DETERMINATION

A Message from Tea Party Patriots, September 17, 2012

Determination

Over the last several weeks, I have received emails from some of our supporters who say they think the system is so broken it cannot be fixed and our efforts are futile. They are angry at the Republican nominee who does not fight hard enough for our core values. They are angry at the Republican “leadership” in the House who are spineless and unable to make any real spending cuts.

At the same time, I have also had emails and conversations with Patriots who say they simply cannot sleep at night because they fret as they lay down that they may not have done everything within their power each day to make the most difference and impact they possibly can leading to Election Day. One Local Coordinator in the Orlando, Florida area mentally checks off all he has done each day to spread the word on our core values and if he fell short one day he knows what he must do different the next day. Another Local Coordinator in Virginia wakes up at 2 am each night and starts thinking about what he needs to do the next day to insure he is teaching everyone he meets what is at stake in November. These men are angry with Republicans as much as the emails from the people who are discouraged. They see our choice in 50 days as a stark contrast and are motivated to fight.

This week as I watched breaking news as our embassies were stormed in the Middle East and then around the world, bomb threats, university evacuations, Congress passing a Continuing Resolution to continue spending and to fund Obamacare for 6 months, the announcement of another quantitative easing that will be indefinite rather than fixed. The problems we face as a country seem overwhelming and often times impossible.

Two weeks ago on our webinar with Local Coordinators, one coordinator said that since the Supreme Court ruling on the President’s health care law she feels “grim determination.”

Dictionary.com defines determination as the act of coming to a decision or of fixing or settling a purpose; the quality of being resolute; firmness of purpose. Synonyms for determination are bravery, backbone, dedication, drive, persistence, and resolution.

As I read the breaking news this week, I am once again reminded of Winston Churchill’s quote, which I have quoted countless times to our Tea Party Patriots supporters, “Never, ever, ever, ever, ever give up.” I am also reminded of our Support Team member Keli Carender’s favorite quote, again by Sir Winston Churchill,

“If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a small chance of survival. There may even be a worse case: you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”

The election this November is going to determine 2 different futures for our country. President Obama had it right at the DNC Convention when he said this election is, “a choice between 2 different paths for America, a choice between two fundamentally different visions for the future.” President Obama has all but declared he will be a dictator if re-elected and Congress stands in his way. Those of us in Tea Party Patriots will have seen that and said he is doing it already throughout his first term in presidency. Now he is being so bold that he says it outright in the Time magazine interview:

"So my expectation is that there will be some popping of the blister after this election, because it will have been such a stark choice. Where Republicans refuse to cooperate on things that I know are good for the American people, I will continue to look for ways to do it administratively and work around Congress. And a good example of that is, for example, making sure that homeowners around the country can take advantage of these historically low rates and refinance.

There’s no reason Congress can’t move forward and at almost no cost to the federal government really boost the housing market and our economy. But if Congress won’t do it, we’ll keep on looking for ways to get that done without legislation."

If we as citizens allow a man who is very clearly saying there are two different choices for America and his way is to implement his agenda with or without Congressional approval, we are giving permission to this behavior.

Ours is a “choice between two fundamentally different visions for the future:” one where we adhere to the Constitution, the checks and balances, and maintain the rights of the citizens as ordained by our Creator not by our government or one where we allow a statist government, allow breaches in the rule of law to occur without checks or balances, where freedom will slip away at the cost of security and whatever the government decides we are entitled to have. Simply put the choice is freedom or serfdom.

You are reading this and involved in Tea Party Patriots because you choose freedom.

As soon as the elections are over, our work must continue and continue at full force no matter the outcome and especially if the Republicans win the Senate and the White House. The lack of true leadership in the Republican Party is startling. The fact that the Republicans just passed a deal with the Democrats to fund Obamacare for 6 months, a law that the vast majority of Americans want repealed. The fact that both parties and mostly the Republicans are backing off the forced sequestration cuts forged by the debt deal of last summer – just 14 months ago. Since Congress cannot even be trusted to keep the promises and laws in tact that they passed less than 18 months ago, we know we must watch every single thing they do to insure we return to a fiscally responsible, constitutionally limited government once more. We have and will continue to hold both parties accountable because we know politicians and parties are fallible. We will continue to defend, support, and endorse our core values because they will not fail us.

The challenge is daunting especially when looking at what has happened in America in just the past week. But, compared to other challenges America has faced in her history, is this challenge truly impossible for us? Our country started against all odds when a ragtag army stood up to the greatest empire in the world and demanded their freedom. Many said it could not be done. Most governments are designed to restrict the governed but we are a government of the people, by the people, for the people. Our country grew from a small nation to one capable of saving the world from Nazism. We defeated communism in the Cold War. Our free market system invented the modern world: light bulbs, telephones, airplanes, personal computers, ipods, iphones, and Google. Americans have consistently taken the more difficult road, beat the odds, and created a better future than most thought possible.

Our job is to remind our fellow citizens that our Constitution and the rights guaranteed therein are what made America’s accomplishments possible.

We must remind these citizens what is a stake and what the two choices for America’s future are. We must remind them that our choice for freedom is what they want for America as well. It will not be easy. Like the coordinators who have grim determination and cannot rest without thinking about all they are capable of doing to preserve our freedom, we too must evaluate our actions through Election Day and immediately following so our country’s voters choose the future of freedom on November 6. Join us to make the call, walk the neighborhoods, send the postcards, and do all the work it takes to insure there are more of us who cherish freedom than those who are willing to slide into serfdom on November 6. Then be prepared to keep fighting as soon as elections are over because the work of accountability will be just as urgent and perhaps even more difficult.

We can still beat the odds! We can prevent America’s bankruptcy and create a more prosperous America than ever. If, today, right now, we make the right choice for the vision of our future and fight “when our victory will be sure and not too costly.”

Let us have the determination, the boldness, the persistence, the courage, the perseverance, against all odds to create a more productive, prolific, prosperous, and plentiful America than ever before!

If you have not signed up to volunteer for the next 50 days, sign up to volunteer today!

Obama Pushes battleground state to expedite convict applications for election

A powerful group – with leaders who have personally donated tens of thousands of dollars to the Obama campaign and the DNC – has successfully pressured a key battleground state into reinstating the voting privileges of convicted felons just in time for the November election.

Virginia will be center stage in President Obama’s fight for re-election. Obama carried the state by seven percentage points in 2008, but political strategists believe the race will be much closer this time around. In Virginia, convicted felons permanently lose their rights to vote, hold public office and serve on juries. However, those rights can be restored by the governor – a typically lengthy process. Now the Advancement Project – which is also leading the leftist-driven charge to weaken voter ID laws in key states before the November election – has successfully pressured Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell into beefing up efforts to restore voting rights to felons before Election Day.

Should A Christian Vote for a Party That Snubs God?

Well, the DNC just wrapped, folks, and it looks like the Prince of Darkness has finally found his political party: the God-booing Democrats Booing God? Booing God? Who the heck boos God? I’ll tell you who: Satan, his principalities and powers, devil worshippers and DNC delegates, that’s who. Look, I get Democrats raising hell over a picture of George W. Bush, or Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s hairdo, or a video of Rosie speed drinking gallon jugs of chocolate milk … but God? Really? Hey, media: You can say what you will about Republicans and their foibles, but you’ll never have audio or video of them, en masse, telling God to blank off. Wow.

Letter to the Editor: DNC by Nancy Murdoch, CCTA Chairman

September 9, 2012

DNC

The Democratic convention in Charlotte was full of surprise, disorganization, chaos, intolerance, and vitriol. This certainly was not the Democratic Party of old. This is a party more focused on abortion on demand, paid by taxpayers, than the economic health and future of our Nation.

When candidate Obama spoke in 2008 of hope and change, is this the change we expected? A party where almost half booed God and Jerusalem? Who would have expected a delegate calling for the death of Mitt Romney? Or delegates agreeing the party platform should contain a plank restricting the amount of money a corporation can earn?

The sand sculpture of Obama says so much about those who support him. Usually we honor our heroes with marble or medal statues after they die. But admittedly, sand is appropriate for those who worship him. One delegate said she would support Obama regardless of what he wanted to do. No wonder God isn't important in their platform. They have their own Messiah.

When candidate Obama spoke of the end of red and blue states, did we think that meant we would be polarized as never before? Did we expect to see Democratic state party chairs to demagogue the opposition by comparing them to Nazis? Did we expect delegates and media pundits to ostracize and personally attack black GOP candidates? The Democrats portray themselves as the party of tolerance, but the tolerance doesn't extend to those who disagree with their leftist agenda.

It was amazing to see former military members openly support policies our country has fought wars to oppose. Our country was formed so all could have freedom. And even though we have had stumbling blocks along the way, America is the place where dreams can be realized, regardless of one's circumstances. It seems many in the Democrat party are confused as to where individual rights begin and end, and think laws should be made and enforced to uphold everyone's personal agenda, regardless of the consequences to others.

Never has an election been based on such opposing ideologies. On one side is the GOP with a platform of limited government, personal freedom and responsibility. Then we have the Democrats with as much government as we can't afford and as much regulation as executives orders can write. The differences can't be much clearer.

David DeGerolamo-NC Renegade:

Without the Rule of Law, We Have the Rule of Rulers

A Republic without morality will fall. It will also fall if it cannot or will not enforce the rule of law. In the case of the United States, the government in Washington means to destroy the country where all men are created equally by selective enforcement of the law. Our two tiered justice system has made a mockery of our laws, their enforcement and our natural rights. No other example of our downfall can be greater than the Undocubus. Immigration rights activists pull into Charlotte for DNC

CHARLOTTE, N.C. One is a stay-at-home mom of three. Another is a construction worker. One is a student who hopes to attend graduate school for math and economics. All of them risked deportation to demand greater rights for undocumented immigrants. They, along with 22 others, arrived in Charlotte Saturday evening on the “Undocubus.” The bus riders are part of a group of some four dozen riders who will converge on uptown Sunday for the March on Wall Street South.

TPN—Judson Phillips: No Free Speech in Charlotte

As America waits for the gathering of losers that is referred to officially as the Democratic National Convention, some people are expressing concerns that the Constitution has effectively been repealed in the convention zone in Charlotte.

From the Richmond Times-Dispatch:

Starting Saturday, someone walking through Charlotte's central business district could run afoul of the law by carrying water bottles, hair spray, socks or magic markers under sweeping security rules enacted ahead of the Democratic National Convention.

It would take a particularly strict reading of the rules for someone to be arrested simply for possessing one of those items, but the possibility exists — which worries protesters and free speech advocates. They fear authorities could trample on people's constitutional rights in the name of protecting public safety.

The changes to city ordinances adopted earlier this year for "extraordinary events" ban a long list of actions and items that would otherwise be legal from a more than 100-square-block zone. The area includes spots as much as a mile from the sports venues where the Democratic Party events are to be held.

The new rules have already been used for events before the convention and will remain on the books after it's over.

The special rules that went into effect at 12:01 a.m. Saturday could also bar anyone other than government employees from carrying handbags and backpacks or possessing soda cans, drink coolers, scarves, bike helmets, baby strollers or pets not specifically permitted as service animals.

A section banning "a container or object of sufficient weight to be used as a projectile" could be interpreted to include almost anything, from an apple to an iPhone.

Those caught violating any of these prohibitions could be subject to arrest and jail.

Similar prohibitions have been in place at past conventions, especially those following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Outside the Republican National Convention in 2004, New York City police carried out mass arrests, detaining hundreds of people for days in miserable conditions on a Hudson River pier. Most of those charges were later dropped or thrown out, triggering dozens of lawsuits against the city.

At the rain-soaked Republican Convention in Tampa earlier this week, officials banned umbrellas, baseballs and puppet-making materials. There, the rules went largely untested after only a fraction of the expected protesters showed up due to worries about Hurricane Isaac.

Charlotte's Uptown business district is home to the headquarters of Bank of America and substantial operations for Wells Fargo, two of the nation's largest financial institutions. The "March on Wall Street South" scheduled for Sunday is expected to draw thousands of protesters.

Members of Occupy Charlotte, who are helping to organize the march, said turnout for that and other protests could get a boost from demonstrators deterred from Tampa by the weather. At the other end of the political spectrum, tea party activists and other right wing groups are also planning protests.

The Democrats always claim to be champions of civil liberties until they become burdensome for the Party of Treason.

In case no one remembers, Charlotte is a part of the United States. We have a Constitution that guarantees freedom and liberty. While the Democrats prefer the police state, that is not America.

At this point, these rules are so draconian, I hope Charlotte is sued early and often. Perhaps if the city is bankrupted through civil rights lawsuits, no other city will be so anxious to try and act as if citizens do not have rights.

The DNC Platform: Treason Dares To Prosper!

How can any voter with common sense, a conscience, or a child, support this agenda?

Celebrate and encourage abortion as a rite of passage; which, in its most glorified state, is still the end of a human life. Proclaim it an accomplishment for women’s rights!

Attack private businesses and all successful citizens (except entertainers and athletes) as corrupt and/or greedy. Their success is never due to their own efforts. Marxism 101

Support private enterprise takeovers – at taxpayer expense – even though our forefathers, the Constitution, vehemently opposed any encroachment on free enterprise, individual liberties, and free competition. Bigger government means smaller freedoms.

Advocate welfare and food stamp usage, not self reliance, to maximize dependency of populace. Teach citizens how to maximize benefits and utilize fear of losing such benefits to quell dissent and ensure party loyalty.

Institute socialized medicine to leverage maximum control over people's well being, their daily lives.

Unlike Mexico, which actually has strict immigration laws, make all “illegal” aliens citizens and attach no criminality to their actions due to the fact a majority vote Democrat. It’s racist, not advantageous, to defend the border; even in a post 9/11 world.

Dismantle any and all religious references in our public institutions. No longer mention “God” in schools - discredit the Pledge of Allegiance - and replace it with secular education, which includes embracing homosexuality and gay marriage. Indoctrinate youth to trust progressivism and to obey centralized government.

Use pop culture – television, movies, music, the internet – to erode traditional values and cultural norms; violence, promiscuity, perversion, drug use, etc.

Designate “liberty lovers” – which include veterans – as the greatest domestic threat in a country predicated upon freedom. Likewise, the government can no longer racially profile or prosecute Muslims for shouting “death to America”.

Demonize Republicans – the party that freed the slaves and secured civil rights – as racist, sexist, white elitists bent on stripping away women’s and minorities’ rights.

Muslims to host events during DNC; up to 20,000 could attend-WHAT?

Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA), a non-profit that handles Islamic affairs, is planning “Jumah at the DNC,” which is several events to happen at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) this September. The events are clearly geared toward Islamic adherents. The Winston-Salem Journal, has reported that the group is saying, up to 20,000 Muslims will be in attendance to the celebratory happenings.

BIMA’s purpose in rallying large numbers of Muslims to participate in this event, Jumah at the DNC, is to make the general public aware that the Muslim community is a healthy and vibrant component to the American society. (OR OPPONENT?)  Being that these events will occur between August 31st and September 3rd; which happens to be the Labor Day weekend, we felt that it would be most convenient for Muslims to be able to travel without being inhibited by their work schedules and other obligatory duties. Also it is the best time for Muslims to capture national and international attention

Sigh: DWS' Lie of the Day

Guy Benson
Political Editor, Townhall.com
Apr 24, 2012 04:03 PM EST

We could probably make this a daily installment, although I'm not sure I have the bandwidth to keep up with the DNC Chairwoman's endless distortions. Her latest whopper came on CNN this morning, during a spat with conservative contributor Will Cain:

Ignore, for a moment, the crux of their dispute, and focus on this snippet:

“I’m a member of Congress in the minority, unfortunately, which I plan to help change in November,” Schultz shot back. “But the people who control the agenda right now in the House of Representatives are the Republicans. Ask them why they haven’t brought a single jobs bill to the floor since they took over the majority. Ask them why they are getting ready to allow the student loan interest rates to double.”

The House Republicans "haven't brought a single jobs bill to the floor" since January 2011? This is a wildly false claim. Case in point: The House recently passed something called, um, the JOBS Act -- which cleared the Senate and was signed into law by President Obama. At the time, I noted that the bill wasn't the first bipartisan jobs legislation this GOP-controlled House helped implement (numerals added):

Let the record show that as of today, the "do nothing," "Republican" Congress has worked with the president by (1) extending the payroll tax cut extension, (2) passing patent reform, (3) repealing a counter-productive withholding rule, and (4) approving three free trade agreements. These were all elements of President Obama's jobs agenda. Now he's (5) signed a job creation bill championed by House Republicans. Remember this roster of bipartisan accomplishments as our desperate president castigates his Congressional opponents as unflinching ideological obstructionists -- as he's guaranteed to do for the next seven months. The truth is that Republicans cooperate with this president when it's sensible to do so; they attempt to jettison his worst ideas, like cap and trade, Obamacare, higher taxes, and a second slush fund stimulus.

Moore TEA Citizens needs YOUR HELP.

We have a great organization! We have many super members (over 1,700!) and a wonderful cadre of committee coordinators and team leaders. When you reflect on all that Moore Tea Citizens has accomplished since our formation in early 2009, it really is quite amazing.

All of us work very hard, and all time is, of course, strictly on a volunteer basis. No one gets paid a dime. And everyone works very hard to make every dollar of donated funds go as far as we can possibly stretch it.

We continue to be VERY busy with our North Carolina Moore County TEA Party efforts and we continue to need YOUR HELP!

Our many activities require funds for printing, paper, Constitutions (we've given away 20,000 copies in just the past 18 months!) flags, balloons, decorations for parades, insurance, postage, rentals, printer ink, and many other needs.

Some of our members 'just do it' for Moore TEA Citizens, donating books, pamphlets, flags, food galore, and of course their TIME, TALENT AND TREASURE.

In addition, since the Democrat National Convention will be held around Labor Day weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina, we have decided to plan a "billboard campaign" in at least 16 major locations where the traffic is heavy. Our letterhead on this page shows you the design for these colorful, one message billboards.

RECLAIM AMERICA! VOTE! ENOUGH!

Once we meet our financial goal, the billboards will be posted from July until Election Day in November 2012.

We have also reserved mobile billboard coverage of Charlotte for the four days of the Democrat Convention.

The cost for the billboards is about $60,000. So far we have raised almost $48,000 (some promised and not yet received, but expected).

Hopefully this letter will trigger funds for two purposes. First, we ask you to help Moore TEA Citizens get support for its many activities, past, present and planned. The other purpose is to complete the funding for the billboard project.

Never has an election been more critical than this one. We have had ENOUGH - we must RECLAIM OUR COUNTRY!

We know you agree with our mission, and thank you for your interest and commitment to help. Contributions may be sent to Moore TEA Citizens, PO Box 4381, Pinehurst, NC, 28374, and will be acknowledged promptly.

We appreciate your generous support of Moore TEA Citizens.

The ‘People’s’ Convention?DNC in Charlotte to Feature Million-dollar tickets, luxury suites, concierge services for the 1 Percent

BY: Andrew Stiles - February 9, 2012 5:00 am

The organizers of the upcoming Democratic National Convention are doing everything possible to get around the same financial restrictions they once promoted in a concerted effort to make sure that America’s wealthiest individuals, corporations, and lobbyists contribute their “fair share” to the convention.

Host committee spokeswoman Suzi Emmerling, formerly of the liberal think tank Center for American Progress, insisted that convention leaders were not attempting to sidestep the fundraising restrictions. Democratic National Convention Committee CEO Steve Kerrigan, she said, had simply been “educating Beltway types about the new rules.”

“All of this is brand new,” Emmerling tells the Washington Free Beacon. “A convention has never been funded this way before, so there are a lot of false assumptions about what we’re doing.”

Democrats are billing the upcoming Democratic National Committee’s annual convention as a “People’s Convention,” funded by “the people.” At President Obama’s request, the host committee in Charlotte—which must raise $36.6 million to pay for the convention—has promised to refuse donations from corporations, lobbyists or other special interest groups, including unions. Individual contributions are limited to $100,000.

But living up to these ambitious self-imposed rules is proving more difficult than party leaders expected. Local sources say the DNC is approaching wealthy Bank of America executives in an effort to unload some of its premier convention packages. A number of these executives have been shocked at the audacity of the proposition, given the administration’s attacks on not only the bank but also on wealthy Americans in general. President Obama and his Democratic colleagues have repeatedly charged that wealthy Americans are not “paying their fair share” to the federal government in the form of taxes.

Steve Kerrigan, the committee CEO, recently convened a meeting with lobbyists and other Beltway power brokers at the Jefferson Hotel in Washington D.C. Democratic sources told Bloomberg that Kerrigan, a former national political director for Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.), touted an expensive array of convention “packages” that were aimed at attracting ultra-wealthy donors.

One of the options is the $1 million “Presidential” level, which includes a “premier uptown hotel room” and “concierge services,” as well as the $500,000 “Gold Rush” package.

Plain and Simple: DNC Wants Voter Fraud--There is no other logical reason to oppose needing photo ID for voting.

December 14, 2011

Like most people, recently I’ve been asked to present photo identification on a number of occasions without regard to my race, religion, or national origin. The majority of the requests I’ve received have come in circumstances many would consider more or less routine: checking in for a flight and passing through airport security; registering as a guest at a hotel; using a credit card when purchasing something more expensive than a meal or tank of gas; and buying over-the-counter medications. In addition, I was required to show photo identification while visiting the Department of Justice here in Washington.

In the last few weeks, however, my experiences in this regard have been of another sort entirely. On November 17, very much to my surprise, I had a medical emergency. The excellent physicians who treated me prescribed a battery of tests and evaluations by a number of specialists, with whom I had a series of appointments and office visits.

Bear in mind, I was referred to the various specialists for every one of these tests and appointments. So, the offices to which I reported knew I was coming; they knew in advance who I was and why I was there, and they had instructions and records forwarded by other medical professionals in hand when I arrived.

Yet, in every single instance, before these assorted medical offices would see me — and notwithstanding all of the information they had about me already — I was asked to present photo identification.

On the heels of these experiences, just this week I received an urgent email message from the “Director for Voter Protection” of the Democratic National Committee.

Seeing this title — Director of Voter Protection — I almost expected to read about measures being taken by the DNC to protect elderly white citizens from intimidation at the polls by the New Black Panthers. I thought perhaps the DNC was courageously seizing the initiative, since the Department of Justice has declined to take any action against such illegal voter intimidation tactics. Or possibly, I surmised, the DNC is announcing steps to assure that the voting rights of military personnel serving abroad will be protected against the numerous well-documented partisan efforts (by Democrats) to disqualify absentee ballots from our service personnel.

Reading further, I discovered that the email was not about these serious matters. Rather, it warned me of a “Republican effort to pass laws that restrict voting rights,” and of “these laws’ implications for real people.” The DNC, I was told, “will not sit idly by while the Republican Party attempts to infringe on the rights of American voters.”

Well, seeing this, I naturally read on to learn whether the SEIU had switched sides and would now be dispatching thugs to threaten would-be Democratic voters.

Instead, I found that the fuss is all about state laws that would require voters to present photo identification in order to confirm their identities at the polls. Just as I had to confirm my identity at various medical offices. Just as we all must when boarding a plane or checking in to a hotel.

Democrats, it seems, are adamantly opposed to asking voters to confirm their identities. Indeed, the DNC’s email claims that requiring voters to identify themselves violates “fundamental rights.”

Now, unless I’ve missed something, there is no fundamental right to vote without identifying oneself. Just as there is no right to board a plane without presenting proper identification. And I’ll bet one cannot get food stamps or government assistance without identification.

Certainly, too, as of today there is no “right” to commit vote fraud. Or, for that matter, any sort of fraud.

That brings me back to my medical saga. As a concerned citizen, I asked at several medical offices whether it was really necessary for them to ask me for my photo identification, and whether they have problems with people who lack such identification.

What I heard was that they do not have any problem, because “everybody” has “photo ID.”

N.C. GOP presses Democrats to hire locals for convention

The Democratic National Committee's pledge to use union contractors at its 2012 convention in Charlotte, N.C., is getting pushback from Republican state lawmakers who say the practice is undercutting local companies.

DEMOCRATS MISLEAD ABOUT FINANCING CONVENTION

Friends,

Today the Democrats lied at the DNC Kick-Off about “not taking corporate or PAC $$ to finance convention.” Their problem is that they are taking corporate $$ as was reported this morning. Below is our press release on it. Please share on facebook and twitter or contact me if you have any questions.   http://t.co/tPPZxJo

Point of Clarity- The problem isn’t that they are taking corporate $ (it’s legal), it is that they are claiming that they are not doing it.

Wasserman-Schultz and Gantt Mislead Public at Democratic Kick-Off--Host Committee is taking corporate and PAC $ for Convention

For Immediate Release
Contact: Rob Lockwood: (919) 828-6423
September 6th 2011

RALEIGH, NC – Former Mayor Harvey Gantt today at the “Democratic Convention Kick-Off” stated that the convention would be fully financed by “you the people” and “not by corporations or PACs.” This is simply not true. The facts were reported in today’s Charlotte Observer, which highlighted that the “Host Committee” is in fact taking corporate money.

DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz also made it a point to thank the ‘Host Committee’ for all their efforts to make this ‘the best convention in history.’

NCGOP Chairman Robin Hayes had this to say on the issue, “The Democrats have once again misled the public on how they are going to pay for anything. Taking corporate money is a violation of President Obama’s pledge not to do so, and they should not be allowed to campaign on faulty rhetoric. It begs the question: Does President Obama believe that it is okay for the ‘Host Committee’ to use corporate dollars to help his convention?”

“The new restrictions, however, don't apply to the host committee itself.

$15 million for committee

Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers, who co-chairs the committee, is quietly raising up to $15 million for the committee, in part from corporate contributions. That's on top of the $37 million in noncorporate contributions for the convention itself. Among other things, the money will go toward organizing and hosting events for the expected 35,000 visitors.

"We don't have the same restrictions on the host committee that are on the (convention)," says Murrey.

Wells Fargo, for example, expects to donate an unspecified amount of money to both conventions, says spokeswoman Alexandra Ball. And Belk Stores is giving the Democratic convention $100,000.

"We think it's a great opportunity for Charlotte," says Chairman and CEO Tim Belk. "It sort of puts Charlotte on a stage and we'd like to be supportive of it as much as possible."

Corporations also are permitted to give in-kind contributions, such as telecommunications equipment or vehicles. Republicans say any corporate contributions fly in the face of Democratic promises.

"Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee like to make big promises, whether it's swearing off corporate money for their convention or that they would turn our economy around," says national GOP spokesman Ryan Tronovitch.”

PATRICK GASPARD NEW DNC DIRECTOR

Why He Matters

At a Glance

Current Position: Executive Director, Democratic National Committee (since January 2011)

Career History: White House Political Director (since January 2009); Service Employees International Union Local 1199 Political Director (1999 to 2007); National Field Director for America Coming Together (2004)

Hometown: Democratic Republic of Congo

President Barack Obama was drawn to Gaspard because of their similarities - both are community organizers with family roots in Africa.

At first, Gaspard demurred, but eventually he signed on, serving as Obama's political director in the White House. He was also the President's choice to lead the White House Office of Political Affairs. President Ronald Reagan established the office, and it has since been attacked for politicizing the presidency. Karl Rove was political director during George W. Bush’s first term and used his perch to substantially broaden the office’s portfolio.

But in January 2011, Gaspard moved to the Democratic National Committee as executive director under former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine as the White House political shop closed and the Obama 2012 campaign began to form in Chicago, headed by Jim Messina. Gaspard is a community organizer who spent most of his career working with labor unions to organize protests and lobby for health care and education benefits. Until shortly before he joined Obama’s 2008 campaign as political director, Gaspard was a registered lobbyist for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). During the Democratic presidential primary, Gaspard used his labor ties to drive huge get-out-the-vote efforts in states with large union populations like Pennsylvania, Texas and Ohio.Darby, Seyward, “Getting to know Patrick Gaspard,” The New Republic online, Nov. 21, 2008(2)Darby, Seyward, “Getting to know Patrick Gaspard,” The New Republic online, Nov. 21, 2008

Could the party of treason turn any further to the left?

The new executive director of the Democratic National Committee is one Patrick Gaspard. Most people have never heard of Patrick Gaspard.

FROM TEA PARTY NATION:

Some in the Tea Party movement argue there is not a dime’s worth of difference between the Republican and Democrat parties. Those who argue this point need to take a look at what is going on in the party of treason.

The GOP is certainly not perfect. Although, at Tea Party Nation, we generally advocate allying with conservative Republicans, the Democrats have jump whole-heartedly into the lap of socialism. There is not even a pretense anymore.

The new executive director of the Democratic National Committee is one Patrick Gaspard. Most people have never heard of Patrick Gaspard.

Currently Gaspard does for Obama what Karl Rove did for George W. Bush. Becoming executive director of the DNC means that he will run the day-to-day operations of the DNC. He will control the DNC machinery.

And he is a total and committed socialist.

Gaspard joined the White House with a confusing resume that includes stints at ACORN, the SEIU and the Working Families Party. In Acorn, he was the political director for New York. In 2007, Gaspard became a registered lobbyist for SEIU. (Say, didn’t Obama say something about no lobbyists working for him?).

In 2001, Gaspard sent a letter saying that he was working for the Working Families Party in New York. The WFP is a small 3rd party in New York that is a socialist party. The WFP was also the political party for ACORN.

The ACORN tree is kept deliberately vague. Something like a mafia family trying to hide from the Feds. But there is no doubt that Gaspard is up to his ears in it. Gaspard is a student of Alinisky and like Obama grew up idolizing radical communists who hated this country and wanted to see this country turned into a socialist hellhole.

And this man is now running the DNC.

The conservative wing of the Democratic Party can forget about anything now. Oh, wait; the party of treason no longer has a conservative wing. The socialists in the Democratic Party have done a good job of purging conservatives from the party, at least at the national level. Can anyone name a conservative Democrat in the House or Senate? Not a moderate, a conservative. Someone who is branded a conservative by a conservative rating, such as the American Conservative Union’s ratings?

Gaspard’s ties to ACORN should trouble anyone, other than committed socialists, which is why you will hear no complaints from the Democratic Party. Recently in Las Vegas, a former Executive with ACORN, Amy Busefink, was convicted of voter fraud. ACORN itself will go on trial in April for voter fraud. In 2008, ACORN tried to register over 400,000 fake voters in Nevada, a state of only 2.6 million. Busefink also worked with Project Vote. Another distinguished alumni of Project Vote, a subsidiary of ACORN, is Barack Obama.

Socialism is the enemy of freedom and the Democratic Party should probably now be called the Socialist Party. Almost everyone in the leadership of the party of treason at one time or another was a member of a socialist party, from the Democratic Socialists of America, to the New Party to the Working Families Party.

When Ronald Reagan went to the White House thirty years ago this month, he set a goal of destroying Soviet Communism. He succeeded. We must set a goal of destroying socialism in this country before it is too late.

MORE LIES FROM THE LIBERAL LEFT

Balanced with truth from a real Patiot!

Read the Rant below from Ken Humphry, Chairman of the Carteret County Democratic Party and then the wonderful response which follows by Tom Austin, member of the Crystal Coast Tea Party and a marine.

TO THE EDITOR:

Free speech comes a real cost today: A bullet in the head, for instance. You have to admire a good clean headshot, done with gun control (using both hands). This is the lexicon of macho NRA gun lovers everywhere. He was all man. Who cannot admire a real man with a gun, or better still, a “real woman” — a former governor for instance, who can shoot an 80-year old blind moose with arthritis and bad knees with an NRA howitzer? “I dropped that sucker in his tracks!” An Annie Oakley from Wasilla! Men adore her. Sarah is a real woman in a world of real men. The icon and new normal in 2011. “We need to get our America back!” I tear up just thinking of it. All government is evil. All liberals are socialist, etc.

Shakespeare in 1592 seemed prescient, describing our political environment today: Chaos. We are edging closer. Crosshairs and words have consequences. Our Sarah: Don’t retreat. Reload! Blood libel!

Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair America, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge breaks to new mutiny,
Where civil hands, make civil blood unclean.

I can agree, to a point, with David Brooks, New York Times: “Political opportunism occasioned by this Arizona tragedy has ranged from the completely irrelevant to the shamelessly irresponsible.” There is no clear link to the Tea Party rage or the extreme right wing. But that is an over-simplification — a ho-hum — partly absolving those who stir hate every day: Hate radio hosts. Notice I did not say Talk Radio. But my issue with hate radio and the ilk of Limbaugh and Beck and Palin is already public record. So in this missive my position is consistent with my past. Beck, Palin, Bachmann and Limbaugh are those who fan hate in America. My opinion.

Gabrielle Giffords, her husband a Navy pilot and astronaut, read the First Amendment on the House floor — including the guarantee of “the right of the people to assemble peaceably” — and then went home to Arizona to put those words into practice. Her meetings were under the banner, “Congressional Corner.” She was gravely wounded by a young man filled with hate, a gun obtained in the most lenient state in the nation for qualifying to buy gun. Arizona NRA test: “Sir, do you have a pulse? Excellent! Here’s your automatic. Congratulations. The NRA welcomes you into the fold of Super American Patriots.” The NRA is the great enabler. Put your own meaning to this. Sell all the guns and ammo you can. Strap on your gun. Strut in public. Be macho man among boys: “I pack. Dida’ notice?” N.C. Rep. Heath Shuler packs. A bullet to the head of those who disagree with you is an efficient way to express extreme irritation. A 30-round Glock is excellent for taking out women congressmen, liberal judges and 9-year olds.

NRA? Not a peep. All hunkered in the weeds, sucking their thumbs, nervously wondering: “Now what?”

Note below some quotes from some of our self-ordained, far right conservative patriots. Did you miss these?

Michele Bachmann: “I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous because we need to fight back.”

Momma Grizzly: “Guys, let’s not retreat. Let’s reload.” Sarah Palin put crosshairs on Giffords.

Glenn Beck: “I’m thinking about killing Michael Moore, I would like to kill him. I’m wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. No, I think I could.” (Glenn is such a straight talker).

Sharon Angel: “You know if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies. (Guns). I’ll tell you the first thing we need to do is take Harry Reid out!”

Rush Limbaugh: “You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you dearly, James. Godspeed, sir.” Limbaugh: Conservatives hero.

I mean let’s face it. We didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back. I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.” Folks, isn’t that Rushbo-boy something else? He nails it!

I could fill page after page with public quotes of the hate, bigotry, racism spewed daily by conservative hate show hosts. Are most of the conservative talk show hosts haters? Are most of them racist bigots flying under the sanctimonious flag of “Patriots”? Answer the question for yourself. Listen to their own words! They have an intense dislike of anyone “who is not like us: You know, all them people who talk funny.” Foreigners? Like Kenyans? They hate Kenyans with a passion!

Arizona, Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik had it right. He is one courageous, truth-talking law officer. It is amazing when you talk truth about hate show hosts. They can’t stand it! They will unleash a wild-eyed, shocked defense of their hate-filled programs, their daily invectives. They rage: “You cannot publicly quote us — as we are!” Apparently, bad manners? Or did Sheriff Dupnik tell it exactly like it is? The prevailing first response, attitude to criticism for quoting them is this (Glenn Beck style): “Somebody needs to take that SOB out!” … for committing “the crime” of quoting them in public. See quotes above — again, please.

I have a hope that soon, very soon, that “Great Silent Majority” will step forward and say ENOUGH! Those who have until now stood quietly, silently on the sidelines, must act now with their words and letters to congressmen, to newspapers. Until now this GSM has only watched this angry, noisy, sanctimonious and at times scripture-quoting, hate-filled minority of the “far extreme right” that has co-opted headlines and airwaves recently. I hope good rational people will finally say: “Enough is enough” and begin to push back with words, letters and calls to Congress. My observation of the Great Silent Majority has been they don’t like to get involved, or as one friend told me: “I don’t like to draw attention to myself. Many of these people are dangerous.” All I can say is it is time for YOU to stand up. We have to be voices of reason, against their hate. Against their guns.   (Yes, Mr. Humphrey only hates anyone who disagrees with him or other leftists!)

God knows, since the age of 11 I have had guns, still do, and have hunted and fished. But I don’t worship the damned things. With continued silence, passivity, we stand to lose a lot in the coming years. Act now. Call, write your congressman. Do it! Last: Where is our clergy in all this?

Actions: Following my own advice, send your letter of concern, complaint about the hate-filled rhetoric of the conservative hate radio to me at: Push Back at Hate, P.O. Box 4084, Emerald Isle, N.C. 28594. I will hand carry these letters to Capitol Hill, to NRA Headquarters, to the Washington offices of Arizona Republican Sen. Kyle, and Arizona Congressman Trent Franks. The courageous outspoken sheriff of Pima County had it right. At least you can write one letter, make a call. How long will you just stand by?

Resonse to Letter from Kenneth Humphrey “Tombstone Politics - Legacy of Hate” Jan 16 2010.

Sir / Ms,

I would suggest you have one of the copy personnel do fact checks on any future letters from Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party. This last one is full of misinformation that takes only a moment or two to check and correct. Why would he do this? I don’t know. Maybe to use the tragic shooting even in Arizona to some political agenda. Being a democrat he doesn’t need to check his facts for that.

First he somehow equates the murders in Arizona with “Freedom of Speech”. In no way do these 2 match up. The shooter in Arizona was not a supporter of free speech. The reports are that among his favorite books were Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” and Marx’s “The Communist Manifesto”. This would place his beliefs in the area of the Communist Party and the Nazi (National Socialist Worker’s Party) Party which are totally against freedom of speech. The people that knew him say he was mostly apolitical but did have some “left” leanings. So with his desire for a socialist economy and control of the individual by the government doesn’t that put him way to the left of the TEA party groups? After all they, conservatives, believe in Freedom of speech.

Then he insults all hunters around the nation. I don’t understand that, what with him saying later in the letter that he is a hunter and owns firearms. If he is a hunter, and I am not saying he isn’t, I would think he would understand the need to use the correct firearm for the hunt and the animal to be harvested. I would also think he would know a moose does not live to be 80 and that no one hunts with a howitzer. Maybe he is being sarcastic about the use of a large bore firearm to take down a very large animal. Also I don’t recall Sarah Palin shooting a moose anyway. I do remember seeing her harvest a caribou. Maybe I didn’t see the show where she was moose hunting. Or maybe Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party doesn’t know the difference or was just passing on misinformation he got from his masters at the DNC and did not bother checking out his facts.

Why he tried to tie the shooting in Arizona in with the NRA I do not know. The NRA has worked with law enforcement nation wide to help develop rational laws to prevent firearms from getting into the hands of felons, people with a violent history or the mentally unstable. Arizona has such laws. The owner of the gun shop obeyed the laws. The Sheriff of Pimi County did not. If Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik had done his job correctly there would have been notations on the shooter’s files that would have prevented his buying a firearm from any gun shop in Arizona. It is my understanding the Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik knew the family and law enforcement had been to their home on several occasions because of the actions of the “alleged” shooter. None of this was on his record and any of it may have been enough to stop his buying a firearm. As for the campus cops at his local college, they should have called the police and seen the proper report was made about his actions at the school. Everyone claims to have known he was dangerous, but none took the action to see he got help or actions to protect the public. And you know something? The NRA was not involved an any of it, other then to help craft the laws needed to keep firearms out of the hands of felons, people with a violent history or the mentally unstable. So how do you hold the NRA responsible?

Then Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party finds fault with Gov. Palin saying that the conservatives should not retreat from their beliefs, but should reload with the truth, new people and votes to confront the liberals and Marxists that won the last Presidential election. I don’t seem to recall his having any objections when the left marched in the streets of DC calling for the death of Carl Rove. No objections to that from any democrat or other liberal as I recall. Gov. Palin calls for people to stand strong in their beliefs and the left calls for the murder of Carl Rove and you find fault with Gov. Palin? I don’t think I had ever heard of the term “blood libel’ before, but then I never looked for a way to hurt the Jewish people. As for Gov. Palin’s use of the term, I understand that according to Jewish leaders the term has been used over the years in ways other then the one it was first used for and has entered to language to be used in a different way then first intended. I understand that a Jewish leader, who is a democrat, stated that the way she used it was correct in the context used. So now Gov. Palin can’t speak unless it is cleared through the DNC first? What happened to the freedom of Speech Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party was so desirous of?

Then Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party tries to tie the TEA party and conservative talk radio to the shooter, but everyone that know him says he did not listen to conservative talk radio and was not connected to the TEA Party movement in any way. I still don’t understand why he has to address conservative talk radio as HATE radio when they do NOT call for violence in any way. Their speech is political. Mostly when race is address their call is for all racial divisions to stop and people to be addressed as individuals. Where is the hate in that? Is it hateful to help educate people about bills in congress and actions elected officials have taken that are seen as an abuse to the taxpayers and citizens? Is it hateful to call for the laws to be enforced? Is it hateful to see laws passed that are in their opinion an action against the Constitution and they call for people to know about it and be better informed? No, they are HATE radio because they do not knell down and side with the democrats, socialist and Marxist on the left.

As for Mr. Kenneth Humphrey’s, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party, comment about Glenn Beck saying “I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore” that was sarcasm. Do you understand that? He was using this sarcastic statement to show he could not do that because of his belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ. He went on to say that he would not condone any violence. But then the democrats did try to trash him for holding a non-political rally in Washington DC to call for peace and national unity and discussion. WOW! He calls for “civil dialogue” and your democrats and other leftist trash him.

As for the comments made by Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party about Rush Limbaugh praising James earl Ray and slavery, it took me less then 2 minute to find out that was a lie that the democrats and others on the left have been trying to spread for over a year. It also took the same amount of time to find out that Mr. Limbaugh is not letting this lie go by unchallenged and has taken legal action against others in the past. I thought Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party would like the chance to bring this up to Mr. Limbaugh’s legal staff so I sent him an e-mail with the link to the letter. Maybe Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party would be kind enough to let us know what happens. Personally I think that with Mr. Limbaugh, being the better man, may just look at the source (Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party) and let it pass this time.

Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party states he can fill pages with hate and racism and bigotry from conservative radio, which he calls HATE radio, but it seems that almost all of it I have seen put out by those on the left have been lies, satire or taken so far out of context that people have trouble finding where they came from. There should be a fact checker on this to keep them from embarrassing themselves. On the other hand I will not sit here and type all the racist and hate filled statements I have heard from the left. I don’t keep a list. I look at the source and disregard them.

And someone needs to let Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party know that Sheriff Clarence Dupnik of Pimi County did not know what he was talking about. He was just trying cover his backside by misdirecting peoples attention from his department’s failure to do their job correctly. That and he, Sheriff Clarence Dupnik of Pimi County, is a anti-2nd amendment democrat.

The rest of the rant Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party has going on I just don’t understand. It just seems to me that he, like so many on the left, are going to take this opportunity to place as many restrictions as they can on freedom of speech and conservative talk radio. What they have called for in the past is that it be mandatory for a commercial radio station to carry an equal amount of time for all points of view even if the listeners don’t want to hear the communist that are on Air America radio and even if they can‘t get a sponsor for them. And listeners have shown they don’t want to hear them because they went bankrupt. If they want to hear the socialist and Marxist view they can tune into PBS or NPR. These are the ones we are FORCED to help pay for.

So Mr. Kenneth Humphrey, Chairman of the Carteret County Democrat Party and other people on the left are going to use this tragic shooting to force an agenda no one wants and will use lies, misinformation and misdirection to do so. Shame on them.

Respectfully,
Thomas H. Austin,
Sgt. USMC (Retired)
Member Crystal Coast TEA Party Patriots
