It will be interesting to see what title Obama will take if he’s elected for another term: King, Pharaoh, Emperor or perhaps Chairman. It’s quite clear that president just isn’t quite enough as shown by his actions in the last three years. He has spoken on a number of occasions on how it’s too bad that he can’t go around Congress and just do what needs to be done. Does that sound like the leader of the free world, or someone preferring to be King or dictator?
And that pesky Constitution needs to go as well. After all, it’s a document of “negatives” that doesn’t address the redistribution of wealth as Obama thinks it should. It’s just not quite “fair” when some people have more than others, and after awhile you’ve earned enough money. I wonder when he’ll have enough money or power. He seems to enjoy living like a king.
Although Obama campaigned on promises of uniting us as a people (among other things), he has done everything to divide us. Those having the audacity to criticize or not agree with his vision of a bigger, all powerful government are deemed as racists, obstructionists, or worse. How dare the lowly minions stand in his way.
Let me be the first to say that by no means is Obama the first president to go around the Constitution, or even to hold it in such low regard; Wilson and FDR come to mind. George Bush wasn’t exactly stellar either, but his motives may have been more honorable.
However, the crux of the problem is not Obama, but citizens choosing to elect someone with so little executive experience and the most liberal voting record in the U.S. Senate. In addition, he had a number of questionable acquaintances. It’s amazing that normally intelligent people will believe the same lies every campaign season: lower taxes, a balanced budget, and a simplified tax code for example. The promises vary slightly from candidate to candidate, but most promise to make America a perfect place with prosperity for all. Do these people believe in the Tooth Fairy, too?
It’s been said that we get the kind of government we deserve. That being the case, I think it’s high time we examine ourselves. Do we really want freedom or do we want to be children cared for by an all powerful, corrupt government?
