September 27, 2011, 7:00-9:00 pm: Coastal Carolina Taxpayers Association (CCTA) Monthly Meeting at the Healing Grace Church. Our Featured Speaker will be Keith Dunn and will discuss "Restoring Our Constitutional Republic." To get to Healing Grace Church, take the Pembroke exit from Highway 70 in New Bern and go toward Trent Woods on Country Club Drive. Go a mile or two and you'll see the Emanuel and Dunn law office on the right. Turn right onto Wedgewood just past the law office. Go one long block, and bear right onto Red Fox. (This month our meeting is being held on September 27th to accommodate our speaker. Normally, CCTA meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month.)

October 2, 2011, 2:30-3:30 pm: NEW BERN’S 20th ANNUAL LIFE CHAIN. Annual prayerful protest scheduled for Sunday, October 2ndAs part of National Life Chain Sunday, the 20th Annual New Bern Life Chain will be held this Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 2:30 till 3:30pm. The location for the one hour silent protest against abortion will be Martin Luther King Boulevard in New Bern between the Mall and IHOP on both sides of the highway. The appropriate permits from the City of New Bern have been acquired. The New Bern Life Chain is one of hundreds held across the country on the same day. Once each year the LIFE CHAIN invites the churches in each city and town across North America to stand on a designated local sidewalk and pray for one hour, while holding one of the approved pro-life sign messages.
