ENC TEA PARTY: Host Fair Tax Speaker

Next Tuesday, Jan. 24th at 6:30pm at the Warehouse Restaurant in Winterville, Mr. Dave Speckhardt will be visiting with the Eastern NC Tea Party to talk about the Fair Tax. Bear will give an introduction about the enormity of the fiscal crisis we have in this country.


What is the Fair Tax, you may ask?

It is a tax scheme that replaces ALL:

-- Federal income taxes (personal and business
-- Federal payroll taxes
-- Medicare taxes
-- The death or estate tax
-- Gift taxes
-- the alternative minimum tax
-- Capital gains taxes
-- Self-employment taxes

The Fair Tax:

-- Allows Americans to keep 100% of their paychecks
-- Taxes only NEW goods and services purchased for personal consumption, with no exceptions
-- Amounts to about $0.23 of every dollar spent on such new goods and services (which is what we are all paying now - at least!! - in embedded taxes in the good and services we buy. This is in addition to mandatory income taxes)
-- Makes taxes visible by eliminating hiddent taxes (the "embedded" taxes, which are the costs of doing business and bringing products to market under the current tax scheme and which are passed along to the consumer)
-- Ensures that ALL Americans pay their fair share of taxes
-- It expands the tax base to tourists, illegal immigrants, and underground economy (including drug dealers)
-- It is revenue-neutral
-- Every individual/family received a probate back from the government to cover any Fair Tax paid on necessity items (up to the poverty limit); hence it is fair to those in poverty

-- Investments are safe; Estates are safe
-- It necessarily requires the REPEAL of the 16th Amendment !!
-- It abolishes the IRS
-- No more April 15th submissions !! (Fair Tax is collected by already-existing state agencies and submitted to the government)
-- No more keeping voluminous tax records and receipts-- Will stimulate our repressed economy !! It will encourage businesses to establish or re-establish in the US
