Palombo Signs Contract from America

Identifies His Winning Economic Vision and Identifies Jones' Broken Promises

New Bern– Today, New Bern Police Chief (ret.) Frank Palombo, Republican candidate for the 3rd Congressional District, signed the Contract from America, a pledge to implement 10 bold reforms within the federal government. 125 conservative partners, including economic and conservative grassroots organizations and tea party groups, developed the 10 reforms by consulting the results of 450,000 votes cast by Americans on a range of issues.

"For 40 years I have upheld my oath to protect the Constitution, and today I am proud to sign this pledge to conservative, Constitutional policy solutions," said Palombo. "I take my promises seriously and I'm eager for the opportunity to help eastern North Carolina families take care of long-overdue business.” Principal among Palombo’s goals are cutting federal regulations, lowering spending, and replacing the current tax code.

Palombo continues to outline his conservative policy solutions at meetings with various groups in towns throughout eastern North Carolina. In a radio interview last week with Tom & Sadie, Palombo invited voters to scrutinize his record of leadership, comparing that record against the broken promises made by his opponent, 17-year incumbent, Cong. Walter Jones (R-NC).

“In 1994 Congressman Jones signed the Contract with America, pledging to a term limit of 12 years, and again in 2010 he signed the US Term Limits pledge,” continued Palombo. “Congressman Jones’ has broken multiple promises to term limits and that is unacceptable.”

Palombo, a believer in the Constitutional concept of citizen legislators, also signed the US Term Limits pledge. He went on to say that, “Over the past 17 years, eastern North Carolina’s conservative values have not changed, but career politician Congressman Jones has become much more liberal over time; it is time to clean house in Congress.” Currently, Jones is rated by independent, non-profit organizations as one of the most liberal Republicans in the entire Congress and also as the most liberal Republican from North Carolina.
