Eastern North Carolina Tea Party--Updates!

ENC Tea Party UPDATES:

1. Please come out and learn about the NC Voter Integrity Project and help stop voter fraud in North Carolina in time for November ! (See Upcoming Events below)

2. The Pitt County Board of Elections voted 2-to-1 to allow Sunday voting during the Early-Voting period this fall. The request for Sunday voting was made by "Organizing for America" (ACORN). Please read my account of the hearing held at the Pitt County Board of Elections prior to their vote - http://encteapartyofpittcounty.weebly.com

3. There is a growing movement in North Carolina for a healthcare nullification bill to be introduced and passed next year in the NC General Assembly to shield North Carolinians from the liberty-killing Individual Mandate. The nullification bill will declare that the Individual Mandate is unconstitutional and that the Supreme Court decision was decided incorrectly. If you would like to see such a nullification bill, please go to the following site and sign the petition. (This is just to help the nullification movement get an idea of how well the idea is catching on).

Also, I've helped to organize a nullification coalition in the state. I've brought together various groups who are strongly committed to concept of Nullification as the rightful way to limit the size and scope of the federal government. These Nullification groups are working together to try to bring the nation's top Nullification experts to North Carolina to educate members of our state legislature, our sheriffs, and ordinary citizens. These experts include Thomas Woods (author of "Nullification: How to Resist ederal Tyranny in the 21st Century"), Michael Boldin (national director of the Tenth Amendment Center, the organization most actively pushing Nullification), Jason Rink (head of Foundation for a Free Society), Sheriff Mack, and others. It will cost $6,000 to reserve this panel of experts. If you can make a donation towards this event, please go to - http://www.nullifynow.com/northcarolina/

4. The GOP Victory Office is open for anyone who can find time to volunteer to help the GOP candidates.
The Greenville Victory office is your one-stop volunteer center for the entire Republican ticket. As you probably already know, North Carolina is a major swing state in the Presidential race. In fact, Romney does not have a path to the White House without winning this state.  The Victory office is open from 9am-9pm six days a week as well as Sunday afternoons. The office is located at 103B Commerce Street in Greenville. If you can volunteer to make phone calls (for all GOP candidates, including our local ones), feel free to stop by or if you can help in other ways, please contact Byron Aynes at (252) 267-5680 or email him at byron.aynes@ncgop.org. Bryon lives in Winterville and is in charge of the Victory Office efforts to get out the vote !

Wednesday, August 14 -- 6:00 pm at the Coffee Shack in Winterville - Showing of the DVD: "Ronald Reagan: A Rendezvous with Destiny." (DVD will begin at 6:30 pm).  Overview: This DVD is hosted by Newt and Callista Gingrich and presents the life and legacy of the 40th President of the United States - Ronald Reagan. Through never-before-seen interviews with former heads of state, cabinet officials and White House staff, Rendezvous with Destiny tells the story of the Reagan presidency and the three pillars that shaped his time in office: reviving the American economy, restoring America’s spirit, and challenging the oppression of the Soviet Union. Rendezvous with Destinytraces the path of Reagan’s remarkable life, from his childhood in Tampico and Dixon, Illinois, through his career in Hollywood and his time in the Governor’s mansion in California, and on to his two terms in the White House. Through this journey, we see how Reagan formed his conservative principles and came to view America as a “shining city on a hill” and as a beacon of freedom to the rest of the world. This film explores how Reagan, “The Great Communicator,” used his words and vision to help restore our confidence in the nation and its future.  (This DVD has received outstanding reviews).

Thursday, August 23 - 6:00 pm at the Warehouse Restaurant in Winterville. NC Rep. Glen Bradley will talk about the various pieces of excellent legislation he tried to pass in the 2011-2012 session, what the politics are up in Raleigh, and what we can expect in the 2013 session. Rep. Bradley is a true Constitutionalist and a friend to the Tea Party.
