An Action Alert from AFP of NC: A Time to Reform!

North Carolina needs real tort reform and we need your help to make sure it passes.

Predatory trial lawyers are looking to line their pockets while targeting North Carolina businesses. These frivolous lawsuits force companies to settle or pay millions of dollars in legal fees – which end up costing us jobs and leads to higher prices.

Help North Carolina put an end to frivolous lawsuits by passing urging your representative to support House Bill 415.

Everyone agrees that asbestos-related illnesses are a bad thing. However, there are several North Carolina companies that have been subjected to liability in asbestos-related cases that never made, installed, transported or had anything to do with asbestos. But because of unfair state liability laws, these companies are treated as though they are at fault in asbestos litigation.

It’s not fair. But there’s legislation under consideration right now to make things right – House Bill 415. This legislation will stop special interest trial lawyers from destroying jobs through frivolous lawesuits.

Click here to contact your legislator and urge them to support House Bill 415.

This bill is not a partisan issue. It’s about stopping predatory lawyers and letting North Carolina companies get back to business!

AFP-North Carolina fully supports House Bill 415 and we hope you will ask your lawmaker to do so as well.

Sincerely,

Dallas Woodhouse
North Carolina State Director
