Craven-Pamlico Christian Coalition Meeting

NEXT MEETING IS MONDAY, OCTOBER 21st!

Common Core is the subject!

The Craven-Pamlico Christian Coalition will meet next Monday, October 21st, at Golden Corral in New Bern. The meeting begins promptly at 7:00 pm, but for those who wish to eat dinner, please arrive between 6:00 and 6:30. Our guest speaker will be David Hale, member of the Craven County Board of Education. He will speak generally about the Craven County Board of Education, but specifically about the Common Core curriculum. Common Core has been discussed a lot in recent months, but this is the chance to learn a little more, hear about David's take on it and give an opinion or two of your own! We had asked Senator Norman Sanderson to speak this month, but he has graciously agreed to speak at our November meeting, along with Tami Fitzgerald of the NC Values Coalition. Prior to David's presentation, we will have a brief overview of last month's God & Country Banquet. That overview is especially important given the Sun Journal's decision not to print anything about it in their paper. (Yes, it did make their online version, but not the printed version. And their story online certainly did not reflect what was spoken at the meeting, but rather they used the event for their own purposes.)
