She'd Be a Hero

I share this because these were my thought often while watching the Casey Anthony trial coverage!
If you're like me, you've probably heard just about all you want to hear about the Casey Anthony murder trial.

As you know, Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murdering her 2 year old child, Caylee.

Of course the nation wanted a conviction to help us feel better about the horrific death of this little girl.

But how is it that our nation can obsess over the horror of Caylee Anthony’s death and not see the parallel to abortion?

When I heard these comments by conservative commentator, Rush Limbaugh, it gave me pause.  If the child had died, what two years earlier in the womb, this woman would be a star. She'd be a hero.

You people in the media, if you really think she is guilty and you want to feel better about this just tell yourselves that she waited a couple of years to get an abortion and then you’ll feel better.

I think that while it may be uncomfortable to hear ... abortion is brutal, but it's never characterized that way ... and the reason is because there is an element of truth in it.

The only difference between Caylee Anthony and an aborted child is the location of their death -- one murdered outside the womb -- the other, inside the womb.

This is why I am so passionately pro-life.  My heart aches for every child whose life ends before he or she even gets a chance to take its first breath.

I am sad for the doctors and nurses who perform abortions because they believe they are "saving women's lives."

So many women who are already frightened by an unwanted pregnancy are misled and misinformed about the true nature of abortion and then pressured into having one.  I am angry about the lies women are told about their unborn child –- "It's a fetus, it's not a person."

It is a person.

Her heart beats 18 days after she is conceived.  All her body systems are present by 8 weeks and she can suck her thumb.

By 12 weeks she is fully formed, fingernails and all.

The truth is, abortion is the most extreme and brutal "solution" to the problem of an unwanted pregnancy.

I pray one day there will be the same outcry for the thousands of unborn children whose tiny limbs are torn apart and casually tossed into cold metal trash cans as there is now for the death of Caylee Anthony.

I also pray that the thousands of mothers entering abortion clinics today will have their hearts and minds changed towards life.

Will you join with me?  And if you can, today, please consider contributing to Americans for Life.
