment, left-of-center Republicans. In
some forums, Harris has spoken in defense of Tillis on toll roads and other
aspects of the General Assembly’s agenda.
But things appear
to be changing on that front. I’ve seen polling from pros — with
campaigns and unaffiliated — suggesting that Harris appears to be getting a
good chunk of votes in Tillis’ Charlotte-area home base. Perdue, the
Harris strategist, has upped the ante a little bit with some crowing to Roll Call, the DC-based “newspaper of Capitol Hill”:

Binky, The Shih-tzu, and the rest
of their knucklehead mainstream media pals have been piling on Greg Brannon these past few
days — amid giggling from Brannon’s political foes — since that finding from the jury in that civil
case was announced.
Pete Kaliner, an Asheville talk
radio host who used to do some serious reporting in Charlotte , decided to dig a little deeper
into Brannon’s courtroom experience. On Friday, Kaliner devoted an hour to Robert Rice, the CEO of the tech
company at the center of the lawsuit in question. I encourage every one of you
to listen to the full interview (about 40 minutes). I did, and
I learned a few things that I never would have known if I had relied on Binky

administration’s proposed crackdown on tea party and other nonprofit
groups that want to play a role in politics is quietly crumbling as opposition
builds across the political spectrum to new IRS rules.
Almost all of the nearly 70,000 public comments submitted as
of Monday night were vehemently opposed to the proposal, which would limit the
ability of social welfare nonprofits — those organized under 501(c)(4) of the
tax code — to even talk about candidates in the two months before an election.

criticized President Obama for reducing the size of the American military
including plans to reduce the Army to
the smallest force since before World War II.
Cheney pointed out that Obama's plans to cut the military
were "over the top," citing "enormous long-term damage" to
the military.
Cheney said Obama's decision was made for budget reasons,
not any strategic goal.
"He would much rather spend the money on food stamps than
he would a strong military or support for our troops," he said.

A Once Free Nation

fits and starts. America ’s
has occurred gradually.
Government conquers its citizens with gradualism because few
understand it. Gradualism is imperceptible force.
The first trigger of alert is when a few people come to
understand that government is organized crime and that government is in all-out
war with its own citizens. The central purpose of Personal Liberty

The U.S. Congress has, gradually, ceded its authority to the
President and to the alphabet soup agencies of government that it created or
allowed the President to create. Now the President rewrites laws on a whim, or

republics. The imperial presidency feared by the Founding Fathers is in full
operation. Yet the feckless Congress hardly whimpers about it and the people do

WSJ to Kerry: Flat Earthers were the “consensus” position

Last week, John Kerry burned 12 tons of carbon to travel to Indonesia and
declare global warming as the biggest WMD of all. In what has become
the general model of climate-change alarmism, he told his audience that Jakarta would soon be half-submerged thanks to the rising of the oceans
that the election of his boss supposedly stopped. The Chicken Little spectacle
was so embarrassing that Newt Gingrich suggested that Kerry should retire out of
embarrassment, if not national security. “A delusional secretary of state,” Gingrich tweeted, “is dangerous to our safety.”
In the same speech, Kerry referred to climate skeptics as
“Flat Earth Society” holdouts. That caught the attention of the Wall Street Journal and two fellows of the American
Meteorological Society, Professors of Atmospheric Science Richard McNider and
John Christy. Dr. Christy served at one time on the IPCC, the UN body that
pushes anthropogenic climate change as the bogeyman of our time, and shared in
its Nobel Prize along with Al Gore. Christy and McNider, however, teach a
history lesson to Kerry before addressing his shrieking hysteria on global
warming. It was the Flat Earthers who clung to “consensus,” and the skeptics
who turned out to be right:
Popular Medicare Drug Plans Are under Assault
A new Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
proposal would cause almost 14 million seniors to lose their Medicare Part D
stand-alone plans, says Devon Herrick, a senior fellow at the National Center
The Medicare drug program has been popular, and the number
of seniors without drug coverage has fallen 60 percent since the Medicare
Modernization Act (MMA) was passed in 2003. Seniors have a wide range of plans
from which to choose, and drug spending has actually been much lower than
projected. Costs per capita in 2013 were projected to be $3,047 but were
actually only $1,846, a savings of 40 percent per enrollee.
Of the 39 million Americans enrolled in Medicare, 36 million
of them have Medicare Part D drug plans.
Obamacare: The Terrifying Consequences To Healthcare

As the Obamacare debate rages, we hear much about insurance
companies, costs and people’s ability to pay. We hear the policy defended as
proponents tell us it will provide healthcare to those who never had it. Of
course, these proponents never seem to explain how those who couldn't afford
healthcare when it was a choice can now afford an even more expensive cost now
that government mandates it.
However, these debates about the pros and cons of Obamacare
basically focus on money. What about the real issue – healthcare? What will
Obamacare do to our medical system? How will it affect the quality of our care?
How will it affect doctor’s decisions as they attempt to take care of our
health needs? And, ultimately, in a system controlled by government bureaucrats
and government-written manuals – who will really be making the decisions that
determine our quality of life? These are the real questions that need to be the
center of the debate. And the answers are terrifying.
We’re Going Galt—Packing Up or Thinking Secession, Americans Have Had Enough
There is the
growing sentiment toward secession
Americans are fed up. They
feel ignored by representatives more interested in corporate connections than
the Constitution. They protest unelected agencies who spy on them and run their
lives at home. They complain about the speaker of the house who refuses to
follow the principals of his party.
They cry foul at a president using executive orders to force
his agenda. They’re angry at lawmakers who aren’t listening even when they do
answer their phones, and as taxpayers are overwhelmed with a bottomless pit of
debt. Even state legislators and local officials are under fire for taking the
bait from federal departments who now drive local school boards, electricity
flow and personal healthcare.
Some just shrug their shoulders and say “What can you do?” A
great many others, though, are engaging in the American tradition of migrating
and removing themselves to areas of the country where they feel they have more
control over their lives.

The political philosopher Edmund Burke once
remarked that all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good folks
to do nothing.
A glaring example of the impending triumph of a
constitutional evil that could be stopped by folks who have been largely silent
is the tyranny coming from the White House. The folks who can
stop this and are doing nothing about it are our elected representatives in Congress.
The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It
established the three branches of government, and it delegated “all legislative
powers” to Congress.
American law rarely uses the word “all.” Yet the Framers
chose that word precisely to confine the writing of law to Congress and to prevent a
president from altering federal law by the selective manner of law enforcement
and thereby effectively rewriting it.
The Framers sought to guard against the same evils by
compelling the president to swear at the commencement of his terms in office
that he will “faithfully” enforce the laws.

Opportunity Alliance on your radar. Conservatives need to be wary and need to
follow money from this group to Republican candidates.
A group of billionaires and multi-billionaires intent on pushing gay
marriage and amnesty has started an effort to pump money into the Republican
Party. The Politico report
makes clear as well that these guys want to align Republican interests to Wall
Street. As we see more and more every day, Wall Street’s interests are not the
same as Main Street ’s
interests.
This group will
push social liberalism within the GOP. They’ll start with gay marriage, but no
doubt over time will transition to abortion rights. That’s the way these things
typically happen. They’ll push amnesty too. And they’ll want to convince the GOP
that what is good for Wall Street is good for America , which is less and less
true these days. [...]

A little more than one year ago, Justina’s parents lost custody of her after disagreeing
with a Boston Children’s Hospital diagnosis that she has somatoform disorder, a
psychiatric condition. They believe she has mitochondrial disease, a condition
she had been receiving treatment for by doctors at Tufts Medical
Center
The Sneaky Tactic Some States Are Using Now That Parents Are Standing Up Against Common Core
As fed-up parents across the nation voice their staunch
opposition to federal Common Core standards, several states are trying a new
approach to appease them… by just changing the name in a “re-branding” effort.
In Iowa , Common Core is now referred to as “The Iowa Core” and as “Next Generation
Sunshine State Standards” in Florida .
Further, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed an executive order recently to scrub
the “Common Core” name from their math and reading standards. Louisiana is also reportedly considering a
name change.
