YOUR Congress skipped town on 30 September to campaign. They will return mid November. for two weeks.
1. They did not vote to extend the tax cuts.
2. They did not pass any of the 12 Annual Appropriations bills for Fiscal year 2011 which began Friday 1 October.
3. They did pass a Continuing Appropriations bill, using the 2010 budget to keep the country in operation until December 2, 2010.
4. They did not pass the 2011 National Defense Authorization Act.
On Thursday, 30 September, they did introduce 52 bills in the house, and 18 in the Senate; most of which went directly to committee.
5. The Veteran's Benefit bill was passed and sent to the White House.
6. The Veteran's Housing bill was not passed.
7. They did pass the Coast Guard Authorization Bill (not funding)
8. This calendar year, Congress was in recess (not in session) from the last of December 2009 until mid January 2010. From January to the end of July they were off 61 days. From the end of July to September 10 they were not in session. This does the include the weekends they did not work between the various holidays.
November 2 is election day. It is time to take out the trash.
