According to the U. S. House Committee on Veterans' Affairs there are over one million American veterans out of work. They say:

Veterans Out of Work

• Vietnam Era Veterans: 217,000
• Cold War Era Veterans: 266,000
• Persian Gulf War Era Veterans: 179,000
• Iraq and Afghanistan Era Veterans: 235,000
