Medicare’s growth is unsustainable. Medicare provides health insurance to almost 50 million seniors and costs taxpayers more than $550 billion a year. By the end of the decade Medicare will spend almost a trillion dollars every single year. Both President Obama and Congressman Paul Ryan have proposed sweeping changes to the Medicare system.
In this new four-part series, Americans for Prosperity explores Medicare’s sustainability, President Obama’s plan, Congressman Ryan’s plan and Medicare’s best path forward.
Part I: What is Medicare?
Part II: President Obama’s Medicare Plan
Part III: Congressman Ryan’s Medicare Plan
Part IV: Medicare’s Best Path Forward
