CCTA Watchdog Report- 1 April 2013

Two Subjects: Tonight's Craven County Board of Commissioner's meeting and Common Core

1) Tonight's Meeting- Unfortunately, the Progressives have taken a leaf from our book and will dominate tonight citizen's petitions.

(a) Tanya Roberts will tell us all about "National Healthcare Decisions Day." There will be an event in New Bern on 16 April 13 to emphasize the need for "end of life" decisions to be made in advance. I fear the real point is to lead us down a primrose path to government controlled end of life decisions. Maybe we will learn more tonight, but I doubt it.

(b) Dr. Robert Holmes will petition the Board about the dangers of fracking to our environment. In his attachment to tonight's agenda, he states that "it is said that eastern North Carolina is the only place that could accept the poisonous underground fracking waste." I wonder, said by whom? Well, progressives don't give us facts like that; they're too busy trying to scare us into behaving as they want us to behave.

We must get more conservative thinkers to petition the Board on matter's that concern us. We must also have a stronger presence at these evening meetings of the Board of Commissioners. Please come to the meeting tonight wearing your CCTA name tag if at all possible.

2) Common Core- I received a very nice letter from Dr. Lane Mills, Superintendent of Craven County Schools in which he said we can get more information regarding the curriculum at http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/curriculum/ . I urge everyone to go to that website and study it in detail. Let me know where you have concerns, and your Watchdog Committee will communicate them to the Board of Education and the administrative staff.

Respectfully Submitted,
Hal James
