Marketplace Fairness Act

A flawed internet sales tax bill is quietly working its way through Congress. The so-called Marketplace Fairness Act would allow states to force out-of-state online retailers to collect sales taxes on their behalf. Like similar proposals to tax the Internet, this bill has serious logistical, economic and constitutional problems, and it needs to be stopped.

This internet sales tax legislation would have a huge impact on small businesses, which would be forced to comply with 9,600+ sales tax jurisdictions across all 50 states that are ever-changing. This would be a huge administrative nightmare, leading many small businesses to shut their doors.

This tax bill has already sailed through the Senate. That means it’s up to the House of Representatives to stop this misguided legislation from seeing the President desk. Your Representatives need to hear from activists like you.

Take Action Today. Tell your elected officials to OPPOSE this flawed internet sales tax bill.
