HAVELOCK —
U.S. Rep. Walter B. Jones is scheduled to make a pair of stops in Havelock on
Aug. 26.
Jones,
R-Farmville, is scheduled to speak during the Havelock Chamber of Commerce
Federal Update Luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Havelock Tourist and
Event Center.
Jones is
expected to provide an update on issues in Washington and their impacts on the
Havelock area, including updates on defense issues, budget cuts and Base
Realignment and Closure that could impact Cherry Point air station and the
Fleet Readiness Center East aircraft repair and maintenance facility.
Col.
Blayne H. Spratlin, commanding officer of FRC East, is also scheduled to speak
during the luncheon.
The cost
for lunch is $15. Pre-registration is recommended.
