WHICH REPUBLICANS SOLD OUT?

By Dick Morris And Eileen McGann

With the new Republican power in Washington, it is doubly important to keep a close eye on the doings of GOP Senators and Congressmen to spot those who are straying from orthodoxy, seduced by power and the insider clubiness that characterizes Washington.

Sun Journal Letter to the Editor: Insanity in Washington

Wouldn’t you think after the sweeping election, our elected officials would use restraint and common sense? The lame duck Congress moved against the wishes of the people — yet again. The Framers of the Constitution intended for there to be a continuity of government after an election as newly elected congressmen travelled. They are not traveling to Washington via horseback or train anymore — they can fly! New congressmen need to take office as soon as possible after the election and those seats lost should be vacated immediately to avoid an abuse of power. Just look at what they have done this week.

In the Senate, special interest money bought the votes for the passage of S 510, The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010. This bill vastly expands federal power over agriculture, potentially choking off small local growers and hobby farmers and will make it illegal to grow, share, trade, transport or sell homegrown food. It is the most offensive control against the cultivation, trade, and consumption of food and agricultural products of one’s choice. The bill is blatantly unconstitutional and contrary to natural law. At least with Kay Hagan, we knew she would vote for the bill even though she said she didn’t like it. Richard Burr, once again proved he is a RINO, but do you know why they voted for the bill? Hagan received $36,250 and Burr $328,086 in campaign bribe money to vote for the bill and they both received bribe money to oppose the bill, too. Hagan received $3,500 and Burr $32,292, but the opposition didn’t pay enough and the American people are stuck again with another insane law.

In fact, the restaurants and drinking establishments, catering services and consumer groups spent a total of $12,003,121 to buy this vote while the farm, livestock, milk, and dairy producers only had $3,697,970 to fight it. Special interest groups win again. Can you see now why the 17th Amendment to the Constitution should be repealed? The Framers of the Constitution never intended for senators to be elected; rather they should be appointed by the states to prevent such unsavory actions.

The House approved HR 4783, Claims Resolution Act of 2010. This legislation now provides funds to settle the Pigford and Cobell discrimination lawsuits brought on by African American farmers and water rights claims by Native American tribes. It is not that settling these lawsuits was bad. The problem is deceit and fraud. There’s no common sense here folks. The bill was originally passed by the House in March and was aimed at addressing income tax benefits to charitable contributions for the relief of victims of disasters in Haiti and Chile, but when the bill emerged out of the Senate it looked totally different. The Senate secretly rewrote the bill behind closed doors (again) creating over 270 pages of settlements. The $5.78 billion omnibus package is wrought with fraud and not a single House member – Republican or Democrat had the opportunity to offer an amendment to improve it as Pelosi rammed it through. This bill was approved by the congressmen we voted out of office.

Are you ready for more government power over our lives? Senate bill S 3307, The Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, will increase federal spending by $4.65 billion on school meal programs, expand the size of government (again) by creating or expanding 17 programs, place onerous unfunded mandates on local school districts and state governments, increase prices for paying families, and allow federal bureaucrats to determine what foods children can and cannot be served at school. We currently spend in excess of $20 billion annually in child nutrition assistance and the money needed to fund this will have to be borrowed from the student supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP) in the stimulus to pay for the program even as they try to find a way to restore these SNAP cuts down the road. Are you sitting down? The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) “estimates that implementing this bill would have discretionary costs of $35.9 billion over the 2011-1015 period. …” Say goodbye to school bake sales, cafeteria, pizza, burgers, and dogs. The Agriculture Department will even determine how often a PTO can hold bakes sales.

The Bush tax cuts are due to expire and the Democrats are trying to snowball the country with their “we’ll agree to extend the Bush tax cuts for everyone who makes under $250,000.” The inescapable reality is that the Democrats by their actions voted to raise taxes. God bless the Republicans and some Democrats for holding firm to extend all the Bush tax cuts so business owners can make plans to hire and expand their companies.

The Senate also voted to reject a Republican attempt to ban earmarks. In a procedural motion (that’s a quarterback sneak) the vote occurred as part of the debate on the Food Safety Modernization Act. Hagan voted against the moratorium and Burr voted in favor. This battle is far from over.

We cleaned house in the House, but we didn’t sweep out the fraud in the Senate.

Congress Sends Tax Cut Bill to Obama's Desk

A massive bipartisan tax package preventing a big New Year's Day tax hike for millions of Americans is on its way to President Barack Obama for his signature.  The measure would extend tax cuts for families at every income level, renew jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed and enact a new one-year cut in Social Security taxes that would benefit nearly every worker who earns a wage. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/12/17/congress-passes-extend-tax-cuts-jobless-aid/

Washington Examiner Editorial

Lame-duck Dems jam spending bill with 6,600 earmarks

By: Examiner Editorial 12/15/10 8:05 PM

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and his allies are using the lame duck to push $1.2 trillion in spending. Gallup released a historic poll yesterday: The Democrat-controlled 111th Congress, now in its final, lame-duck session, is the most unpopular in the history of the pollster's surveys.

Given this week's events, it's not hard to see why. House Democrats' massive resistance to a popular, bipartisan package to prevent gargantuan income tax increases on all taxpayers in January shows they learned nothing from the 2010 election in which voters handed control of the lower chamber back to Republicans. The lame ducks keep acting as if they are still the top drakes in town, oblivious to the fact they were plucked and roasted by the voters on Nov. 2.

But if liberal intransigence in the House on taxes evinces a Congress that is "not getting it," leading Senate Democrats are going their colleagues one better by introducing a $1.2 trillion omnibus spending bill that represents an act of stupefying political arrogance. This omnibus bill exemplifies a Democratic Congress that has been so preoccupied this year with its exceedingly unpopular legislative agenda that it failed to do its basic job: funding government. The Democrats who led the Senate and House refused to even pass a budget, as required by law and the Constitution, but now that they are losing power, they want one more spending spectacular before their terms end.

The 2,000-page omnibus bill contains 6,600 earmarks worth $8.3 billion, including funds for such national priorities as termite research and for a charity tied to the late House Democratic porkmeister John Murtha. The omnibus also funds Obamacare. It increases spending from last year's levels in a number of departments, immediately after an election in which runaway government spending was such a huge issue. Even worse, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and his colleagues pushing this bill presented it as a political gun to the head for Senate Republicans who know the government will shut down if something isn't done by Saturday.

Senate Republicans and similarly responsible Democrats should reject the omnibus, as well as any other last-minute spending package introduced by the discredited leaders of the 111th Congress. With the tax-cut compromise headed toward final passage, the only appropriate spending measure for the lame-duck Senate to consider is one that funds the government at current levels until the new Congress is sworn in to start cleaning up the mess. Then they should go home.

If they don't, Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., should, as he promised, demand a reading on the Senate floor of the full text of the omnibus and the proposed New START treaty, in order to slow-walk the irresponsible 111th Congress and prevent it from doing any more damage to the nation.

The Week Ahead: Last days of the 111th

Time is running out on the 111th Congress.

Lawmakers have only two full weeks to finish business (unless they decide to stay in town right up to Christmas). The two biggest items on the agenda are extending the Bush-era tax cuts and funding the government.

Administration officials and lawmakers are expected to continue tax negotiations, with most observers expecting the “Gang of Six” to come up with a compromise extending them across-the-board for two years.

Last week, lawmakers passed a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government funded until Dec. 18. But they still have to pass a budget or another CR to fund the government through fiscal year 2011. House and Senate Democrats want to push through an omnibus spending package or a CR through the end of the 2011 fiscal year to lock in spending at their desired levels. Republicans prefer a short-term extension, probably until early March, to apply spending cut pressure next year when they’ll enjoy the House majority.

House and Senate leaders predict the DREAM Act will come up for a vote this week. The legislation allows the children of illegal immigrants who have grown up in the U.S. to acquire legal residency if they meet certain requirements.

The Senate doesn’t appear to have a definite schedule for debating the 2011 defense authorization bill, which contains a provision repealing the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy (AND AN AMENDMENT TO FUND ABORTIONS ON MILITARY BASES). Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) would have to bring up the bill by early next week to have the time to overcome procedural hurdles, debate it and then start negotiations with the House, which already passed a defense bill including the repeal. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who filibustered the bill when it came up earlier this year, has threatened to do so again.

On the House side, the GOP conference will hold committee chairmanship elections on Tuesday.

The first full week in December also marks the beginning of the holiday party season. The Hill’s Washington Scene has a comprehensive list of the various parties around town.

Monday, Dec. 6

President Obama travels to North Carolina to visit Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem. He will tour two biotech classrooms, meet students and speak on the economy. Remarks are expected at 12:05 p.m.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton holds a trilateral meeting with South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan and Japanese Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara.

The Brookings Institution holds an event on "Internet Policymaking: New Guiding Principles.” Aneesh Chopra, the administration’s chief technology officer, delivers welcoming remarks. 8:30 a.m. at 1775 Massachusetts Ave. NW.

Tuesday, Dec. 7

The GOP conference will meet to determine committee chairmanships. Because Republican rules contain term limits for committee heads (which includes time they spent as ranking member), several lawmakers would need waivers to retain the top committee slots. Expect the battles to lead the Appropriations, Energy and Commerce and Homeland Security committees to be fierce.

House May Block Food Safety Bill Over Senate Error

A food safety bill that has burned up precious days of the Senate’s lame-duck session appears headed back to the chamber because Democrats violated a constitutional provision requiring that tax provisions originate in the House.

By pre-empting the House’s tax-writing authority, Senate Democrats appear to have touched off a power struggle with members of their own party in the House. The Senate passed the bill Tuesday, sending it to the House, but House Democrats are expected to use a procedure known as “blue slipping” to block the bill, according to House and Senate GOP aides.

Weekly Newsletter - Lame Duck

Below are our current Lame Duck successes:

-S3815 the Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles Bill was withdrawn by unanimous consent
-Appropriations Omnibus was rejected (CR expires December 3) The budget will be extended through some form of CR (CR=Continueing Resolution) (Ask your Representatives to reduce this by a percentage)
-Unemployement Insurance was rejected in the House.

We must defeat or minimize the damage from the following.

- The DREAM Act - Amnesty for illegal immigrants beyond current military process of becoming a US Citizen - Send a Free Fax to Sen. LeMieux http://southfloridateaparty.net/content/stop-amnesty-send-free-fax-sen-lemieux

-Allow to expire all the Stimulus in all its forms including the Build America Bonds program. Be aware of the impact on profligate local and State governments and make adjustments where appropriate..http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704648604575620610837699250.html?KEYWORDS=muni+federal+program

- TANF (expires December 4th) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporary_Assistance_for_Needy_Families
This is what was added http://economic-legislation.blogspot.com/2010/10/tanf-emergency-contingency-fund.html by the Stimulus and must end.

- FAA (Expires December 31st) Reduce TSA funding - Ask your Senator/Congressman to revert TSA back to contractor status, metal detectors, profiling and dogs. It's less stressful;. costs less and more effective. Body scanners are a law enforcement tool for terrorists and smugglers. I am unconvinced the reduction of terrorism off sets the health and legal concerns.

- FDA Food Modernization Act - Will add more government control over food supply. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-510&tab=summary

- FCC Net Neutrality - a threat to free speech through regulation not legislation http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2010/05/06/how-the-fcc-plans-to-regulate-internet-lines/

- The Paycheck "Fairness" Act - A threat to Free Markets and extends government's role into hiring and pay. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h110-1338

- Quantitative Easing - Defend your purchasing power by asking your Representatives to stop Quantitative Easing. I can't stress the importance of telling DC to stop messing around with the values of our currency. http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-11-08/china-says-fed-easing-may-flood-world-economy-with-hot-money-.html

This monetary easing is preventing recovery by devaluing the growth in savings and preventing self-reliance, investment at real market values and job creation. This Fed tactic makes all things in America more affordable to the rest of the world while pricing us out of the market because of supply and demand and a weak dollar for imports like coffee. We need to become more competitive rather then devalue everything we make and own, including our energy and food resources. Withdrawing taxpayer money from the market, paying down debt and contracting the monetary base will help to insulate the market from hyperinflation when real market demand growth occurs. We need market equilibrium and better market regulation, tax and oversight to increase adaptation, innovation and market efficiences. We need the correction in Housing that the Fed is trying to prevent from the government manufactured bubble. The Fed says this is a liquidity crisis when consumer demand is weak. The only form of real market recovery is thru the deleveraging and savings being built by the American people.

Senators brace for long lame duck

After the first week of a post-election session that saw both parties struggle to find unity on central policy questions, Democrats and Republicans are training their sights on each other for a post-Thanksgiving, eleventh-hour legislative marathon to close out the 111th Congress.

http://www.congress.org/news/2010/11/19/senators_brace_for_long_lame_duck

Food Safety Modernization Act (S 510)

The Lame-Duck Congress is Acting at Break-Neck Speed on Several Bills But Not on Taxes and the Current Fiscal Year Appropriations Bill

On Nov 18, 2010, the Senate approved a motion to proceed on the consideration of the Food Safety Modernization Act. Senator Burr voted against it and Senator Hagan voted for it. The Senate may vote today, Nov 19, 2010, on this legislation a version of which passed in the House on July 30, 2009. Although Senator Burr is a co-sponsor of the bill, according to a staffer in his office Senator Burr did not support the legislation in its original form. Senator Burr believes as a co-sponsor he can help direct and shape the final product because he wants to protect small farmers and small businesses. On the surface, the food safety bill may sound as if it is consumer friendly, protecting us from disease such as salmonella, E. coli etc. However, opponents such as the editor of Natural News has called the bill "the most dangerous bill in the history of the United States of America."

It grants the government new power of the "public's right to grow, trade and transport any foods." The new regulations require detailed records and a $500 annual fee for any farmer producing food items, including those selling to restaurants and Farmer's Markets.

Senators Tester (D-MT) and Hagan (D-NC) have crafted an amendment to the food safety bill that they say will protect small farmers from federal regulations. Under the amendment, "small producers will continue to be regulated at the state and local level." The amendment applies to "small producers who sell most of their food directly to consumers, local restaurants and retailers within a 275 mile radius," and that earn $500,000 or less annually, according to Senator Hagan's website. (The Wall Street Journal is reporting 400 miles as opposed to 275 miles for producers selling food products.)

The bill gives the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) more power to regulate food producers, giving them recall authority and massively increasing regulations and fees etc. (Remember when the FDA recalled tomatoes citing a NC producer when it was actually a Mexican producer?)

The National Independent Consumers and Farmers Association has stated: "S-510 will have the unintended destructive consequence of eliminating small farms and consumer access to local food. The main threats to food safety--by the government's own admission--are centralzed production, centralized processing and long distance transportation. The food safety bill will increase these risk factors by further consolidating agriculture into fewer, larger industrial farms through enormous regulatory burdens that small farms cannot endure. Small farms and farmers markets are an important economic engine, environmental safeguard and national security asset."

The National Coalition of Sustainable Agriculture supports the bill with the Tester-Hagan amendment and the Managers Amendment that "provides for a USDA-delivered competitive grants program for food safety training for farmers, small processors and wholesalers , provides more flexibility to minimize the burden of compliance with regulations, minimizes the number of standards, provides exemptions for low/no risk farms, removes certain wildlife-threatening enforcement, and reduces record keeping/traceability requirements for small farms." They do not support the House version.

Total cost of the bill starts at $3.4 billion (not including implementation costs), according to the Congressional Budget Office.

If the legislation passes in the Senate it will require House approval since the House bill, sponsored by Rep. Waxman (D-CA), was a different version of the bill.

If you are passionate about this bill:  Call Senators and Representatives and ask them to vote "No" on the "Food Safety Modernization Act."

Senator Burr (202) 224-3154; Senator Hagan (202) 224-6342
Representatives: G.K. Butterfield (D- 1st) (202) 225-3101; Bob Etheridge (D-2nd) (202) 225-4531;

Senate to vote Thursday on LIBERAL Judges

Senate to vote Thursday on Road-side Strangler, Anti-Marriage Judges -- Please call 17 undecided Senators listed far below, to filibuster Liu and Chatigny

The lame-duck Senate Judiciary committee has announced it will vote Thursday on the nominations of 12 liberal judges appointed by President Obama, including the Road-side Strangler judge Robert N. Chatigny, who seeks promotion to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, despite his history of arguing "sexual sadism" is not a crime, but a disease.

President Obama continues to push five radically extreme left judges to appeals courts, and last month the Senate Judiciary Committee split along party lines when forwarding their names to the full Senate (again). National Public Radio (hardly a bastion of conservative thought) has labeled these judges "The Fringe Five," and repeated Republican concerns that they are far too liberal to be easily confirmed. For example, "My problem with Goodwin Liu is that I believe he'll violate his oath as soon as he takes it," said Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK). Let's fax 100 Senators to help Sen. Coburn filibuster these judges when the lame duck session re-convenes, especially Chatigny and Liu:

The Washington Times editorials continue to rate President Obama's nominations for Judges as "The Worst Judiciary Ever: Obama's Judicial Nominations are Frightening." The two worst judges are now up for a full Senate vote: Goodwin Liu and Robert Chatigny. The Times rated the third worst Judge, David Hamilton, who ruled in Indiana case Hinrichs v. Bosma that the words "Jesus" or "Christ" were illegal words but prayers to "Allah" were totally legal. Why are Liu and Chatigny rated even worse than Hamilton?

The worst Road-side Strangler Judge Robert Chatigny (pronounced Shot-nee) attempted to free the "Roadside Strangler" Michael Ross, who had killed 7 victims, showing empathy for the killer (but not the victims) because the killer suffered from the "disease" of sexual sadism. No kidding, Chatigny wrote that sexual sadism was a "mitigating factor" warranting Ross be released from prison after raping and killing seven women. (Read Chatigny's detailed ruling on Ross below.) Thank God, Judge Chatigny was overruled and Ross was later executed. [Chaps comment: Jesus supported the death penalty in Matthew 15:3-4 and Mark 7:8-11.] But Judge Chatigny lived to continue his reign of insanity, imposing sentences "well below the recommended minimum in a series of child-pornography and sexual-assault cases and even tried to invalidate Connecticut's version of the Megan's Law sex-offender registry," according to The Wash. Times.

The second-worst Anti-Marriage Judge Goodwin Liu (pronounced Loo) "offered an amicus brief to the California Supreme Court in which he and others argued that the state’s ban on same-sex marriage (approved twice by the voters of California) was unconstitutional," according to Human Events. Liu also recklessly attacked Supreme Court Justices Roberts and Alito because they were allegedly "unfriendly to civil rights, abortion rights and the environment." (Can you say pro-abortion?) Finally in a 2008 Stanford Law Review article, Liu supported a judicial role in "establishing constitutional welfare rights—i.e., affirmative rights, to education, shelter, subsistence, healthcare and the like, or to the money these things cost," Human Events reported.

Both Judges face full-Senate confirmation soon, since Chatigny passed committee 11-7 (not even Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-CA would vote for him) for the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, and Liu also passed committee 12-7 on a strict party-line vote for the 9th Circuit. Both can be stopped by a filibuster from all Republicans, so let's take action...

Read Judge Chatigny's legal opinion about "The Roadside Strangler" who killed 7 people:
JUDGE CHATIGNY: "This is a man [Roadside Strangler Michael Ross] who, before he went off to Cornell, was as far as I know okay. He's at Cornell, he has this classmate, this petite Asian girl who is sweet and he likes her and he winds up killing her because he has this affliction, this terrible disease [sexual sadism]. And having gratified this awful, uncontrollable, impulse to sexually brutalize this person he liked and then kill her, he realizes that he has done evil and he stands on the bridge and is going to kill himself before he does it again. But he doesn't jump. And today, he looks back at those days and he hates himself because he didn't jump. He was a coward...

"So for Michael Ross to be able to back out now, forget it. The only way Michael Ross is going to get his life back is if somebody like you [defense lawyer], and maybe only you, says, 'We realize you're no longer in a position to change your mind.' You're like the guy standing on the bridge back at the gorge in Ithaca, and you're not going to make the same mistake, the one you made back then because you went on and took seven innocent lives, and you know that you are responsible. You know you had sexual sadism. You know that you became a monster because of it. And you have now found a way to end this. And there's no turning back...

"I suggest to you that Michael Ross may be the least culpable, the least, of the people on death row. Michael Ross, by what I see in the record, suffered from these intolerable obsessional bouts with sexual sadism, which were not relieved until he began that regimen of chemical castration, whereupon they were relieved. And then when it was taken away from him, they came back. And it was only when he got the alternative regimen that he found relief again...

"He explains that the only people in the system who showed him any kindness were two women. The only ones who didn't treat him like a monster were these two women, yet in the grip of this disease he would lie awake all night thinking about sexually brutalizing them and killing them. So is he a sick man? Boy, oh, boy...

"So when he says, I feel that I'm the victim of a miscarriage of justice because they didn't treat it as a mitigating factor, I can well understand where he's coming from...

"Going beyond that, we have a guy who, having gotten beyond the sexual sadism, is nevertheless trapped in this environment at Northern [prison] where you have no human contact to speak of, you're locked up in a seven by twelve foot cell where you get to ruminate about all these things that you did, you get to think about how the world hates you, despises you."--Judge Robert Chatigny about Roadside Strangler Michael Ross.

Goodwin Liu is an extremely liberal professor from Berkeley, who, according to a top homosexual blog in San Diego, "signed onto a friend-of-the court brief, prepared by lesbian law scholar Kathleen Sullivan, in the same-sex marriage lawsuit before the California Supreme Court in 2008. The brief argued that the California constitution’s guarantee of equal protection required same-sex couples have the same access to marriage licenses as straight couples."

Liu told the Los Angeles Times, "there is no question that [Proposition 8 traditional marriage] targets a historically vulnerable group and eliminates a very important right [to gay marriage.]" Liu predicted same-sex marriage will "become an unremarkable thread of our social fabric" and Christians who oppose it are a "narrow and ultimately temporary majority."

Liberals praise Liu's pro-abortion, pro-environment, and extreme pro-welfare views, noting he finds welfare [i.e. Obamacare] a Constitutional right, which even Justice Sonia Sotomayor rebuffed. Liu clerked for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and served the Obama-Biden transition team, and the ACLU-Northern California.

Liu co-authored a book "Keeping Faith with the Constitution," which praised the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2003 decision, Lawrence v. Texas, striking down sodomy laws.

Liu wrote in his book: "In worrying that criminalization of private homosexual conduct invites public discrimination against homosexual persons... the Court understood that the lives and identities of gay people transcend what they do in their bedrooms to encompass who they are in civil society. Protecting gay people’s choices within the intimacy of their homes serves essentially as a safeguard of their dignity in a more public sphere."

[Chaps comment: Liu is eternally wrong. Courts should never 'protect' sin, which hurts all homosexuals eternally, and costs their very souls. Judges should always reflect Divine Justice, and prepare all men for God's final Judgment. Thus Liu opposes God Himself.]

WE MUST TAKE ACTION TODAY. So please sign our new fax-petition, but then PLEASE MAKE 17 PHONE CALLS TODAY to each of the undecided Senate votes here, asking to oppose and filibuster both Judge Liu (Loo) and Judge Chatigny (Shot-nee), because they both oppose traditional family values and pervert justice:

GRASSROOTS ACTION ALERT!

Four "Lame Duck" tricks from Pelosi-Reid

From: Grassroots Action alert@grassfire.net
Our friends at Concerned Women for America have identified the four "Lame Duck tricks" they are bracing for from Pelosi and Reid starting Monday. Please see below.

From the Desk of:  Penny Nance, Chief  Executive Officer
Concerned Women for America

They are baaaaack!

On MONDAY Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and their leftist allies will be on Capitol Hill more determined than ever to force their ambitious wish list of anti-family and anti-values legislation down our collective throats.....unless you and I stop them cold.

Concerned Women for America has identified FOUR KEY LIBERAL AGENDA ITEMS -- radical legislation that we expect will be pushed hard during this "Lame Duck" session of Congress, and we need your help so we can respond at a moment's notice when they try to slip these favorite liberal tricks through
the back door.

Here are the FOUR CRITICAL AGENDA ITEMS we expect from the Reid-Pelosi Lame Duck Congress... starting Monday:

1. TAX INCREASES:  On January 1, 2011 American families and businesses across the nation will be saddled with a $3 trillion tax hike -- the largest in our nation's history.  This tax is an attack on marriage, family and small business!
2. MORE GOVERNMENT SPENDING:  Despite a failing economy and failing job market, our government continues to print money it doesn't have -- running up deficits that are putting our children's futures in jeopardy!
3. RADICAL JUDICIAL NOMINEES:  President Obama is solidifying his radical agenda for generations that follow by nominating judges who share his "progressive" ideology. Even worse, he's actively pursuing justices who aspire to use foreign law in interpreting our Constitution!
4. REPEALING "DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL":  Pelosi and Reid are eager to force the military to adopt a radical homosexual agenda -- an agenda that undermines our military, and puts people of faith who are serving in a "no-win" situation.

Given their history, I am convinced that Pelosi and Reid will move rapidly on these critical issues -- making it imperative that we can respond at a moment's notice.  That is why CWA is launching a national petition to "Stop The Reid-Pelosi Lame Duck Agenda." If you share my deep concerns that Pelosi and Reid will
ignore the election results and push these pet liberal agenda items through, please go here and sign our petition:  http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?u=34781&RID=26460101

Together we can de-rail the Pelosi-Reid Lame Duck Express before it does irreparable harm to our nation, but the key is for us to respond quickly -- before they can build any momentum.

Even as I write this critical alert, they are carefully plotting and scheming how best to advance their radically-charged agenda as early as November 15!  That's why we can't sit back - not even for a moment!  Please take fast action with me by clicking below and adding your name to our "Stop The Reid/Pelosi Lame Duck" petition.  http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?u=34781&RID=26460101

After signing our petition, help me quickly assemble a strong coalition of conservatives to help CWA challenge and beat back the Reid/Pelosi liberal wish list by alerting your friends and family to follow your lead by clicking below and signing our national petition:  http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?u=34781&RID=26460101

For decades CWA has been an unwavering presence on Capitol Hill. We are literally in the eye of this growing political storm, and we are ready to storm the political gates to protect our nation, our families and the generations that follow.

Thank you for standing with me!

Study: Foreign-born workers gain 656,000 jobs

Americans Being Intentionally Replaced in Jobs With Immigrants Nationwide

This article and study supports ALIPAC's warning to America that Americans are being systematically replaced in our jobs, schools, health care facilities, homes, and ballot boxes as part of a coordinated plan by some elites to throw Americans out of power and into poverty or worse in our own nation.

We want to thank everyone once again that supported our 2010 campaign operations. We are very happy with our success despite several important races that did not go our way.

The evidence of election fraud is all over the place and many of our key activists and allied groups are looking into those matters as best we can. We believe that illegal aliens voted across America, especially in Nevada, on Nov 2. 2010.

Those of you that voted, paid attention to ALIPAC's endorsements, volunteered for campaigns, and donated to our operations and our candidates really made a great difference!

So many of you worked very hard and we want to make it very clear how much we appreciate your support and hard work!

Our major threat right now is that Harry Reid and the Democrats know that Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty and Dream Act Amnesty are dead in the water for two years once the new members of the US House and Senate are sworn in during ceremonies in late January. ALIPAC hopes to set up an event for you to have the option of attending in DC for these historic events.

Members of Congress will reconvene for a few weeks starting around November 15, 2010. This short session between the elections and Christmas is called the 'Lame Duck' session.

Senator Harry Reid has made it very clear he plans to push for Amnesty again during the lame duck session in a desperate attempt to get amnesty through.

We hate to tell everyone this, but unfortunately Harry Reid and the other traitors do have a strong chance of passing Amnesty in the lame duck session.

But we have stopped them before several times and we will stop them again this time.

ALIPAC is an organization that now specializes in helping to stop Amnesty legislation on the state and federal level.

With your continued support and activism, we can hold them off until our new candidates can be sworn in. And if we can make it to that point, we will go on offense in the states and DC and by the time we are done, millions of illegal aliens will have left our nation!

Please rest up and get your affairs in order because the next round of political fighting will begin very soon!

Sincerely,
William Gheen and The ALIPAC Team

Study: Foreign-born workers gain 656,000 jobs

By Morgan Lee

Friday, October 29, 2010 at 10:46 p.m.

Immigrants have gained more than 600,000 jobs since the official end of the Great Recession in June 2009, according to a newly released study.

Native-born workers fared far worse, shedding 1.5 million jobs, according to an analysis by the Pew Hispanic Center of U.S. Census Bureau and Department of Labor data.

Foreign-born workers picked up 656,000 jobs over the 12-month period, driving down that population's unemployment rate half a point to 8.7 percent. Immigrant workers make up 15.7 percent of the labor force.

The gains, however, were not nearly enough to make up for 1.1 million jobs lost among immigrants from second-quarter 2008 through second-quarter 2009. And immigrants experienced a sharp decline in median weekly earnings -- down 4.5 percent., compared to a loss of less than 1 percent for the native born.

"The unemployment rate for immigrants is still more than double the rate prior to the recession when it stood at 4.0 percent in the second quarter of 2007," the study said.

Released on Friday, the report was not able to separately identify illegal immigrants because that status was not recorded in the source data. It found that Hispanic immigrants experienced the largest drop in earnings of all ethnic and racial groups.

The report focused on the period from the second quarter of 2008 to the second quarter of 2009, when most of the job losses during the recession occurred, and the subsequent 12 months that marked the first year of recovery from the recession.

UNITED STATES JUSTICE FOUNDATION

A Lame Duck Session of the U. S. Congress

Barack Hussein Obama and his far-left allies in Congress have two months to pass their socialist agenda. That's because, most of the members of Congress elected yesterday will not take office until the 112th Congress starts their session in January, 2011.

We must do everything within our power to STOP what will likely be an effort to force through the "public option" (mandatory, taxpayer paid, government controlled, health insurance) in Obamacare, as well as whatever pork-barrel legislation they can ram through to thank the labor unions and special interest groups who campaigned for them. We must STOP the Obama far-left agenda, and WE MUST DO IT RIGHT NOW.

We can't let the left ram the balance of their unwanted agenda, much of which is un-Constitutional, down our throats. Quite frankly, Barak Obama and his minions are not accepting this defeat---this mandate from the American voters! Just like they did not pay attention to the wishes of the American people in the last two years, why should they accept defeat now?

After all, they have two months to crash and burn many pieces of legislation---for the disaster of the American people---even against our wishes.

And we here at USJF, must be ready to battle them, at every turn, both in the courtroom and in the court of public opinion!

That's why I need you to FAX every U. S. Senator and every U. S. Representative, to let them know that they must obey the wishes of the American people. We must remind them that we are watching their every move.

The election is over until 2012. Constitutional conservatives won the skirmish of 2010, but the real war has just begun. Can we count on America's patriots, such as you, just one more time to help us? We need to finish the battle and win the war.

Yes, voters of America experienced a genuine victory at the polls. But, in spite of that, our work has just begun. We won that battle---but the "war" is now upon us!

In spite of victory, here is what a Lame Duck session of Congress---what we are facing for the next two months---can do to pass laws that will adversely affect you and your family:

Bankrupting our nation;
Higher taxes;
Cap and Trade;
Socialized, government mandated, government controlled, health care;
Taxpayer-funded abortions;
Amnesty for illegal aliens;
No more secret ballots for union workers;
MORE Government intrusion into every area of our lives; and,
Openly homosexual military personnel.

The Barack Obama "Shopping List" for his Far-Left agenda goes on and on and on. Just because his minions lost the battle (yesterday's elections), does not mean that they will not "fight to the finish," for their socialist agenda BEFORE JANUARY 1, 2011.

We must CHALLENGE any controversial legislation.

We must fight to have OBAMACARE overturned by the Courts.

In short, we do not have any time to savor the victory, because we must continue to fight---now, more than ever!

Plus, Mr. Obama can use this Lame Duck session to confirm several radical judges to the federal court.

We must be ON GUARD, right now---as a "legislative tsunami" of terrible, and, often, un-Constitutional bills could overtake the average American. It is absolutely crucial that we challenge every effort of Congress to pass controversial, often un-Constitutional, legislation.

PLEASE FAX every single Member of our U. S. Congress.

This fax is NOT just for the losers of last night's election. This fax is not just for those Members of Congress who lean to the left. This is for conservative Members of Congress who might be "off guard" during the celebration of their wins! We cannot settle for a lukewarm attitude on behalf of the Right. "Why can't we all just live together?" is NOT the mandate that the American people voted for yesterday! They-You and me-voted for genuine CHANGE. We must reign in government during this Lame Duck session.

They will try to pass a bill that will END the tax cuts signed into law by President Bush BEFORE the end of the year. This will stifle any kind of business growth and economic growth. They only have two months to use their back-room, Chicago-style, political stiff-arming to ram these almost two dozen bills down our throats. That's why we must step up to the plate RIGHT NOW! We must be ready to challenge in the courtroom, and in the court of public opinion, any lame-duck legislation that is passed using any illegal or unethical tactics!

When Members of Congress come back from their vacations next week, we want them to have stacks and stacks and stacks of tens of thousands of faxes from you, letting them know that they cannot get away with controversial legislation during this Lame Duck session. Will you help us today to send an imperative message from the American public ---one that will jolt them even more than yesterday's jolt?

The Obama administration wants to take TOTAL CONTROL over every area and facet of your life. His allies even used voter fraud techniques yesterday. We must urge our Members of Congress to not submit to intimidation and threats and bullying tactics.

Believe me; instead of listening to the wishes of the American people through their voting rights Barack Obama and his allies are sore losers. Mr. Obama talked about "punishing enemies" and "hand-to-hand combat". What is that? That is no way for any President to speak of concerning over one-half of all Americans, Democrat or Republican. I am ashamed of him.

He is determined to destroy the American way of life, as we once knew it. Under many disguises and great oratory articulation, Mr. Obama continues to "charm" the American people. LAST NIGHT PROVED HIM WRONG!

Sun Journal Letter to the Editor

BEWARE the Lame Duck

Perhaps the most dangerous time ahead for our Nation will occur when Congress reconvenes after November 2nd.

Democrats in the Senate, in early October, held a recess hearing covering a taxpayer bailout of union pensions and a plan to seize private 401(k) plans to more "fairly" distribute taxpayer-funded pensions to everyone.

Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee heard from hand-picked witnesses advocating the infamous "Guaranteed Retirement Account" (GRA).

In a nutshell, under the GRA system government would seize private 401(k) accounts, setting up an additional 5% mandatory payroll tax to dole out a "fair" pension to everyone using that confiscated money coupled with the mandated contributions. This would, of course, be a sister government ponzi scheme working in tandem with Social Security, the primary purpose being to give big government politicians additional taxpayer funds to raid to pay for their out-of-control spending.

We can also expect a renewal of the Dream (Amnesty) Act (S-729) which was defeated when it was attached to the Defense Authorization Bill.

The DREAM Act has two major components:

(1) it grants amnesty to illegal aliens who entered the country as children and have met minimal educational requirements; and

(2) it reverses current law to allow states to provide taxpayer subsidized in-state tuition to illegal aliens.

When S-729 first failed, Senators Reid and Durbin took to the Senate floor to angrily denounce the Senators who voted no. They accused their colleagues of not having the courage to bring the DREAM Act to a vote and vowed that this would not end the fight to pass this amnesty legislation. Amnesty is a big part of the progressive agenda; it is also a recruitment tool for the Socialists in the Democratic Party.

If any of this doesn’t sound like a government you grew up with, it’s not. It is the new order of things for Americans and it is Americans who can stop this a few weeks from now. First we must vote out the progressive liberals who are flirting with Socialism. After their removal we must unite under a common cause; the destruction of Socialism on our shores.

When Democrats, Republicans, Independents and Conservatives come together, there is nothing they cannot achieve. Isn’t it time we stand together?

Lame Duck Congress

Circumstances in the US today are like no other in our history.   Obama and Pelosi both are focused on pushing forward their Progressive/Socialist agenda.

Focus in the last two years has been on enacting legislation that will destroy our economy. No matter what Obama may say, I believe he is thrilled with the fact that so many people are now unemployed and dependent on our government.

This is exactly what Alinsky advocated and the Progressives want. Their next hope is that, in desperation, people become violent - so that they can initiate martial law.

After November 2nd, if we are successful in removing many of the incumbents, the Lame Duck session will be made up of many Representatives who "have nothing to lose" - as they will not be returning to the new session. Many dogmatically adhere to the Obama/Pelosi agenda.

Much legislative damage can be done in the Lame Duck session. These Representatives know that even if the new Congress succeeds in repealing this legislation, Obama will probably veto it. Overriding a veto is difficult.

Their agenda can still go forward.

We must be very careful that, in our "euphoria" with our success in removing incumbents, we do not ignore what will be occurring in our Congress. This is going to be a "dangerous" period.

We must be vigilant and immediately take action if we discover legislation that should not get passed. A priority will be to re-focus our energies on the Senators who are coming up for re-election in 2012:

Arizona - Kyl (R)
Nevada - Ensign (R)
California - Feinstein (D)
New Jersey - Menendez (D)
Connecticut - Lieberman (I)
New Mexico - Bingaman (D)
Delaware - Carper (D)
North Dakota - Conrad (D)
Florida - Nelson (D)
Ohio - Brown (D)
Hawaii - Akaka (D)
Pennsylvania - Casey, Jr. (D)
Indiana - Lugar (R)
Rhode Island - Whitehouse (D)
Maine - Snowe (R)
Tennessee - Corker (R)
Maryland - Cardin (D)
Utah - Hatch (R)
Michigan - Stabenow (D)
Vermont - Sanders (I)
Minnesota - Klobuchar (D)
Virginia - Webb (D)
Mississippi - Wicker (R)
Washington - Cantwell (D)
Missouri - McCaskill (D)
Wisconsin - Kohl (D)
Montana - Tester (D)
Wyoming - Barrasso (R)
Nebraska - Nelson (D)

19 Democrats - 8 Republicans - 2 Independents

Please let me know if I have made an error or omission with the above table.

The Patriot Post

New & Notable Legislation

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) introduced legislation for the lame-duck session that would repeal right-to-work laws in 22 states. Currently, workers in those states employed in unionized companies can choose whether to join the union and pay dues. In the other 28 states, known as "forced dues" states, it's legal for unions to mandate that all workers pay union dues and to fire workers who don't comply. This is a blatantly obvious power grab by unions and their minions in the Democrat Party. Sherman disguises it as an attempt to level the playing field for "forced dues" states like his native California that "have to compete with the race to the bottom as our companies have to compete with those where the workers would like better wages, working conditions and benefits but are unable to organize to get them."

Sherman is either incorrect or just plain lying about the fact that workers in right-to-work states don't have the right to unionize. Nothing prevents unionizing in these states other than workers' votes. Furthermore, while he's correct that California businesses are losing out to right-to-work states, that's because unions have put such a squeeze on companies to enrich their own bank accounts that many choose not to set up shop there. Others have simply moved to other states.

Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) introduced legislation that would require the president to deploy a minimum of 10,000 National Guard troops to the southern border in an effort to stem the tide of illegal immigration. "The uniqueness of this," said Poe, is that the troops "would be paid by the federal government, because everybody says it is the responsibility of the federal government to protect the border. So the federal government will use the resources it already has to pay for those 10,000 National Guard troops, but they will be supervised by the governors of the four states on the border."

In other news, the House is waiting on the Senate to take action on some 420 bills it has passed since January 2009. We never thought we'd say it, but we're thankful for the 111th Senate.

Big Labor Hints at Lame-Duck ‘Card Check’ Vote

Depending on the outcome of November’s midterm elections, the subsequent lame duck session may be Democrats’ last chance to push through some major agenda items that have been on the back burner since they took control of Congress in 2006. Among these priorities is the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA), or “card check.”

Democrats to stuff 20 bills into post-election lame-duck session

By Alexander Bolton - 09/28/10 06:00 AM ET

Democrats are considering cramming as many as 20 pieces of legislation into the lame-duck session they plan to hold after the Nov. 2 election.

The array of bills competing for floor time shows the sense of urgency among Democratic lawmakers to act before the start of the 112th Congress, when Republicans are expected to control more seats in the Senate and House.
