Contact State Senator Phil Berger and Ask Him to Call the Senate Back for a Vote!
I have good news and bad news for you. First the bad news: The North Carolina Gas Tax:
• Is the 3rd highest in the nation
• Was just increased by 2 cents per gallon (July 1, 2011)
• Is projected to increase another 4 cents per gallon (January 1, 2012)
The January increase will raise our gas tax to 39 cents per gallon, an 11% increase, making it the 2nd highest gas tax in the nation!
Now for the good news:
Thanks to your calls and emails to legislators, the North Carolina House recently passed a much-needed bill that would CAP THE GAS TAX. Unfortunately, Senate leadership refused to allow the House bill to be heard!
Please TAKE ACTION TODAY by contacting The Honorable Phil Berger, President Pro Tempore of the North Carolina Senate. Ask him to call the Senate back to Raleigh prior to the January 1 tax increase, and please ALLOW A VOTE TO CAP THE GAS TAX!
Senator Berger:
Raleigh Office Telephone: (919) 733-5708
District: Telephone: (336) 623-5210
Thanks for helping us stop this harmful tax hike on North Carolinians.
Sincerely,
Allen Page
