AMERICANS FOR PROSPERITY: CALL TO ACTION

AFP North Carolina and Mayor Pat McCrory Team Up To Support AOverride of Governor Perdue’s Vetoes

AFP North Carolina also urges activists to attend a rally Wednesday, July 13th at 11 a.m. at General Assembly
FYI, THE OPPOSITION IS ALSO PLANNING A RALLY AGAINST VOTER ID!

RALEIGH - Former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory will be urging voters to contact their members of the General Assembly this week as part of Americans for Prosperity North Carolina’s effort to override Governor Perdue’s job-killing vetoes of the Energy Jobs Act, Medical Malpractice Reform, and the Regulatory Reform Act.

People who wish to contact their lawmakers on these issues can CLICK HERE or call (919) 733-4111.

“Governor Perdue cast a series of highly political vetoes of bi-partisan legislation designed to create jobs in North Carolina. With hundreds of thousands of North Carolina citizens out of work, Perdue vetoed job-creating bills like the energy jobs act, the regulatory reform act, and medical malpractice reform,” said Pat McCrory.

“All of these bills would help create jobs by lowering medical costs, removing job-killing regulatory red tape, and encouraging home grown energy production. We can’t let Perdue veto our jobs and prosperity without a fight,” McCrory said.

Americans For Prosperity North Carolina will also be holding a rally outside the General Assembly this Wednesday, July 13th at 11:00 a.m. urging lawmakers to override Governor Perdue on these key issues. Activists are encouraged to attend and make their voices heard!

The State Senate is expected to take up veto override votes of the key job-creating bills Wednesday afternoon.

“Governor Perdue is standing with liberal environmentalists and trial lawyers instead of the people of North Carolina who need jobs. Lower health care costs, less regulation, and home grown energy production are three guaranteed ways to help increase employment but Perdue is standing in the way. The people of North Carolina must stand up and tell Perdue she can’t continue to kill our jobs,” said North Carolina State Director of Americans for Prosperity, Dallas Woodhouse.

“It is now clear that Perdue does not know how to create jobs but she sure knows how to destroy them,” said Woodhouse.
